Thank you to all of the bidders and congratulations to the winner! My brother Tony has done a phenomenal job of presenting a wonderful car that we are extraordinarily proud of. Tony has done an exceptional job and for that I am grateful and appreciative! joe
Masonm Joe Palmer here (Tony's brother). Tony is on the road, so I obtained a shipping quote from Ft Lauderdale to UK. The cost is $1,835.00 (port to port) or about 1535 GBP. Hope this helps and shoot us any questions about the car you may have, cheers! joe
Well done by all; a great car at a great price! Enjoy driving an appreciating classic. If you like 560 SLs, stay tuned for Tony's black 1986 560 SL; Everything you want, and nothing left to do
The W124 series cars may be the last of the great cars by Mercedes. They are tank like and, given decent maintenance, will last forever. We have a 1988 260E we bought from the estate of the original owner in 2017. It had 251,000 miles (and about 253,000 now); we have the Mercedes Benz mileage badge and certificate. We repainted it due to delamination of the clear cost (from 30 years of Florida sun). The car is perfect and draws admiring stares whenever we take it out. The new owner of the 260E will be very pleased and happy with the car.
This is a beautiful example of the R107 and reflects care and excellent maintenance. California provenance likely means rust is not an issue. In a few years, these cars will be approaching six figures as the W113 Pagoda does now
The W124 is an outstanding model and will become a classic collectible in the near future. These cars were the high point of MB technology and design. Nearly bulletproof when properly maintained. Good luck to the seller and to the fortunate new owner!
The owner likely has $50,000 in this car to have it prezssent the way it does (ask me how I know). 6.9s are going up in value, especially the nicest ones. Top one in Europe right now is a5 91,000 Euros or about $100,000 USD This one is a nicer car that one that, with lower mileage
These cars are destined to be $100,000+ cars in the near future. Currently, they are undervalued by the market. This one is astonishingly well prepared and ready to go. Good luck with the auction!
Excellent example of the W126 and a great investment vehicle. Congratulations to whomever is the high bidder today.
