The perfect SLK: The R171 AMG. Mercedes really perfected the SLK with the R171 by putting the renowned 5.4L M113 V8 under the hood and sharpening up the body lines. From a performance standpoint, the car could get from zero to 60 mph in under 5 seconds and would leave any passersby in a blur. While perfectly adequate in its stock form, this example includes a plethora of tasteful performance modifications which add to the sporty appeal without disrupting its luxury-oriented roots. Aftermarket wheels and suspension ensure a taught and nimble ride while the resonator delete provides the V8 growl which AMG is so well known for. While 144k miles isn’t low, the M113 has proved itself as a reliable power plant and the recent maintenance offers additional peace of mind. For an enthusiast looking for a new addition to the garage, this SLK55 offers an affordable entrance into V8 AMG performance.

@tyinsky Unfortunately it didn't. We try to be as flexible as we could by having pretty low reserve (much lower than its currently listed online) however bidding did not reach that. we are open to sell the vehicle to our original reserve. I would want to give the credit of the sale to MBM, if the customer reaches us trough here. People work behind the curtain to make this marketplace what it is, are incredibly talented, kind and genuine. I say that with all sincerity.
@hansom @thembmarket – did this sell (reserve not met)?
Congratulations @MRAMG 👏

@tyinsky Here’s video of the cold start. Please let me know if the link doesn’t work. Sorry for the quality had to record it with my phone, to do it quick. Happy bidding ✌🏼 https://youtu.be/6fx6oZWxMWI?si=HSt_6_-kQkeWfEIR
@Hansom Thank you
@tyinsky Sorry I’m out of town, didn’t see the comment. Hood is flush its just the photo makes it look like that. Also car is on eiback spring not h&r, however original springs and wheels included with this sale. Front bumper has been refinished in oem spec (common for this cars, because front bumper hangs so low) fenders you refer to, just the way the light hits on camera, they are not rolled, all stock. I’ll try my best to get cold start video before the auction ends. You can bid we confidence, we have sold multiple cars here on MBM and have hood reputation. Please let me know if I missed anything I’ll be happy to answer any questions.

@Hansom, I addressed the tag on my questions to another bidder instead of you (new to the MB Market platform). The image above is the bit I am referring to, my concern being the front/leading edge of the front wheel arches on both sides – the seem a little folded in? It could be a trick of the light I guess, however I can see it on both sides at every angle. The second shot below is how they appear on every other photo I look at of another SLK55 in silver. A couple of photos close up and at a lower angle here would clear this one up. Thanks.
@AMGnoah – thank you for bringing this one to the hammer. Were you the person listing it on Craigslist a few weeks back? Car looks really nice considering the miles, and hopefully the engine and transmission have some life in them for the next guy 💪 Regarding the paint and bodywork: Photographs 21 and 22 – the hood and panel gap is raised and out of alignment here Photographs 9, 10 and 16 – headlamps are not correctly aligned to the front bumper/pu Photographs 3, 6 and others – the lower rocker panel/side skirts are a different shade of silver Have you had a paint meter over the panels? Not concerned about the car having some paint, just trying to work out why. Front wheel arches on the leading edge where they meet the bumper – are these edges correct? It may be a trick of the light, they seem a little folded? Do you know/can you see if the wheel arches have been rolled to allow for the lower ride height from the H&R lowering springs? Do the wheels hit the arches at all when going over bumps, turning in over dropped kerbs etc? Could you get a cold start video for the bidders please. Might give some comfort to those of us thinking about piston wear. Lastly, does the air conditioning blow absolutely ice cold?

@AMGnoah no oil leaks what so ever.
$5,555 bid placed by @ScottJ
Hello any oil leaks from the valve covers, rear main seal etc?
@Ozzy0505 adhesive on door-carts dry out, it’s pretty common on them. Very easy fix. Otherwise it is in great condition, you would be correct. This car puts a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel. Power from this legendary engine is just silly in this vehicle. Lol.
$750 bid placed by @Jmoss57
What’s going on with the door panels? Are they coming unglued? That’s all I see wrong with this very nice car?
$500 bid placed by @Toni1990
Beautiful car!
