This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) over Palomino Leather (274) and power is provided by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The car underwent an extensive service in 2023 totalling nearly $17k and consisted of a differential service, transmission service, new tires, steering box, fuel accumulator, EHA valve, fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, tie rods, center link, steering damper, and much more. Features include a folding brown soft top, a removable hardtop, fog lights, a Becker cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. Now showing just over 54k miles, this R107 is now offered by the selling dealer with the owner's manual, tool kit, hardtop stand, 2 keys, battery tender, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) and includes a paint-matched removable hardtop along with a folding brown soft top. Both tops present in good condition with no major flaws. Additional exterior features include fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accents along the bumpers, windows, and belt line of the car. The body is free from any rust and the seller notes the third brake light housing is cracked. The original VPC sticker can still be seen on the original windshield. Detailed photos of the exterior are provided in the gallery.
Factory painted 15″ gullideckel wheels are mounted with 205/65 Michelin Defender tires which were replaced in 2023. The car was factory-equipped with power steering, fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Service in 2023 included new tie rods, center link, and dampers.
The interior is upholstered in Palomino Leather (274) and shows matching carpets, door cards, and center console. Interior appointments include a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. Burl wood trim accents the center console and dash. The wood shows no fading or cracks, and the dash also remains free from any imperfections. Factory Mercedes-Benz branded floor mats are installed.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just over 54k original miles.
The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to all for the bidding on this nice 560SL. It will take more to buy the car than essentially what was spent to properly prepare the car. My friends at The MB Market can assist any interested parties that would like to buy the car.

Final day to own this attractive 1987 560SL. This is a nicely documented SL with extensive recent reconditioning. The car comes with all the documents shown in the listing including a top caddy, handbooks and tools. This SL will be sold as-is with no warranty implied or otherwise. The car is stored in Burlingame CA, 5 minutes south of SFO. In the case of an out of state buyer, I can keep the car safe until pickup by the new owner’s trucking contact. Bidders should refresh their browsers regularly during the last minutes of the auction to insure they see the most recent bids. And for those new to the bidding process, it’s important to know that any bid placed within the last 2 minutes of the auction resets the auction clock to 2 minutes. Good luck to all!

Welcome to my 1987 560SL auction. The car is finished in perhaps the era's most popular color/trim combination of 702 smoke silver with `274 palomino interior. These colors are complemented with the brown soft top. The car presents itself beautifully and comes with handbooks, 2 keys, its original tool roll, a top caddy, and trickle charger. This SL was cost-no-object refurbished in 2023 with about $17k spent on all the typical 560SL loose ends. The items listed in the repair orders I scanned are what I typically need to address on most 560SLs that arrive at my dealership. The new owner will have immediate enjoyment with this SL, right down to new tires. The car behaves as a 560SL should. Feel free to contact me with any questions. The car can be inspected at my gallery in Burlingame, CA - 5 minutes south of SFO. Pre-purchase inspections can be organized locally. And global shipping can be arranged.
