Thanks for confirming the details in the underside photos (it looks stock but have to ask) and the comment on the underside hasn't been touched up. Valve cover flaking is expected, so I'm good there.
This is really nice and while it's not up on a rack for underside photos I appreciate the effort to detail the underside of this car. Rust is a big issue and I'm very interested even though it's not exactly what I'm looking for simply due to the condition as it's impossible to find a 202 in my local market without some sort of rust. I have several spots where I can park it in SoCal with the closest in Pacific Beach. For the seller, could you share additional photos of the engine bay? Looking specifically at the metal "frame rails" under the washer reservoir and the same on the other side of the engine bay? There are painted brackets in those areas that could rust and while it's not a big deal, it's just something to factor into fixing. I appreciate the disclosure on the headliner. Is that a bump in the floorpan in photos 231 and 233? Hard to tell from the angle of the photo. Can you also highlight any specifics on recent work done? Any issues with the suspension rubber? Such as deteriorated links or joints? Any service or maintenance needs, cosmetic needs aside from the headliner? All fixable, just good to know.
I love that this is not silver. No offense to anyone who wants or has a silver ML55, because the ML55 in general looks amazing with a slightly aggressive (but not over-the-top) stance compared to the run-of-the-mill ML 163s. Just that silver seems to be the most common, and I'm attracted to oddball colors. Color debate aside, this is in amazing condition, and I am excited to see how far this auction goes. They exist, but finding an ultra-nice example without a ton of miles is like finding a needle in a haystack. My ML55 isn't as nice as this, and the road to making it mint is a long one. What surprises me is the availability of parts. I'm used to NLA parts with my W140, R107, my recently sold W126 and R129. But so far, everything I've needed or want to keep as back-up stock in my storage has been available for the W163 ML55. A little searching here and there, but parts exist, which is refreshing. I've been on a naturally-aspirated V8 binge, and the M113 is the sweet spot for usability and reliability.
@whester sent you an email to finalize.
@cdwatnsuI know, right? We all likely have the same questions and recycling some of the old photos from the previous listing doesn't help without some clarification from the seller.
Has the lower harness been done? Better pics of the metal surrounding the rear window?
