This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 190E was originally ordered for the German market and imported into the U.S. in January of 1985. The car remained with the original importing owner until earlier this year. Showing 177k miles, this 190E is finished in Champagne Metallic (473) over Palomino Fabric (054) upholstery. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. This car features an era-correct body kit from Zender, 15” BBS wheels, lowered suspension, power front windows, and air conditioning. Recent maintenance includes a new fuel pump, injectors, fuel tank cleaning, thermostat, spark plugs and wires, R134 AC conversion, coolant flush, and new tires. Included in the sale is the original tool kit, first aid kit, factory jack, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
This 190E is finished in Champagne Metallic (473) and was fitted with an authentic Zender body kit in period. The original Zender kit includes sculpted front and rear bumpers, side cladding, and side skirts, all of which show stamped part numbers. The seller notes minor areas of fading and wear on the paint, and a chip on the front left of the hood above the headlight as seen in the gallery. A full ceramic coating was applied last month to provide additional paint protection.
This W201 wears a set of gold 15” BBS mesh wheels wearing new Hankook Ventus V2 tires measuring 195/50 all around with 2025 date codes. The wheel feature Mercedes-branded center caps and show some wear around the faces and lips. KBA part numbers are present between the lug holes.
The cabin is finished in Palomino Fabric (054) which lines the seats, door cards and arm rest. Features include central locking, power front windows, and air conditioning. The wood veneer around the shifter shows some fading and hairline cracks. The seller notes some light staining on the driver seat and cracks in the dashboard.
The gauge cluster features a 140-mph speedometer with a mechanical odometer which currently reads just over 177k miles. Other gauges include a tachometer, fuel level, fuel economy, oil pressure, coolant temperature and an analogue clock.
The 2.0-liter inline-four is factory rated at 120 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. The original 5-speed manual transmission features a leather gear shifter with the shift pattern engraved on top. Recent maintenance includes a new fuel pump, injectors, fuel tank cleaning, thermostat, spark plugs and wires, R134 AC conversion, coolant flush, and new tires. Additionally, a new battery was installed in January 2025.
The Carfax report shows first entry in 2000 with linear mileage updates, registration history exclusively in Arizona, and no accidents or damage reports. This Zender-modified 190E is offered by the seller in Arizona with the original tool kit, first aid kit, factory jack, and a clean Arizona title.
