This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was sold new in Maine and later shows registration in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York where it resides with its current owner showing just 73k miles from new. Finished in Signal Red (568) over Black Leather (271), power is provided by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes a paint-matched removable hardtop with stand, a black soft top, 15” Gullideckel wheels, automatic climate control, an upgraded Mercedes-Benz stereo and an automatic power antenna. Recent service includes a full fluid check with an oil and oil filter change along with a new air filter. This 1989 560SL is now offered for sale in Nanuet, New York with the original manufacturer’s literature, a full-size spare, first aid kit, a clean Carfax report and a clean New York title.
The exterior is finished in Signal Red (568) with chrome accenting the window trim, beltline and bumpers. The paint-matched removable hardtop features an electrically-heated rear pane along with a stand for storage. The black soft top was recently replaced within the past two years. The paint is in good condition with no signs of rust and paint meter readings have been included by the seller.
Fitted are the factory 15” Gullideckel wheels which wear Michelin rubber showing date codes from 2008. The wheels are in good condition with only minor chips and scratches. A factory full-size spare is included in the trunk.
The cabin is trimmed in Black Leather (271) with Burl Walnut wood trim on the center console and dash. The wood trim shows minor signs of cracking near the gear shifter. Interior features include automatic climate control with air conditioning, a power adjustable passenger side door mirror, an automatic power antenna, a folding center armrest and an outside temperature indicator mounted in the dash.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer with other instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer, fuel level and economy indicators, coolant temperature, oil pressure and an analog clock. The six-digit odometer currently shows 73k miles from new. Controls for the cruise control are mounted to the steering column.
This R107 roadster is powered by a 5.5-liter M117 which is factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent maintenance includes a full fluid check along with replacement of all filters.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates starting in 2001 and shows no accidents or damage reports. This 560SL is now offered for sale in Nanuet, New York with original manufacturer’s literature, a full-size spare, first aid kit, a clean Carfax and a clean New York title.
A walk-around video has been provided by the seller.

The R107 was a staple in the Mercedes-Benz line-up for nearly two decades and this 1989 model year is one of the later face lift cars which includes the more powerful 5.5-liter M117 V8. Unlike most customers who went for a muted color palette, this R107 is finished in an eye-catching Signal Red which truly compliments the strong lines of the R107. Showing just 73k miles and with a recently replaced soft top, this example would be a phenomenal addition to any enthusiast’s collection providing a classic top-down Mercedes-Benz experience.

Not much more iconic than signal red on a 107. Amazing that these were 60K+ in the late 80s!
