This 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Silver Arrow was sold new through Mercedes-Benz of Arlington, Virginia in July 2002. It has remained with the original owner since new and was serviced by the selling dealer up until 2020 when the owner relocated to Washington state. The car is 1 of 1,550 Silver Arrow editions offered by Mercedes-Benz to celebrate the final year model of the R129. Finished in Silver Arrow Metallic (777) over a Black and Silver Nappa Leather (231) interior, power comes from a 5.0-liter M113 V8 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include xenon headlamps, AMG sport styling, heated seats, a removable hardtop and electrically retracting soft top, and Silver Arrow-specific trim and leather. This SL500 Silver Arrow currently shows 19,400 miles on the digital odometer, all of which have been added by the original owner. The most recent service in September 2025 at the dealer included new valve cover gaskets, a transmission service, and an oil and filter change. This Silver Arrow is being offered by the owner in Mukilteo, Washington with a clean, one-owner Carfax report, manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a paint-matched hardtop and stand, car cover, and a clean Washington title.

The body is finished in Silver Arrow Metallic (777) and features the AMG Sport Package which includes sculpted bumpers, side skirts, and chrome exhaust tip. The soft top is trimmed in original Black cloth and shows nicely with a clear rear window and no tears or snags in the fabric. The included hardtop is finished in matching Silver Arrow Metallic (777) and has remained garaged with the car since new. The factory hardtop stand will also accompany the car with the sale and the seller notes minor sagging on the headliner as seen in the photos. The car also includes xenon headlamps, fog lights, and Silver Arrow-specific fender badges. The seller notes the front grille has some bent slats along with the bottom piece connected to the hood.

This example retains the original Silver Arrow-specific wheels produced by BBS for the R129 Silver Arrow edition. These 2-piece wheels measure 18x8.5” up front and 18x9.5” in the rear and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 3+ tires measuring 245/40 and 275/35 respectively. The chrome trim rings around the wheels show some minor imperfections with curb rash on the front driver side. Factory Silver Arrow calipers are seen behind each wheel along with drilled rotors. New control arms and a brake fluid flush was performed at the dealer in 2020.

The cabin is trimmed in two-tone Black and Silver (231) Nappa leather across the seats, door cards, head rests, shift knob, and steering wheel. The original Silver leather trimmed floor mats remain with the car and are shown in the gallery. Black Birdseye Maple wood adorns the door cards and center console and shows cracks on the center piece surrounding the cup holders. The original head unit is still present and functional along with the 6-disc CD changer located in the trunk. Additional features include heated front seats, automatic climate control, an automatic dimming rear view mirror with integrated homelink, and Silver Arrow-exclusive polished aluminum trim around the gauges and shifter surround. The factory ash tray cover shows the Silver Arrow logo and the exclusive silver-rimmed wind deflector is included.

The digital odometer shows only 19,400 original miles, all of which have been added by the original owner. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and a digital odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, oil pressure, fuel economy, and an analog clock. The gauges are trimmed with chrome rings and feature a Silver Arrow-exclusive polished aluminum surround to match the shifter surround.

The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.6 automatic five-speed transmission. The Carfax report lists regular service visits at the original selling dealer, Mercedes-Benz of Arlington, from new until 2020. The last major service in January 2020 included a recommended maintenance, new air filter, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, new control arms, new drive belts, four wheel alignment, new hood pad, fuel system cleaning, power steering fluid flush, new serpentine belt, a transmission fluid flush, new wiper blades, and an oil service. In preparation for the sale, the owner's family had a fresh oil and filter change performed, a transmission service, and new valve cover gaskets installed at the dealer in September 2025. This R129 Silver Arrow is being offered by the original owner with the help of their daughter. The car has a clean Carfax report showing now accidents or other damage, 44 service records, and linear mileage updates since new. Included in the sale are original manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a paint-matched hardtop and stand, Silver Arrow wind deflector, and a clean Washington title.

The R129 is already a modern classic and collectibility has been steadily rising in recent years. The Silver Arrow package for this SL500 was offered for an additional cost on top of MSRP and was limited to 1,550 units for the North American market. The Silver Arrow package includes Exclusive “Silver Arrow” Ultra-Metallic paint, specifically designed trim for the Silver Arrow package, Black Birdseye Maple wood, illuminated Door Sills, Xenon Lights, Heated Seats, a 6-disc changer, exclusive high polish BBS wheels, and polished aluminum exterior and interior features. Combining the sharp Sacco-designed lines with the “Silver Arrow” nameplate and a limited production run was a definitive recipe for success, but moreover, designers found a way to bring the heritage and look of the 1930’s to the R129. The aluminium work on the interior adds a new level of craftsmanship and finish, pairing perfectly with the birdseye maple wood trim. The paint is brighter than any other silver Mercedes offered and even more impressive in person. The romance of the GT roadster will forever live on through the R129 with modern functionality and timeless craftsmanship. Sport package equipped R129s certainly bring a premium on today's market and low mileage examples only boost values from there. Another huge value add for this car is the one-owner history from new and documented service history on the Carfax. Add in the fact that this 19k-mile SL500 is one of the limited Silver Arrow editions produced and you have the perfect recipe for appreciating value and years of enjoyment.
