This 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG is finished in Black (040) over a Black/Anthracite leather (281) interior and powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter M113 V8 engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional features include Bi-Xenon headlights, a body-color power-folding hardtop with panoramic glass roof, Keyless-Go, Bose sound system, and COMAND with navigation. This SL55 shows 34,875 miles on the odometer and is now offered by the selling dealer with the original window sticker, factory literature, a clean Carfax report, one factory key, and a clean California title.
The body is finished in Black (040) and features includes a Bi-Xenon headlights, fog lights, fender air vents, a body-color power-folding hardtop with panoramic glass roof, and dual heated power mirrors. AMG bodywork consists of a revised front spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper, and quad exhaust outlets. All paint is believed to be original to the car as supported by the clean Carfax report.
The 18” AMG multi-spoke (aka turbine) wheels are wrapped in 255/40 front and 285/35 rear Continental ExtremeContact tires with 2017/2018 date codes. Stopping power is provided by silver-finished calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners and the seller reports approximately 60% pads remaining. This car also features automatic slip control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and active body control.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames AMG instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Multifunction displays are controlled by buttons mounted to the steering wheel and the digital odometer indicates 34,875 miles.
Power is provided by a supercharged 5.4-liter M113K V8 engine which was factory rated at 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. Service history records indicate recent battery replacement in May of 2022.
Videos below show the hardtop in operation, a walk around, and interior tour of the car.
The SL55 sublimely marries two of Mercedes' most enduring gifts: the sleek, seductive styling of the sport licht roadster platform and the raw power of the near-bulletproof M113K powerplant. While the supercharged V8 M113K was available in a variety of AMG variant platforms of this era, it is only in the SL55 AMG that one can go topless to be fully engulfed by the symphony of combustion and hellcry of the supercharger whine. While the non-AMG variants in the R230 SL line are often regrettably relegated to toting pensioners around retirement communities, the SL55 AMG offers truly breathtaking power and performance that, we believe, won't be undervalued by collector's for much longer. This particular example has been extremely well cared for and presents as such. The window sticker shows an original MSRP of nearly $122,000 when new in 2003 and with less than 35k miles on it today, will afford someone the opportunity to own a nearly new time capsule at an incredible value.

I’m just gonna say, whoever cleaned and prepped this beauty for photos…I love you.
@mb_aaron Hello, ABC system is working as it should. We do not have any records of the trans or engine mounts being replaced but they do feel solid in our opinion. Yes everything works as it should to our knowledge. The most recent service was we had the alternator replaced and a new starter battery put in. Safety inspection showed front and rear brakes at 60% remaining and tires at 8/32 front and rear. You are welcome to have the vehicle inspected prior to the auction ending though, please call or email us to arrange.
Hello. Has the ABC system been serviced recently? Have the engine and trans mounts been replaced? Do everything work as it should? Last full service, coils, plugs and transmission?
