Well that was my first auction car I've ever won. That was terrifying. And exciting?
@DavisB I'm an Atlanta native and have actually seen your car in passing a few times and I want to say I've seen it at the Mercedes tent at C&O a few years ago unless there's an identical one rolling around. I've always wanted one of these and remember trying to find one back in 2012 when they were about $7k. It's been in my Top 10 obtainable dream car list for ages now. Hopefully we'll be getting together later this week to finish the transaction. I'll be here at 5:00 battling with these friendly LA people. Good luck to everyone!
I always told myself if I were to buy another C126, it would be a Euro market car. And this one has my all time favorite wheels on it. Amazing spec.
@UI_Classics Do you know if the car has been converted to R134a or is still running on R12 refrigerant? You should be able to tell by looking at the schrader valves at the high/low fill points. I appreciate it -- thanks!
This is probably one of my favorite cars I've seen listed on The MB Market. Amazing spec.
It's funny seeing my dad's old car on here that we sold back in 2017. Story goes, I found this car for him on Auto Trader in 2013. We're Mercedes fanatics like everyone else here and were trying to find a W124 500E. But my dad was missing his 560SECs from years ago, so we added in a C124 to the short list of cars since it was basically a baby C126. We found this one and flew from Atlanta to Seattle to buy it. It had I think 64K miles on it, owned by a local architect and was beautifully garaged kept parked next to a red R230 Sport. The accident damage that is noted on the CarFax was, as Owner #3 told us, caused from a scratch in a parking lot -- it wasn't an accident. Since he was meticulous, he brought it to a Mercedes dealership and had them fix it with an open wallet. The repair is nearly impossible to spot. Happy with that, we bought it, shipped it back, and enjoyed it. German Auto Sales and Service did the work on the car as did us since we know these inside and out since it seems half our family are classic Mercedes technicians. All of our services should still be with the car. The car was garage kept until my dad sold it to my sister (owner 5 on the CarFax) since the A/C compressor went out on her W210 E320. I remember telling her to keep up with maintenance and wash it often. It only lived outside during those 10 months of ownership when she traded it in on a 2017 Jetta, a car that suited her lifestyle more than a classic Mercedes since I relentlessly hounded her to take care of it. Hope that helps fill in some history on the car. We loved it and took very good care of it. It's funny seeing it here on The MB Market. I'm almost tempted to bid on it since I know it's a good one...
