Just a quick reminder to all interested parties, that there are less than 15 minutes remaining.
Hello everyone, as the final hours of the auction come to a close, I will be online to answer any last minute questions. I'd also like to add that the ML has new tires with late 2021 date codes, and almost 100% tread. In addition, it's been retrofitted with facelift xenon headlights. I'll also include a spare set of carpet mats and all weather mats in the sale as well. A smog is also included in the sale for any CA buyers Best of luck.
Hello everyone, my name is OddballCarGuy, but I also go by Andrew. Listed above is my 1999 Mercedes ML430. During the course of my ownership, I've absolutely fallen in love with the ML w163 platform, and found that it has been the perfect combination of agility, comfort, size, and speed, along with a near bomb-proof m113 v8 and 5 speed. I'm sure many owners can attest to that as well. The previous owner of the car serviced it exceptionally well at a top rated euro mechanic in Sacramento, with many records listed on the CarFax. In addition, he put on new tires before he sold the car, and retrofitted facelift xenon headlights. As many of you know, most w163s today have been beaten within an inch of their lives, so nice examples with good service history are exceptionally rare nowadays, especially pre-face lift examples with original paint. This one thankfully is one of the few remaining survivors, and is ready to go to a new home. If you have any questions, photo & video requests, or simply want to talk Mercedes, please feel free to reach out.
@css008 you'd definitely need a "buddy". Cali isn't to keen on engine swaps but I suppose it's possible to legally register. Just not sure on what emission equipment is required for a m104 to pass smog.
@racerrick I just realized I'm an idiot, please discard my previous comments, underside is fine, it's just the angle of the photo.
Im refering to the metal parallel to the wheels with the sway bar running through it. It's inbetween the radiator support and cross member. It just seems suspiciously crumpled to me. My specialty is the w140 & w124 chassis so please excuse my incompetence if that's just the way it is from the factory.
Any chance you have the original OZ DTM style wheels? I remember this car in it's half orange state from a few years ago on BAT. Also, on photo 68, it appears that there is some underbody damage. Am I seeing that right?
If any US buyers are interested, the only way to import the car would be through show and display. The 6.3s rocket engine wasn't avaliable is the states so unless you have some serious pockets, you're gonna have a lot of fun getting this monster to pass epa emissions. I'd also like to add that I highly doubt any have been imported under show and display so you can't use precedence to argue your case but I'd imagine, it would still classify. Also I highly recommend reading through the options brochure, really interesting stuff. (Can be found online) This was just my own research, please do your own before trusting a man from the internet.
Just a heads up to anyone bidding, the reserve has been lowered. So make sure you don't miss out on this one ;) She's a real beauty in person
Hello Everyone. As the final hours approach, I'll be online to answer any last minute questions. To any buyers currently sitting on the fence, it's important to remember that it's always easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission ;) To everyone else, happy bidding, and don't let this 600 get away.
@Seescape An individual with excellent tastes I see;) The bid is much appreciated.
@buhzilly thanks, and good choice. The I6's are great engines but for me, nothing beats the glory, and firepower of a Mercedes v12.
@tpenziner thanks for the opening bid.
@FXRcR1Hello again, and thanks for the GLWTA. It's an incredibly special car both to me and the w140 community. Let's hope it gets the appreciation it deserves.
Hello Everyone, hope you all are doing well. My name is OddballCarGuy, but I also go by Andrew in the "real world". Over the course of the next 11 or so days, I'll be selling my glorious 600sel with the legendary m120 v12. While my opinion is ever so slightly bias, I whole harenly beleive that the 600sel is the single greatest luxury car ever built. Even today, it still stands the test of time in regards to ride comfort, quality and refinement. To any prospective buyers, you'd be pleased to know that I'm a sucker for preventative maintenance, and everything you can think of has been done, and yes, that includes the original bose sound system. Phantom of the Opera has never sounded better ;) This 600sel will give you plenty of years of trouble free enjoyment. If you have any questions or just want to talk w140, feel free to reach out. I adore these cars, and everyone at some point should own one to experience what a properly built, and throughout car feels like. Best of luck, and don't let this one go
