This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was first delivered in Northern Virginia where it lived until being moved to Georgia in 1999. This example is finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) over a Grey Leather (278) cabin and accented with a Black soft top. Power comes from a 5.5 liter M117 V8 paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Various receipts show oil changes and general maintenance with the earliest record dating back to 1996. An original full-size spare wheel and tire are shown in the trunk.
The cabin is trimmed in Grey Leather (278) across the seats, door cards, head rests, and armrest. While we’re suckers for bright color palettes on R107’s, there’s something so classic and stately about Astral Silver over Grey. Better yet, we love seeing 560SL’s in this condition. This car has evidently been loved and cared for as though it’s more of a family member rather than an object or tool. The brightwork looks to be in great shape and the photos even remind us how much fun these are as cruise-able roadsters for any occasion. Hopefully this car ends up in the hands of a driver who appreciates it as much as we do. Rising values aside, it’s bound to pay back dividends in enjoyment for years to come with endless style and class.
