This 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLK32 AMG was sold new through Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria, Virginia and remained dealer-serviced through 2016. In March of 2017 the current owner purchased the car and has added approximately 10k miles. Finished in Alabaster White (960) over AMG Anthracite Leather (881), this AMG Roadster is powered by a supercharged 3.2-liter M112 V6 paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The odometer currently shows 56,783 original miles. Features include cruise control, dual-zone climate control, a power folding hard top, heated seats, a Passport 9500IX radar and laser detector, and an aftermarket stereo including head unit and amplifier. Preventative maintainance in preparation for the sale includes a transmission service, belt replacement, and pulley replacement. The car is now being offered by the seller with an included clean Carfax report showing regular service, the factory toolkit, manufacturer’s literature, enthusiast literature from Mercedes-Benz, a fitted car cover, two keys, and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in Alabaster White (960) and features AMG styling including sculpted bumpers, side skirts, and a lip spoiler on the decklid. The paintwork shows nicely with no dings or dents and according to the attached Carfax, this example has not been in any accidents. The owner does note two scuffs at the bottom of the front bumper. In preparation of the sale, the car has been detailed and received a paint correction and ceramic coating. Exterior features include a power folding hard top, front fog lamps, and a smarttop remote module. A small imperfection in the base coat has been noted at the left bottom of the rear window. A body shop has inspected and verified.
Original 17” AMG wheels are fitted and wear Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 in the rear. The original wheels show no signs of curb rash and measure 17x7.5” in the front and 17x8.5” in the rear.
In the cabin, the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, and door cards are trimmed in AMG Anthracite Nappa Leather (881) with an Anthracite upper dash and center console. The seller notes the heated seats are no longer active but the car will come with OEM replacement heating elements. The center console shows some light flaking commonly seen on R170's. Black Birdseye Maple veneer accents the center console, shift surround, and door cards. An additional wood veneer shift knob will be included in the sale. The stereo in this example has been modified with an Alpine 4-channel amplifier, a Bluetooth-controlled analog VU meter unit in place of the OEM Becker head unit, and Infinity Kappa series speakers including polycell tweeters. The doors have had sound deadening installed. Photos of the installation are included in the gallery and original stereo components will be included in the sale.
The sport leather steering wheel frames a 180-mph analog speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer with trip function showing 56,783 miles. Additional gauges include fuel level and coolant temperature, along with a digital clock and temperature gauge. The digital LCD screens present as they should and show no signs of de-pixelation or fading.
The AMG-tuned 3.2-liter M112 supercharged V6 was rated at 349 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission. Approximately 742 SLK32 AMG’s were built for the North American market in 2003. Included in the sale are various spare parts and documentation. Recent preventative maintainance includes a transmission service, belt replacement, and pulley replacement. Prior to the sale, the owner scheduled a pre-purchadse inspection with an indepent repair shop, the results are shown in the gallery.
This SLK32 is now being offered by the selling dealer with an included clean Carfax report showing regular service, the factory toolkit, manufacturer’s literature, enthusiast literature from Mercedes-Benz, a fitted car cover, two keys, and a clean California title.
A video below shows a walk around of the car, the hardtop being exercised both up and down, driving clips, engine start-up, and the upgraded sound system in action.

@Armenian Hi and thanks for your interest. The special interest license plate doesn’t stay with the car, it will be transferred to my second car. If you end up winning the auction for at least $1K over my reserve price, I’ll include it. 😉 good luck bidding!
Saw the video, so in California the license plate comes with the car right?

Hi @drcooledge and thanks for your interest. The original head unit was replaced with a custom 3D printed panel that hosts 2 analog VU meters. You can see them work in the last section of the video. Mounted behind the panel is a high-end Wondom (a Sure Electronics brand) Bluetooth 5 receiver board, hooked up via RCA cables to an alpine MRV F300 4 x 50W amplifier that is mounted under the passenger footwell in place of the original Bose amplifier. I upgraded the power cables and added a custom fuse. The original Bose subwoofers have not been replaced or modified. Note that there is no radio or CD, only Bluetooth. That's the reason I removed the original antenna and capped it with a 3D printed cover. I did not remove the CD changer from the trunk, and all its fiber optics wiring are in tact in case you want to install the original head unit back. The original head unit (including it's code card), amplifier, antenna, and speakers will be provided as part of the sale. Hope that helps. Stay safe. Ami
What is the brand and model of the replacement head unit?
