@MikeBar0-60 mph in 4.3 Seconds is not a big deal nowadays. A 1LT base Stingray will do it in under 3 seconds. I think the this car strong points are it's a very nice well built quality and function Mercedes, Legendary!
After watching the driving video, I noticed that the tach was climbing but the speedometer was steady around 40 mph. Does the clutch slip or is it slipping when you give it gas in gear and pedal all the way out? Thanks
Interior needs some serious cleaning.
Maybe someone interested will take this beauty to Armenia, he he.
It looks like the seat inserts were changed.
Do the options: night view assist, distronic, heated/cooled/vented seats, rear headrest control and rear shade all work as they should? and has the front windshield been changed? Missing the Daimler sticker on passenger side?
My only concern is that the CarFax lists last oil change and filter was performed at 58K milies in Ga. in February of 2019. Are there any service records showing subsequent oil/filter service performed to the CarFax documentation? The VMI only goes to 2017, probably requested by owner selling at that time.
Wow!
Do the driver and passenger front seats air bolsters work?
@Lookn007 The M113 5.4 never had a "head bolt" issue. It is one of the best motors Mercedes made, like @YAFA replied, 200k miles is no problem. You probably confused the 5.4 V-8 with the later 6.2 V-8 which did have head bolt issues for about a year and a half or two years of production. So from initial production date to about 2009 or early 2010, but best way is check the serial number against the official list. Hope that cleared it up for you but rest assured this M113 is "bulletproof"!

