This 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTEC was originally sold to a well-known NHL player by Globe Motor Car Company of Fairfield, New Jersey and has remained with that original owner until its acquisition by the selling dealer in 2021. It is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. The vehicle is finished in Calcite White (650) over Cashmere (154) MB-Tex and equipped with a panoramic sunroof, three rows of seating, Airmatic adjustable suspension, COMAND navigation system, rear seat entertainment, head-up display, PRE-Safe, Blind Spot Assist, rear camera, heated steering wheel, Memory Package, Exterior Chrome Package and more. Maintenance in preparation for the sale included an overhaul of the airmatic suspension system, installation of four new Kumho tires, and an oil/fluid service. This GL350 now shows 72k miles and is offered by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The vehicle is finished in Arctic White (650) and features a panoramic sunroof, a power-operated tailgate, Exterior Chrome flourishes on the body & trim, roof rails, trailer coupling, LED daytime running lamps and more. The Carfax report lists no damage or accidents throughout the course of its one-owner history. The original owner remediated blemishes including rock chips on the front of the hood and by the driver’s side rear wheel lip. Factory 20″ wheels appear free of curbing or major blemishes and are wrapped in brand new Kumho Crugen tires which were installed in preparation for the sale. The height-adjustable Airmatic suspension system can be raised approximately three inches by the driver and is reported to work as intended with no sagging or deflation when parked for long periods. According to the seller, the suspension was reportedly overhauled at Mercedes-Benz of Orange County in Harriman, NY in June 2021.
The cabin is upholstered in Cashmere MB-Tex with matching carpets, a two-tone dash, and a wood-trimmed center console and door panels. Amenities include power-adjustable and heated front seats w/Memory Package, Head-Up display, PRE-Safe automatic braking, Blind Spot Assist, rear view camera, heated steering wheel, COMAND navigation system with a six-disc in-dash CD/DVD changer, Bluetooth hands-free calling, two LCD screens and wireless headphones for second-row passengers, and a power-folding third row bench.
Instrumentation framed by the leather-trimmed steering wheel consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, a fuel level gauge, an analog clock, and a monochrome onboard computer display. The digital odometer shows just over 72k miles; all of which were added by the sole, original owner. The selling dealer notes that one of the center vent louvers for the climate control system requires adjustment as it is loose and will not stay aimed upwards.
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 was factory-rated at 210 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque when new. The Carfax displays 25 service visits and a strong dealer service history throughout the life of the vehicle. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. Additional photos of the underside are viewable in the gallery.

While CDIs reign supreme when it comes to Mercedes Diesels of the 2000s, Stuttgart got its act together with the much-maligned BlueTec Diesel system by 2012 and wiped the proverbial soot from the marque’s famous diesel heritage. Expanding the diesel range beyond just sedans and wagons, the GL350 BlueTec showed that “clean diesel” could exist in a platform that seats seven, hauls luggage, tows trailers and climbs through inclement weather due to its fantastic 4Matic feet. This particular example has clearly lived a pampered Paramus existence and shows little-to-no evidence of having gone anywhere but Whole Foods, Starbucks, and the dealer. With no accidents or damage, and a single ownership history with strong dealer service documentation, this white whale of a diesel SUV checks all the boxes for a perfectly privileged pavement prowler providing proper parrying around any avenues you choose. While many of these shows the scars of kids and crayons corralled in the cabin, this example appears as fresh as the driven snow it’s never (apparently) been driven in! This is a tremendous amount of well-loved Mercedes for the money and should be tempting for any practical (or procreating) person with a penchant for MBs.

@lohengrin I’m looking into getting the maintenance records. I will keep you posted. Thanks@UKCHAP The datacard/build sheet for this example shows "Option 438: Head Up Display Classic". That refers to the ability to be able to view GPS/navigation and other advanced menu items on the gauge cluster screen (located between the speedometer and tachometer). This is different from what is now commonly referred to as a "heads-up display" (one that is reflected off of the windshield). A copy of the datacard has been added to the gallery for clarification. Thank you.You mentioned Heads Up Display but I don’t see one on the dash in front of the driver or knew that was even an option… Are you referencing to the digital display in the Multi-Function display?
