Congrats @jonny124! We'll be in touch shortly!
One of the RAREST interiors to exist!
Thanks for the bid. Really trying to be truthful about the mechanical condition. It runs and drives really well — it just needs some enthusiast love to go through the things that are asymptotically wrong with the car. Luckily parts are plentiful and cheap and the W210 is incredibly nice to work on. FCP Euro has all the parts you need at a very reasonable price. The spec is just soooo rare and uncommon. We have a E320 in the collection in the same color combo that’s very nice but not as fun to drive as this one.
@RBBrookeI think it came via boat. It was discovered by our friend who had it shipped here. We fell in love with it and bought from him. It’s safe to assuming it’ll need fluids refreshed and the usual gaskets if you’re going to drive it. Brakes felt fine (never measured the rotor thickness) and it’ll probably warrant a serpentine belt too.
@BklynBenzThe car has been sitting in the collection for a few years at this point. We do drive it but only seldomly. It looks like an oil pan gasket and trans pan gasket to us. It’s makes for a good excuse to do some upkeep on the fluids for whoever wins this to replace those gaskets if it bothers the buyer. Same for the differential. They’re just seeping from sitting but not actively dripping.
@BlainE55Nice! Let's see what happens!
@BlainE55Hey there neighbor! Yeah we're a stone's throw from each other. Yes, right off Exit 24 off 575 in Ball Ground.
As we come into the final day of the auction, I'll be here for any last minute questions. Thanks for the bids and the good questions thus far. We appreciate the interaction. @paulunm We don't have a paint meter on hand.
@aungmyat05 @skarthur The MB Market has uploaded a picture of the scan we took with our Autel showing the SRS code.
We will put a scan to it this week and see what’s up. Thanks!
@DF315 Yes! These are 18s so I think it came from a facelift W220 S430 sport. Tons of Monoblock auctions on The MB Market, so they are pretty easy to get at this point luckily. Slap some Michelins on there and you’re good to go. But the car has a cool story to it. We want it to go n the rights hands and to a new owner who will put a little love into it to make it worthy of its past self.
@aungmyat05Airbag hasn’t been deployed. These W210 dashes shrink with sun exposure, especially around the airbag which causes the plastic and foam to crack. This is pretty common on these cars. Coming for Hawaii, it definitely saw some sun.
This is going to be a fun one. Welcome to the auction of our Designo Silver over GREEN perforated leather interior E55 AMG. We had to have this car in our collection when we bought it from another collector that's well known in this sphere a few years ago. These are rare in their own right, but in E55 trim, there's going to only be a handful ever produced. Please look through our gallery and watch the video we had put together covering this car. We don't know when another one of these will pop up again. But we're downsizing the collection to refresh it with some more funky inventory which is why we're selling it. Please feel free to ask any questions -- we will e around. Thanks!
One and a half hours until the auction ends on our Anthracite CD! We will be around for any last minute questions. Thank you and good luck!
With less than 24 hours remaining, we will be on standby for the final hours! Only 10 C123s have crossed the auction platform here on The MB Market which is far less than half of the W123 sedans. These are getting increasingly rarer to find as time passes on and are a great, relatively inexpensive entry point to getting something no one else has on the road with an engine that's actually fun to work on and survive past the apocalypse. We really like these cars and are sad to move on from it. Thanks for looking and we appreciate the interactions with everyone thus far!
@EPKW111Thank you for the updated comment. Very kind of you to do.
@EPKW111It looks like a lip on the factory rubberized undercoating to me.
@SammyBoyThey’re really cool cars. A diesel luxury coupe is certainly an odd thing. It’s crazy the things Mercedes-Benz did during the EPA driven fuel crisis.
@SRFOXBlow-by can be caused by numerous things. The most rudimentary visual test is the “cap dance” test that’s synonymous with any OM617/A engine which is why I included it in the video since everyone will ask for that test. It’s an excess of pressure coming from the crankcase on the high compression diesel engine. Valve guides, piston rings, or a clogged breather element. Here’s an informational article on it: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/283262-blow-om617.html
Thanks for the early bids so far! We are around to answer any lingering questions that didn't get covered in the auction. Thanks everyone.
@zoccierampqtNot just you. Engine felt and pulled really well but yeah there was some pressure in there.
We bought the car from an enthusiast gentleman out of Florida in 2014. So we've had the car in the collection for 11 years now. Really like the side profile on the car in the gallery. You can see just how short the wheelbase is. These are really cool things and we LOVE an OM617A.
Hey everyone! Welcome to the auction of our C123! This car has been in our collection for quite a few years now and we're just beginning to refresh everything in the warehouse. We really enjoyed our time with this 300CD. Please feel free to view the gallery and watch the video provided. This is a pleasant driver grade car as the pictures honestly reflect as does the video. We will be around for any questions. Undersides will be uploaded in the next day or so. @steveo146 This example didn't come with much in the way of records, so there's no way of telling the true milage since that's really the only way to document miles on these classics. Let us know if there's anything else we can answer. Thanks!
Photos 122-129 show the top in it's latched position from all angles. It's in great shape!
Good afternoon everyone, thank you for your patience with us on this auction. We've been working through some family-related work overseas and have missed the last couple comments. That said we've proud to offer this cabriolet. -It's an original cabrio, NOT a conversion. -We do not have the original compensator and we did not change it out- thanks for asking. -You should see most questions answered in the video made for the listing. @prodigalpetrolhead, thanks for taking the time!
@Slade30306We're more than happy to take the time and show the car. Please send us a private message and we'll reach out to schedule something with you. Thanks!
Thanks PCMI and all the bidders.
Thanks to all the bidders.
@ Monal congratulations on your winning bid. We will be in touch soon .We want to thank all the bidders and watchers.
We can help make shipping arrangments.
Where is the car going ?
The car been in storage since we bought it, it is part of our Mercedes collection , we use our cars for shows and events. This car was used in several TV props. Tires are at least six years old .
Picture for the odometer will be posted soon.
I bought the car with seat belts presenters are not functional. I don't know the issue .
Thanks for all the information about the car. The car still in excellent condition
@gaijinshogun Thanks for the information .
Which port the car will be shipped to state side, and how much is the cost any idea?
Mercedes built 566 cars Cosworth 2.5 -16V in 1991. Total production from 1988 to 1993 .was 5743 cars.
To do the EVO pkg is about 20K.
Used those parts on another 190.
The red light is the oxygen sensor and the yellow light is ASD anti skid differential .
Undercarriage photos will be posted tomorrow .
Yes it is custom like the trunk of 600 Grosser.
@Donkster Leather was replaced and the boot cover comes with the car.
Yes the AC works.
Thank you to all who viewed the listing , commented , and bid .
@Dutchy_1I can show the car anytime starting tomorrow. Send me an email using the Contact Seller button and we'll set something up!
@BruunstarThat's correct, we just found out as we brought it out of storage. We're immediately diagnosing, fixing, and it will be addressed/fixed for the buyer.
@hammer_wagon Right now we believe the A/C just needs charged. All components work (blower, compressor, controls) but we haven't charged the system. We took videos over the weekend and expect them to be up today. Thanks.
@Amg2020The paint on the lower portion of the wing isn't bubbling but the wing material itself on that lower portions seems to be wavy in places. We took more photos over the weekend. They should be up today. Thanks.
@iamthejd77 I have no idea, but I will check if any of my other MB cars has VPC QC stickers.
It is original .
