This 1974 Mercedes-Benz 280C is finished in Astral Silver (735) over Blue MB-Tex, and power is provided by a 2.8-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The mechanical odometer reads 4k miles and is believed to have rolled over once before. Features include a power sunroof, power windows, air conditioning, the original Becker Europa radio, and manually adjustable seats with seatbelts. Some service records are included with the car and recent service includes a comprehensive fluid flush, refurbished carburetor, new spark plugs, new flex discs, new brakes, and a new A/C compressor. This pillarless coupe is now being offered by the seller with the factory tool kit, spare tire, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in Astral Silver (735) with extended front and rear North American bumpers and sealed beam headlamps. Factory fog lamps are displayed on the front of the car along with a couple metal grille badges. The seller reports the 280C has received a complete repaint previously. No rust or body damage is noted and detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.
Factory 14″ steel wheels wear paint-matched hubcaps and Firestone Whitewall tires measuring 195/75 at all four corners. The hubcaps show various imperfections and the seller notes the tires show good tread but should be replaced due to age. New brakes have been installed.
The cabin is trimmed in Blue MB-Tex with color-matched door inserts and carpets with original Zebrano veneers are displayed on the dashboard. Equipment includes factory air conditioning, power windows, manually adjusted seats with seatbelts, and the original Becker Europa radio. The original headliner shows well with no major imperfections and the power sunroof operates without fault.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer as well as a clock and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 4k miles and is believed to have rolled over once before.
The 2.8L M110 DOHC inline-six was rated at 158 horsepower when new, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent service includes a comprehensive fluid flush, refurbished carburetor, new spark plugs, new flex discs, and a new A/C compressor. Additional underbody pictures are viewable in the gallery.
This pillarless coupe is now being offered by the seller with the factory tool kit, spare tire, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

Thank you!
@Jim_Rosenthal Solex carburator, was refurbished recently and works like a charm
FI or carburetors, may I ask? Thank you.
@Awismot at 3rd was the spare. Those are the original tires that came with the car and have small cracks on the sides I wouldn't leave them, even though the thread is intact

Always liked the coupes over the sedans. Great body line on these cars
@Skid44 the car was repainted like two and a half years ago. There is a slight decoloration but it's more noticeable on the pictures because of the contrast. It's probably due to the fact that the doors were taking apart when repainted. The car has been kept in a warehouse with air conditioning the whole time, taken only on short drives to keep it running
@dcraigk it is a 74, the first year of the big bumpers
Confused on the respray. If it was recent, why does the driver’s door appear to be off-color?
$1,500 bid placed by @Awismot
Didn’t big bumpers start in 1974?