Oh oh look like the battle is on!
@Bad_Idea_Dante I see where you get your name, LOL. NO you cant take the Lithium battery out and just use the gas engine. If the lithium battery power drops to I think 15% it will not start. If one of the many Lithium cells go bad it will drag down the rest of them eventually. There are 3 or four components that check and charge the cells and keep everything balanced because if it starts overheating the charging will stop at a certain temperature it will disconnect totally from electrical system. You need the dealer to recharge it if the voltage drops off past a certain point and it needs to be charged with a powerful charger but within a very specific voltage range. So nice try but No, engine only won't work. It's about $15k to have it replaced and Mercedes change everything. Seller states that the Hybrid lithium battery checks out. I believe him but you don't know when it will go. hope for the best.
Looks like a great car, very pleasing to the eye but after looking up the hybrid battery and the related relays, if for any reason any one of those components fail it will domino effect and every one of them have to be changed. Unfortunately without a factory warranty I am apprehensive on bidding. GLWA!
Does the watch come with the car?
Does it have DOT/USA compliance stickers in door jamb.? Or is it a Euro spec. model?
@MBCLFANTASTIC! Thanks so much for that info. I l'll remember lastvin.com Muchos gracias, danka shun, merci, blgodaria, spah-ceba, teshekurederim, arigato,xie-xie!
@Static50@Static Yes, 50 Extremely Rare! I'm not sure where you get the statistics for the builds by model options and year. Anyone here knows how to get that info, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
@MBCL Interior color name and interior color code? Some MB whiz out there please help! It is absolutely phenomenal!
Delicious, interior! What color is that? Anyone that is knowledgeable can say the color name and or color code. I NEED TO KNOW!!! Thanks,
I'm sure everything is ok but if you don't get some screens eventually the airflow volume going across radiators will decrease quite a bit. Those cooling fins are very fragile and get slowly dinged up if not protected. I hope I'm wrong but it looked like there were a few fins dinged up. Need better close ups. Maybe you could get some close up pictures of the radiators to put our minds at ease.
Anyone know the cost of replacing the front left and right lower aux radiators? I see the cooling fins are quite distorted. I know the C8 Corvette has the same problem as with a few other makes with similar radiators, the fins get rock chip dents. An auxiliary screen is recommended to protect from the rocks. I always thought the manufacturer should have thought of that to begin with.
@Vlad600selC'mon, you know you want it! Just tell the ol'Lady a few less Gucci handbags and you got this one! This one is really a Unicorn!
@alykozmoThe bottom seat cushions pop out from the bottom side of seat. Look carefully and you will see the plastic retainers that you can push up from bottom towards the roof direction and the cushion should pop up and out. Once it's out you can have it reupholstered or look for replacement. Look at https://relicate.com/products/nappa-italia-leather?variant=43107209281770
Will you take one of my children in exchange for this beauty? LOL! Fantastic ride! PERIOD!
So here we have a very rare E55 AMG. 2002 Designo. It is full loaded from what I see,parktronic,heated/cooled vented ortho seats, navigation. Having pointed out the good now the bad, mileage is low but looks like this car needs a lot of attention to get it like new. These cars were bulletproof and I think very under appreciated that is why they were not looked after as a more exotic brand would be. So if this car was perfect with under 30k I could see $50-$60K, maybe even more but then it depends how bad the buyer wants it. The rubber moldings between the front fender and rocker panel have deteriorated and are gone but I just replaced them on my 2001 E55 Amg for $126 dollars from the dealership. I was surprised they were even able to order them but were available from MB USA. My E55 is not a "Designo" but has all the other options including an upgraded "Tele-Aide" working with lifetime subscription. I'm @20K miles on mine, still smells new. Headliner starting to come down on mine too. All in all great cars but this one needs a lot of TLC. BTW I did happen to find a COMPLETE Designo "Mocca" interior including steering wheel and door cards. GLWA
@AMGguyJust sent mine out for repair $149. Two day turn around. I agree it is an easy fix. But I disagree that it's rare occurrence. Every C/E class I've owned had same issues for those years 2000-2002 all kept inside climate controlled storage. Regardless, they are unbelievable rides. Seen some go in the $45k range.
Wow. No sale. Guessing what it would have taken to make the sale? Maybe the car market has peaked and we are on the down side
Beautiful example of W210 E55! Curious if the instrument panel was sent out for pixel repair in the past? I have never seen one of these to be in original factory condition so many years without repair. My 2001 E55 has only 19k miles is kept in climate control environment and still have a few of the pixels dying. Also my headliner is starting to sag in rear but these are very common minor issues these cars have. I will redo the headliner my self in "Alcantara" supplied by Relicate which is the same as OEM Mercedes/BMW and other car makers choice from the factory. Yes I am talented like that. It takes me about 3 days but the job I do is like the factory does it. Biggest problem doing headliner is removing it with all the old plastic pieces and clips tending to break. Once removed the rest is easy, although the sun visor mirrors tend to deteriorate and new OEM sun visors are hard to find. Once the job is done it's a very fulfilling feeling knowing you saved a bunch but even more that the job is done right! GLWA.
I have the same 2001 E55 AMG in black over charcoal leather. There seems to be a few common problems with these facelift W210's (and other MB models of those years), Headliner drooping, pixels in dash dying, rear window regulators crapping out, but these are so minor compared with the value. All these small issues can be avoided if not leaving parked outside. Leaving any vehicle constantly parked outside is a no no as the sun is brutal to any car after years of exposure. Having said that, these rare AMG versions of the W210 are "Bullet Proof" monsters. They seem to be extremely underrated which is a good thing for buyers. My E55 has the "parktronic", Nav, Vented seats and upgraded Tele-Aid(still connected and working) which is extremely rare. This gorgeous example is extremely desirable to people who understand the market. I am just curious: Was there any head work done to address the supercharger/compression issue since they came with 10.25:1 compression from the factory. Lowering the factory compression would allow more boost from the supercharger and figuring out the pulley size on the supercharger to make it compatible. Thank you
