This 4.2L M116-swapped 1992 Mercedes-Benz 200GE was ordered new in Italy and has underwent extensive modification. The truck was previously sold on The MB Market and is being relisted due to a buyer who was unable to follow through their obligation. Finished in Arctic White (147) over black leather and plaid cloth, power is provided by a 4.2-liter M116 V8 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Modifications include Recaro bucket seats, beadlock forged alloy wheels, dual side-exit stainless exhaust, and lifted suspension. Additional features include power windows, power door mirrors and central locking. Now showing 65k km, approximately 40k miles, this G wagen is offered by the selling dealer in Aalen, Germany with partial service history and a clean Italian title.
The body is finished in Arctic White (147) with contrasting satin black bumpers, trim and headlight grilles. Exterior features include fog lamps front and rear, a rear window wiper, power door mirrors, central locking and dual side-exit stainless exhaust tips. The seller reports minor touch up work with no signs of rust or damage present on the body.
16” forged alloy Terrafirma TF100 beadlock wheels have been fitted and wear Maxxis Creepy Crawler all-terrain tires which measure 35x12.50. A spare steel wheel is mounted on the rear door and is finished in black. Modifications performed in Italy in 2018 included a suspension lift of 4 cm along with reinforced shock absorbers, polyurethane suspension bushings and heat-treated steel springs.
The cabin has been reupholstered in black leather with plaid cloth inserts accenting the door panels and seats. Recaro Idealsitz Orthopad 81 bucket seats have been installed and feature partial power adjustability. Zebrano wood trim lines the center console and dashboard showing no signs of cracking or fading. Interior amenities include power front windows, sliding rear side windows, a Mercedes-Benz radio and CD player, and a set of aftermarket speakers.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation including a 180-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and a multi-gauge showing fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer currently shows 65k km, approximately 41k miles, and is noted as true mileage unknown (TMU) due to the engine swap.
The original 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was swapped with a 4.2-liter M116 V8 from a C126 420SEC which is rated for 215 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. The 5-speed manual transmission was mated to the engine using a CNC machined aluminum adapter plate which sends power to a transfer case with selectable four-wheel drive with three locking differentials. The engine was reported as having 45k km when installed with 5k km added since. Underbody photos have been included by the seller and are viewable in the gallery.
Documentation from 2018 shows a detailed list of the modifications which were performed by an off road specialist in Italy. This M116-powered G wagen is now offered for sale by the selling dealer in Aalen, Germany with partial service history and a clean Italian title.
