This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL was first titled and registered in Florida on August 12, 1987 by the original owner after buying a pair of 126’s for himself and his wife. Finished in Champagne Metallic (473) over Beige Leather (275), this sedan is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The lineage of this car can be traced back to the original owner as it’s changed hands privately throughout each ownership. Refurbishment started when the current owner took possession of the car in 2019 and immediately sent it to Pierre Hedary & Co. Documented maintenance includes a new, taller rear differential for modern highway capability, new vacuum lines, a new fuel tank, new cooling system, and new air conditioning. This W126 shows 120k miles and is offered by the seller with factory literature, service records, the original Florida owner's identity plate, a clean Carfax, and a clean Alabama title.
The car is finished in Champagne Metallic (473) with contrasting brown lower body cladding and paintwork that is reported to be original. Also original is the glass with OEM logos displayed and no delamination visible in the rear window. Exterior features include European Market glass headlamps, original brightwork, a power sunroof, power antenna, and an aftermarket tow receiver under the rear bumper.
Factory 15″ wheels wear 205/70 Michelin Defender tires showing 2019 date codes. The tires were installed by the current owner.
The cabin is trimmed in Beige Leather (275) with color-coordinated trim, carpets, and lower dashboard. OEM floor mats have been replaced with Brown Cocomats for all four seats. The steering wheel, shift knob, and upper dashboard are trimmed in black and remain original. Refinished Zebrano wood adorns the dashboard, center console, and door card trim. Factory features include a power-operated sunroof, central locking, power seats and windows, and an aftermarket Continental Head Unit featuring bluetooth connectivity and OEM-similar backlighting for cabin continuity. All power features are reportedly working and operational. The seller n otes the original Becker head unit will be included in the sale and is fully fuctional.
A four-spoke black steering wheel with integrated airbag frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-RPM tachometer with an inset analog clock, an external temperature readout, and a combination gauge showing fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit analog odometer shows 120k original miles, approximately 3,200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel inline-six was factory-rated for 121 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with an upgraded rear differential for higher cruising speeds. Pierre Hedary & Company oversaw refurbishment for the current owner with recent work including new vacuum lines, a new fuel tank, new cooling system, and new air conditioning.
The attached Carfax report lists no accidents or damage along with linear mileage updates since new. This W126 shows 120k miles and has been kept in a climate controlled facility under current ownership. The car is offered by the seller with factory literature, service records, the original Florida owner's identity plate, a clean Carfax, and a clean Alabama title. Videos have been provided by the seller.
A feature video has been included from the seller and Pierre Hedary & Company showing and discussing the 300SDL.

Love seeing the Zebrano wood without fading and cracks. As Pierre says, these cars were purpose built and the interior rings true giving you everything you could ever want without the tacky screens and pointless buttons that have plagued the modern automobile.

It would indeed do that, with that ring and pinion. 126s are great turnpike cars.

@Jim_Rosenthal - Yes Jim. All records are available. Also - 2.47. It’s truly amazing. It will run 80 on the interstate at 2900 RPM and make nearly 30 mpg.
@Jvaldora - Yes. Pierre is the one of the best if not the best vintage MB refurbishers or refreshers in the country. That is why he is the only one who has provided the car with service. He is also available should any serious enquirers have any questions about completed work.
If Pierre Hedary has gone through this car, it’s well sorted!
Mr. Hedary's shop is extremely thorough. Are there service records that come with this distinguished car? Also, what is the current rear axle ratio, if known? Thank you.
