This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was originally delivered to Park Place Motors in Dallas, TX where the car remained until relocating to Florida in 2000. Finished in Signal Red (568) over Palomino Leather (274), power is provided by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a removable paint-matched original hardtop, original Becker head unit, air conditioning with automatic climate control, a black soft top, and an installed Kinder Seat in the rear. Recent service in June 2022 includes an evacuation and recharge of the A/C system, replacement of the fuel filter hose, two brake flex hoses and a flush/bleed of the brake system. An oil service was also performed in preparation for the sale. The current owner acquired the car in 2016 and has added approximately 3,500 miles. This example is now offered by the current owner in Seminole, FL with 126,465 miles on the odometer, partial service records, fitted car cover, a fresh inspection, factory literature, an original tool kit, first aid kit, two keys, and a clean Florida title.
The body is finished in Signal Red (568) and features original body panels accented by a hand-painted black and grey pinstripe. Exterior features include a folding black soft top, chrome mirror caps, chrome wheel arches, North American-spec headlamps and bumpers, and front fog lamps. The original paint-matched hardtop is included and features original glass with rear defrost. The exterior shows some light blemishes and rock chips which can be seen and noted in the gallery below. The Carfax shows no history of accidents or damage and the paint is believed to be all original.
This 560SL wears original chrome 15x7” Gullideckel wheels wrapped in BCT S600 tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners and wearing 2018 date codes. Light pitting is noted on the chrome wheels but no major curb rash, bends or damage is otherwise visible. In June 2022 the car recieved two new brake flex hoses and a flush/bleed of the brake system.
The cabin is upholstered in Palomino Leather (274) across the seats, door cards, armrest, head rests, and shift knob. The dashboard is capped in a matching black unit and the Burl wood trim shows cracks and fading at the center console. The cabin also shows original palomino carpets along with matching floor mats. Interior features include converted R134 factory air conditioning with automatic climate control, a Palomino-trimmed rear Kinder Seat, and the original Becker head unit. Normal wear can be seen across the interior and the kinder seat installation is reversible.
The color-matching hardtop is currently in storage on a rolling rack but included with the sale and reports to be in similarly good condition as the vehicle. Photos of the hardtop are viewable at the end of the gallery.
The digital odometer shows 126,465 original miles. Instrumentation includes VDO gauges featuring a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, oil pressure, fuel economy, and an analog clock. The gauges are trimmed with chrome rings and feature electronic warning lights along the base of the cluster.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.3 automatic four-speed transmission. Recent service in June 2022 includes an evacuation and recharge of the A/C system, replacement of the fuel filter hose, two brake flex hoses and a flush/bleed of the brake system. An oil service was also performed in preparation for the sale. Service records under present ownership are included with the sale.

This 560SL is now offered in Seminole, FL with 126k miles on the odometer, partial service records, a fitted car cover, factory literature, an original tool kit, first aid kit, two keys, and a clean Florida title.

@bshemela That's ok. Sometimes people like the timing chains changed sooner but it can be done at 175K miles. Plus there will be slack and sound when they're getting close. Most important thing is its had regular and scheduled maintenance and service, which you have done over the last 6 years.
Good Afternoon I just took several Pictures of the Underside of the Vehicle and also a snap shot of the Service that was done on 6-28-22 These were sent to Ryan at the MB Website and he should be posting them soon. Other than that I have really only had standard Maintenance and a Battery Replacement (4 Months ago) to it for the past 6 Years that I have had it. Its been Garage Kept until a few months ago and now has had a Car Cover over it since then except while driving it of course.
Additional photos of the underside and service records have been added to the gallery.
@tpalmer Hi the only major service that I’ve really done in the last six years was a few weeks ago when I put the new hoses on two for the brakes with a flush and bleed and one for the gas plus I just had an oil and filter service and A/C evacuate and Recharge I can scan the service ticket from that and post it All other service has been standard maintenance I’ve never really had any issues other than changing out a battery. I am not Exactly sure about the timing chain or anything however my mechanic is pretty thorough and he would’ve brought that to my attention if he saw any issue.
A steal at the current bid. Next 5 and a half hours should be good. @bshemela You have partial service records. Do you know if the timing chain, tensioners and guide rails have been replaced? I've done these before and its not a big deal but if its been done that is a plus. Any other major items addressed in the records? This would also push this one. Very nice job on the interior. Beautiful, well cared for example. I love it.

The vertical chrome door edging is also an aftermarket add-on. But nonetheless all these chrome "goodies" were popular owner add-ons and can be found on many 107 body cars 1971-1989.

@toomanyoldcars I will take more pictures and have them downloaded Monday showing the dash and cancel also taking more pictures of the inside door jams there is no overspray anywhere that I can see this looks to be the original paint as far as I know. Thank You for The input and pointers!

@allmack I am sorry I do not know if those are add-ons or not.

The chromies and flares are tough. And are those vertical, curved chrome strips on the door jambs add-ons, too? A moment in time, GLWA.

A nice example! Typical of these cars, the owner(s) installed aftermarket chrome wheels, fender flares, window tinting, and pin striping. Apparently no undercarriage pix, which would be nice as the condition of the exhaust system and potential fluid leaks could be analyzed; an exhaust system repair/replacement can be most expensive. Also would be nice to see closeups of the dash and console wood which affect value. These cars suffered from clouding/delamination of the factory clear coat finish; would be curious to know what has been repainted if anything; looks like there is some red paint over spray on the passenger door sill plate (hard to tell in picture). Surprised that the current owner did not replace the disintegrated hood pad, a relatively inexpensive repair that a conscientious owner would typically do. Steering wheel is somewhat dried out; a dye job and silicone application might be in order. Would love to see a video of the dash lights upon startup and the power antenna in operation. Nonetheless, a nice example worthy of a collector; I own a few myself.
