This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E is a European-market example that spent time in Japan before it was imported to the US by the seller this year. The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over Anthracite leather (271) and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 17″ Evo II wheels, a sunroof, heated and power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, an electric rear roller blind, and an electrically adjustable side mirror. The car features a W124 facelift conversion with 94/95 year model headlights, hood, and grille. Now with 118k kilometers (~73k miles), this 500E is offered with the owner’s manuals, tool kit, all import paperwork, and a clean Florida title.
The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) with matching lower body cladding. Equipment includes European-spec fender lights, fog lights, headlight wipers, a sunroof, and an automatic antenna. The 500E comes fitted with flared front and rear fenders along with widened bumpers to match compared to a standard W124. The frontend has been updated to a facelift style from that of a 94/95 model year which includes a new hood, grille, and headlights.
17” Evo II wheels are fitted from a 500E Limited and wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires measuring 245/45 all around with 2018 date codes. The 500E featured Porsche-tuned suspension with a lower ride height than contemporary standard W124 models and also required a wider track for better handling.
The cabin features factory Recaro seats upholstered in Anthracite leather (271) which is also continued on to each door card. Burl wood trim accents the dashboard, center stack in the front and rear, and door panels. The seller notes some hairline cracks are visible in the wood veneer around the shifter and the headliner is sagging in the rear. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats, an electric rear roller blind, automatic climate control, and an updated Mercedes-Benz head unit. The original airbag remains in place and the steering wheel has been replaced with a contoured flat-bottomed style wheel.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation that includes a 260-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 118k kilometers (~73k miles).
The 5.0-liter DOHC M119 V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that the car drives and performs with no known issues.
There is no Carfax report available for this 500E as it was recently imported into the United States. This Euro 500E is offered with the owner’s manuals, tool kit, all import paperwork, and a clean Florida title.
Unmistakable on the road, the 500E has become a legend of its own thanks to its muscular appearance and Porsche-tied heritage. With engineering help from Porsche, the front track of the 500E was widened to maintain optimal handling characteristics with the added weight and power of the 5.0 V8. Once the modifications to the chassis and suspension were completed, the body also required widening to accommodate the changes - and man oh man are we glad they did. The flared fenders with the widened bumpers transformed the look of the W124 in the best way possible. The additional width forced Mercedes to hire help from Porsche to assemble the cars because the redesigned W124 body wouldn't even fit onto the original assembly line fixtures at the Mercedes-Benz assembly plant in Sindelfingen. And just like that a legend was born, or as some like to call it, the wolf in sheep’s clothing. This 500E touts the Limited-spec Evo II wheels and the updated facelift frontend is a nice addition. The desirability for 500E’s has only increased over the years as they’ve become more and more sought after and we expect values to only trend upwards with time.

The correct E500 headlights will be difficult to source, as they have been NLA for years (both headlamps & lenses). As it sits this car has 4 fog lights and 2 high beams; instead of 4 high beams and 2 fog lights. Not a big deal if you don't drive at night much and don't mind the different appearance. Odd the seller has not commented once in 10 days. 0_o Edit: No undercarriage photos?
Really nice looking spec here in silver with the Evo wheels. Facelift update looks great too and this is much better than the original two tone paint scheme.

Short review: - mileage is at least twice higher according to interior condition - original 5.0 headlights are missing. We have cheap DEPO lights here. - wrong turn lights at front fenders - at least front and rear fenders were repainted - one headlight wiper arm cover is missing - hood lock cable holder above the headlight is missing - trunk light is not fixed, maybe damaged Arabian sticker near gearshift knob looks strange for Japanese car.
Lovely example. Always a good sign when you see Michelin Pilot Sports installed.
Hello @jdmautoshop I would like to send someone to inspect your car tomorrow. Are you available? Please email your ph#. Thanks

Whoever wins this, please contact me if you are interested in the correct pre facelift '500 E' trunk badge for this example. GLWA.
The rear badging has also been "updated" to. 94/95 style (93 would be 500 E) and the letters/numbers are placed too far toward the center.