Yes, this is a very rare "highly optioned" 2001 E55 AMG. I have the same one but with only 19k miles. These examples were so rare I don't think Mercedes kept separate production numbers on these optioned examples. If anyone here has any idea on how many Nav/Parktronic/Vented seats examples there were in 2001 please let us know your source. Interestingly I have only seen these options on 2001 models, not on 2000 or 2002, I may be wrong but it's my observation. In conclusion yes, very rare and will be highly sought after for people who understand the market.
Is that the original windscreen? or has it been replaced with an aftermarket windshield? I didn't see the Daimler/Benz sticker on passenger side.
Thank God the blackout accents can come off. As far as the "Tune" goes how does that not affect the warranty. I have never known a dealership/Manufacturer to warranty an ad on outside product and keep the original warranty. Please clarify how this is possible. Thanks.
If it had vented heated/cooled seats, parktronic and active working tele-aid it would be like my 2001 E55. I think my E55 with 18k miles must be just as desirable as this one, at least, maybe a bit rarer with the options mentioned. I'll be keeping a close eye on this unicorn. GLWA! Beautiful!
@ChucktownJThe drivers side headlight had some yellowing but after the pictures were taken I had the headlights polished and they are fine now. No worries.
Dear Bidders, there are NO TEARS in the top and it seals perfectly!! GLWA and bid to win!
@JZSL The car is in central Florida, Viera (Melbourne) Thank you and I hope that answeres your question.
@Apabonds Hello and thank you for your question too. Yes there are a few small scratches that the camera did not pick up because they are so small. I have not noticed anything other than what's in the pictures. Please look at all the pictures in the listing and bid if you are satisfied. Thank you.
@ChucktownJHi and thanks for the question. To be perfectly direct there id NO MISMATCH on any of the wheels all original AMG rims with like new Michelins. Thanks
In case many of you might not know, Mercedes Benz is stopping production of V-8/V-12 vehicles. All these V-8/V-12 AMG cars will become the "Hemi" Versions of Mercedes. Get them now while they are still affordable, ten years from now you'll be sorry you didn't. Your conversation at some auto show will go like this: "I remember when you could get these AMG's for under $20k, now they're $100k". GLWA!!
@cars4thppl My reply would be to check the carfax as it had some extensive service records last I looked and see if any mention of brakes service. If not I can further look into it and check out the pad/rotors to get some idea. Thank you.
@PJP2809Thank you so much for that great question. Definitely NON-SMOKER Vehicle!!
@gixsoHello and thank you for the question. I do have 2 key fobs but one is not working. Not sure why, maybe need contacts cleaned inside fob but really not sure.
Remember folks this is a NO RESERVE auction, right now this is a hands down bargain steal price. Thank you all for bidding and whoever gets this car will be very happy.
@sosweede Vehicle is located in Florida. Thanks for asking.
Actually the 1999 models are pretty rare in the USA. I think it was the first year MB imported them to US specs.
Beautiful and TIMELESS!
Saw the video, so in California the license plate comes with the car right?
In case the new owner needs some parts to freshen up this beauty lmk I can help.
Wondering if this beauty has "Night View" and the "bluetooth" adapter??? Thanks?
@static50 I just noticed that there is no "Daimler-Benz" sticker on the windscreen, can you advise if windshield has been changed and if so is it "OEM" or aftermarket, as I had to change my S550 windshield but had to use an aftermarket due to my insurance carrier requirements; later I found out that aftermarket replacements are 90% Chinese that are supposedly to MB specs. Thanks
@ProdigalPetrolHeadThanks for the reply. since the windscreen was replaced can you advise if it was an aftermarket windscreen or original Mercedes Benz part? As you can see I have great interest in this vehicle and need to properly evaluate it. Thanks
@ProdigalPetrolHead Has the windscreen been replaced? I didn't see a "Daimler Benz" sticker on the windshield. Thanks
@Static50 you said you changed all the fluids, does that include ABC fluid flush? Can you be more specific which fluids were changed and is there record(s) to show dates and type fluids replaced? Thanks
Hello, after looking at the CarFax I noticed the mileage listed under the 2nd owner don't add up to the years of ownership. Owner 2 had it for 1yr/8mo with 15k miles/yr??? What's the deal?
Looks like whomever said there is nothing perfect in this world never saw this car, or should I say automotive art in motion!
Value: Rims=$2000,Headlights =$500, Tail lights=300, Trunk lid=$200, Front doors $350x2=$700, Hood=$500, rear doors,$250x2=$500 just right there you have in parts worth half the price right now. Just in parts this car is worth $15k-$18k
if this car sells under $15k it will be a great investment. I see these cars prices climbing through the roof next 5 years. better than many other investments.
Such a beautiful car, but needs some serious TLC.
Someone has to start it. Thanks for letting me be the first bid. Something about being the first, je ne ce quios.
@Allowitlooks like you might be right about the AMG trunk decal. That is an easy fix.
They all have the drooping headliner issue as it looks like this one has. Does anyone know a repair shop that can do it without breaking the fasteners that hold the interior pillar moldings, some metal along windshield and between the front and rear doors, some are plastic along the rear sail panels that the seat belts go through. I have a 2001 with same issue and do not want to do it myself.
Too bad not any full length pictures of the front seats. Would have liked to see the current condition. Also pictures of under the doors in open position to include some of the carriage underside. Considering the environment of winter and road salts used in New England during winter months and the amount of miles accumulated it is a factor.
@Sergey So sorry, I thought it was 8,300 miles not 83,000. That explains it.
HRE rims? Whats the story on the originals with such low miles?

@Apabonds Hello and thank you for your question too. Yes there are a few small scratches that the camera did not pick up because they are so small. I have not noticed anything other than what's in the pictures. Please look at all the pictures in the listing and bid if you are satisfied. Thank you.

Thank you.

Actually the 1999 models are pretty rare in the USA. I think it was the first year MB imported them to US specs.

Thanks
