This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL was sold new to its original owner in 1990 by GT Motorcar Company of Erie, Pennsylvania. The car was previously sold on The MB Market where the winning bidder failed to complete the transaction with no fault to the seller or vehicle. The initial owner kept the car registered in Pennsylvania for nearly 30 years showing regular maintenance and documented services. The seller, and second owner, acquired this car in 2018 and has added approximately 2k of the total 92k original miles. The car is finished in Black (040) with a Black Leather (261) interior and is powered by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Features include heated and power adjustable front and rear seats, a power operated sunroof, ASR automatic slip control, cruise control, and original 15” Gullideckel wheels. The car is now offered by the seller with two keys, complete documentation, factory literature, a clean Carfax, 94 pages of extensive service history from new, and a clean New York title in the seller's name.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) paint with a contrasting dark gray lower body cladding. The seller notes small paint imperfections such as a small scratch on the front bumper and a minor rust spot appearing below the rear window that's only visible with the trunk open. The glass headlights feature a wiper and washer system as well as a set of integrated fog lamps. The exterior also features chrome trim lining the front and rear bumpers, belt line, and windows. Detailed photos are provided in the gallery.
This 560SEL comes with the original 15” Gullideckel wheels wrapped in Michelin Defender All-Season tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners with 2017 date codes. The wheels are in good condition with only minor blemishes visible. Included in the trunk is a full size spare with a matching Michelin Defender tire. The car comes standard with disc brakes on all four wheels equipped with ABS and self-leveling rear suspension.
The interior of this 560SEL is finished in Black Leather (261) and features a gloss-finish wood trim lining the dash, door panels and center console. The dash is protected by a cover and shows no cracks or other blemishes under the cover. Both front and rear seats are power adjustable and heated. Both front seats include two memory positions with the driver’s side settings including the position of the power adjustable steering column. Other amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, power operation of the metal sunroof and an electrically heated rear window.
This 560SEL is powered by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 which produced 238hp and 287 lb-ft of torque when new. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The most recent service included an oil change in July 2022 and a New York state inspection being performed in August 2022.
This car comes with an extensive and thorough service history which includes 94 pages and a stamped maintenance log which dates back to when the car was sold new. Photos of the documentation and log book are included in the photo gallery below. The seller has also included two keys, original manufacturer’s literature, tool kit and the original window sticker for the car. This car is being offered for sale with a clean New York title and a clean CarFax showing just two owners and no accident or damage reports.

Additional photos of the engine bay have been added to the listing.
@MB12 The VIN tags on the quarter panels taken from inside the trunk are image 169 and 173. The VIN tag in the trunk lid itself is image 176. Everything works as intended, and nothing is in need of repair at this time. I will likely be able to get additional engine compartment pics around noon EST today. Can you send me a message via the message seller feature incase I am unable to get the additional pictures uploaded promptly so I can send them to you directly?
Is there anything that is not working or in need of repair?
Do you have any other pictures of the engine bay showing the radiator? Also are there VIN tags on the inside trunk panel ?

@MB12 I do not have any records showing that the timing chain was replaced. Image 66 shows the small rust spot on the right side below the rear window only visible when the trunk lid is open.
Was the timing chain done? Where is the rust on the vehicle?
@Red_Euro_SL @MB12 Kindly refer to the "New to The MB Market? Learn How it Works!" link at the top of the homepage or contact us directly if you have further questions. Thank you and good luck to all bidders.
@MB12 There is not a buy it now option.
New to this. Is there a buy now option?
@Cahrens The car is very turn key and ready to be driven. The original owner had a very open checkbook approach to maintaining this vehicle. In my 4+ years of ownership, the only non routine service was Valve Cover Gasket replacement. The first driving video shows a very even operating temperature on 74 degree day with the A/C on.
@Davidsbenz560 The invoice is now uploaded showing the rear suspension refresh in 2011 approximately 5,000 miles ago.
Any mechanical issues which would bar one from driving cross country or daily driving?
$2,500 bid placed by @Maxwylie
@Davidsbenz560 Image 66 shows the only presence of rust on any body panel. I believe it is a total of 97 MB Dealership Service/Maintenance invoices from the original ownership shown in Image 177 that I am happy to review in further detail with any interested party upon request. I will comment more specifically on the items in question when I am back at the house. I recall seeing an invoice covering rear accumulator replacement within the past 10 years or so, but I will upload a copy of that invoice within 24 hours.
Those seats have springs, any seats broken ? Any service on rear air lift ? Front end bushings, control arms ? Any rust around wheel wells or anywhere else, it's from update Pa
Ok. Thank you for your response.
@mhs244 Thanks for your inquiry. The winning bidder of the original auction went silent a couple of days after the conclusion of the auction. He did not attempt to follow through with his purchase committment in any way, so I have to assume he did not have the financial resources to complete the transaction.
Hi. Could you please elaborate why did the winner of the bid walk away from the car after seeing it? It seems odd that after battling out and repeatedly out bidding the other bidder in the last moments of the auction, the winner decided to walk away and agreed to losing his deposit and getting banned.
