This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300CE Cabriolet was sold new through Tafel Motors of Louisville, Kentucky in January 1993. It remained with the second owner from 2003 through 2020 until the current owner purchased the car. Documented dealer service receipts accompany this example showing consistent service since new including rebuilt top hydraulics cylinders and wiring harness replacement through Tafel Motors, now Mercedes-Benz of Louisville. Finished in Black (040) over a Grey Leather (268) interior, power comes from a 3.2-liter M104 Inline-6 paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a power folding black soft top, an OEM wind deflector, an aftermarket Alpine head unit, and automatic climate control. This 300CE Cabriolet currently shows 98,221 miles on the analog odometer and is being offered by the current owner with an original window sticker, comprehensive service records, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, an OEM car cover and wind deflector, and a clean Kentucky title.
Finished in Black (040) with matching Black lower cladding, the body is free from any dents or corrosion. Exterior features include glass headlamps with wipers, an automatic power antenna, and a power soft top in Black cloth. All body panels reportedly align evenly and the clear coat shows nicely with no signs of fading or failure.
This example shows the original 8-hole 15” wheels wrapped in Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires measuring 195/65 with original painted center caps installed. The wheels are free from any bends but do show light curb rash around the lips.
The cabin is trimmed in Grey Leather (268) across the seats, door cards, head rests, and armrest while the upper dash, steering wheel, and shift knob are wrapped in contrasting Black leather. The original Grey carpets remain with the car and are shown in the gallery below. An original set of all-weather mats will be included as well. Burl Walnut wood adorns the door cards, center console, and dashboard. The wood veneer is free from cracks or fading. An aftermarket Alpine head unit has been installed with Bluetooth capability. Additional features include automatic climate control, dual front airbags, an OEM folding wind deflector, and power-adjustable seats.
The black leather steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer featuring an analog clock, along with gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer now shows 98,221 miles.
The 3.2-liter M104 inline-6 was factory rated at 217 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque when new. Ample maintenance records will be included in the sale documenting regular oil changes and maintenance dating back to 2003. Noteably, major services include rebuilt top hydraulic cylinders and wiring harness replacement with the local dealership.
This 300CE Cabriolet currently shows 98k miles on the odometer and is being offered by the current owner with an original window sticker, comprehensive service records, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, an OEM car cover, and a clean Kentucky title.
Below are videos showing the power-folding soft top in operation and this Cabriolet driving.
At $76,900 MSRP the E-Class cabriolet (A124) was one of the most expensive models on showroom floors in the early 90’s. We’ve seen plenty of low-mile examples presented to the market this year but this is the first time we’ve had such a complete offering including almost 20 years of service records in addition to all the OEM accessories and even the original window sticker. There's no denying the tremendous value in getting behind the wheel of an A124 that's already had the wiring harness and top hydraulic cylinders addressed. We trust the next owner will be as meticulous in their record keeping and their maintenance as the current owner. In any case, this A124 is ready for a new home and is only in need of a new driver and caretaker.

@MBstyle this is the 2nd car I've sold this year.. it was NOT bought for commercial gain... for personal reasons I am thinning down what I own. If you are interested then I'd bid, if not, then I'd move on. Thank you
@BLowel , you bought the car in 2020 on commercial purpose, as you sell it one year later on. As this car seems to be in perfekt conditions…right? Or what the readon for the sales?…
@thembmarket, thx we work on it with high pressure. @BLowel thx for reply… we try to solve the problem… cross my fingers here…will stay closer than close…
@MBstyle we have sent an email to you via your registered address. Thanks for reaching out!
@thembmarket please contact me asap as something in your system is not working related to credit card info. I need to bid on the 300CE here and cant ..all my details are correct and in working but not here??? Help
@MBstyle sorry for my delay, I was away from my phone. I am technically the 4th owner, but 3rd family. 1st owner traded it in 2004. 2nd owner had it until 2018, then passed it to his daughter (she would be 3rd, but it was gifted from father to daughter). I bought it in 2020 and all records, etc transferred to me... which I'll provide to next buyer too. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you
@BLowel, are you third or fourth owner? Sorry . Looked at carfax… as here its said you purchased 2020?..
@MBstyle I have a copy of first registration... let me know if you have any questions... I probably have a receipt for it...
@MBstyle all the hydraulics for the top were replaced by Tafel Motors/Mercedes of Louisville as the $6K receipt shows....since the car us garaged, I leave the top down a lot, maybe you're seeing creases from it being folded. gaskets for transmission replaced 74k mi, etc we're also replaced by Tafel , seals crankshaft, transmission, gasket covers, replaced 97k mi, Tafel Motors. First registration date 1/12/93... car fax clearly shows the date. Thnx
@BLowel, sorry … i see on Database car is produced Sept 1992. Can you give exact first registration date please? As this is important for my registration . Exsct month and year documented. Either the first MB inspect report fir garantee or first title.. thx a lot …
@BLowel. Thx for your kind reply. No lezks at engine, gearbox and rear axle? The softtop is the org one, right? Pic 17-spec 18 and 19- 20 do show a kind of … how to say… its not stretched as it should be.. i cant zoom in the pics on ly iphone here i will check on pc… chancf to get close up pics of the soft top.. mainly the left and right rear side parts should be straight. As the hydraulic cylinder had been changed .. they have to be adjusted…? These softtops are for specialsts to calibrate them leveled. Sorry for my remarks but these points are the points. The engines with regular oil and filter change go for 150k mls, than might be gasket change and good for another 150k mls.., i have two of them. Third one did 380k mls! Thx Z
@MBstyle hello... Yes. All electric items work as they should, window motors are quick, ac is cold, all lights, wipers and cruise control functional... no known issues. All drain lines are open to the best of my knowledge....no known issues... car has not been in the elements since my ownership and the same was conveyed to me from the previous owner. I didn't take pics of underside... we were pushing a deadline to get it posted. There is no rust on the car. I hope this helps. Thank you! It is a well maintained, documented and unmolested survivor.
@BLowel, this is indeed a very clean car. . Do all electr.parts are working correct? Undercarriage pictures are not available? All waterdrains are clean and open? Thx a lot…,
This car has been meticulously maintained by the Mercedes dealership where it was purchased by the original owner. The original owner was one of the founders of Brown-Forman, one of the largest suppliers of spirits and wine in NorthAmerica. It drives and runs very quiet and smooth. I love focusing the hood ornament on the road ahead of me. I get a lot of looks, comments and thumbs up when driving it.. I hate parting with such a complete example of MB excellence, but I'm thinning the herd due to space/storage constraints. Sale includes 2 keys and the factory MB black rubber mats.
