This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Coupe comes finished in Light Beige (181) over Cognac Leather and is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The car underwent a full refurbishment in California prior to the seller's acquisition in 2019. Maintenance under the seller's care includes a rebuilt AC unit, new front and rear springs, tie rods, fuel pump, bilstein shocks, battery, brakes, spark plugs and wires, and overhauled cylinder head. Equipment includes power windows, manually-adjustable front seats, a Kuhlmeister air conditioner, a resto radio with bluetooth, front defrosters, two-speed windshield wipers, an automatic antenna and four-wheel disc brakes. Now showing just under 12k miles (TMU), this matching numbers 280SE Coupe is offered by the seller with the original manufacturer’s literature, a full-size trunk mounted spare, partial service records, and a clean New York title.
The exterior is finished in Light Beige (181) and chrome trim lining the bumpers, side sills, grille, and window frames along with dual chrome exhaust tips. During the restoration process the car underwent a full repaint in the original color according to color code. Vertically-stacked quad headlights are mounted up front framing the grille and park lamps. Exterior equipment includes an automatic antenna, a driver-side door mirror and two-speed wipers with a windshield washer system. The seller reports that the car shows no signs of rust or prior damage with paintwork reportedly performed during the restoration.
14” wheels wear paint-matched caps with chrome lips and come fitted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires measuring 195/75. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. The 280SE features dual-wishbone front suspension with swing axle rear suspension and power-assisted disc brakes on all four corners. During the restoration the car was fitted with new front and rear springs, along with new Bilstein shocks.
The cabin is upholstered in Cognac Leather with matching doors and carpets throughout. Polished wood trim lines the dashboard and A-pillars. Both front seats offer manual adjustability with reclining seat backs. Interior appointments include an updated resto radio with bluetooth functionality, a front defroster, electric power windows, three point seatbelts, a folding center armrest, lockable glove compartment, dash-mounted clock, and Kuhlmeister air conditioning.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames analog instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure and coolant temperature. The mechanical 5-digit odometer shows just under 12k miles with true mileage unknown (TMU).
This W111 cabriolet is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six with electric fuel injection which is rated for 160 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted four-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes this is a matching numbers car with the original engine and transmission. Maintenance items addressed since the owner's acquisition in 2019 includes a rebuilt AC unit, new front and rear springs, tie rods, fuel pump, bilstein shocks, battery, brakes, spark plugs and wires, and overhauled cylinder head. Partial service records are included with the sale.
This 280SE Coupe has remained under the seller's care since 2019 and has since been garage kept with regular oil changes every 1k miles. The car is said to have no prior accident or damage history. Now showing just under 12k miles (TMU), this 280SE Coupe is offered by the seller with the original manufacturer’s literature, a full-size trunk mounted spare, partial service records, and a clean New York title.

@WhyNotMe for your Q. The seller is the owner. I'm not a dealer.
Classics.com, Lot 2556 said this car was last listed with a dealer called MotorCar Classic, asking for $73,900. Is the seller here the owner or the dealer? Or the same?
