

This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 280SL was originally sold new in Greece and has resided exclusively in California since import. Finished in Champagne Metallic (473) ovea Beige MB-Tex (135), power is provided by a 2.8L M110 inline-6 paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Extensive recent service has been performed in preparation for the sale including a new fuel pump, filter, distributor, and relay, warm-up regulator, injectors, seals, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap, and battery. Additionally, the braking system was overhauled with new rear calipers, brake pads, hoses, sensors, master cylinder, and complete parking brake kit. Lastly, the car received a new A/C blower motor, driveshaft flex disc, and center support bearing. Equipment includes air conditioning, electric windows, a black soft top, a paint-matched hardtop, and an original Becker head unit. The odometer reads 163k miles at the time of sale and is reported to be inoperative. This 280SL is offered out of Hollywood, Florida with two keys, recent service records, and a clean California title.
The SL is finished in Champagne Metallic (473) and underwent a full repaint under previous ownership from the original Silver Blue Metallic (930) color. Exterior features include a brown fabric soft top and removable paint-matched hardtop. The car retains its original Euro-market headlamps and bumpers. Some imperfections are noted by way of light rock chips at the nose of the car and normal wear on the body trim from age. The black soft top appears to be relatively new and shows nicely without tears or snags.
The factory 14″ Bundt alloy wheels were recently refinished and wear Forceum Ecosa tires measuring 205/70 all around with 2025 date codes. The braking system was recently overhauled with new rear calipers, brake pads, brake hoses, sensors, a new brake master cylinder, and a complete parking brake kit.
The cabin is trimmed in Beige MB-Tex (135) and features factory air conditioning, electric windows, an original Becker head unit, 3-point seat belts, and a Nardi steering wheel. The original Zebrano veneer is shown with some imperfections noted. Some wear spots are noted on the interior trim pieces including the rear tonneau cover, door pockets, and driver seat bolster.
A Nardi steering wheel frames factory gauges include a 160-mph VDO speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and a six-digit odometer showing just over 163k miles. The seller notes the odometer is currently inoperative and true mileage is unknown. Auxiliary gauges include oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.
The Euro 2.8-liter M110 inline-six features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 182 horsepower when new. A rare 5-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
