This 2006 Mercedes-Benz E500 4Matic Wagon shows Illinois registration from new under two owners with 140k miles on the odometer. Finished in Alabaster White (960) over Stone Leather (835), power is provided by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. Equipment includes a power glass sunroof, Bi-Xenon headlamps, sport body styling, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, four-zone climate control, Harman Kardon audio and a rear-facing third row. The Airmatic suspension has been converted to a coil-over setup. This 2006 E500 Wagon is now offered for sale at No Reserve by the selling dealer in Chicago, Illinois with eight years of service history, a clean Carfax report and a clean Illinois title.
The exterior is finished in Alabaster White (960) and comes equipped with an appearance package including Bi-Xenon headlamps with Active Curve Illumination, headlamp washers, blue-tinted glass, LED brake lights and factory sport body styling with a sculpted front bumper, side skirts and rear apron. Additional exterior equipment includes a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, a power rear tailgate and front fog lamps. The body is clean with no signs of rust or damage and no accidents are reported on the provided Carfax.
The 17” five-spoke alloy wheels have been fitted with Continental PureContact tires measuring 245/45 front and rear. The tires were fitted in June 2021 along with a new set of front pads and rotors. The factory Airmatic suspension has been converted to a Strutmasters coilover setup.
The cabin is trimmed in Stone Leather (835) with matching carpets, headliner, black rubber floor mats and Burl Walnut wood trim which lines the center console, dashboard, steering wheel and door panels. Both front seats are heated and ventilated and include three-position memory. Interior appointments include COMAND with DVD navigation, Harman Kardon Logic7 surround sound, a 6-disc CD changer, four-zone automatic climate control, rear side-window sunshades, a split-folding second row, a cargo cover and a rear-facing third-row bench seat. Cracking is visible in both front seats along with wear on the steering wheel.
The multifunction wood/leather steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and digital gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A configurable digital display is mounted in the center of the speedometer with a digital odometer mounted below which currently displays 140k miles.
This S211 is powered by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 engine which is factory rated for 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The most recent oil change was performed in June 2022 at 136k miles. Eight years of service history from the previous owner are included and have been documented in the photo gallery below.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates with no accidents or damage reports since new. This 2006 E500 4Matic Wagon is now offered for sale at No Reserve by the selling dealer in Chicago, Illinois with a clean two-owner Carfax report and a clean Illinois title.
The only non-AMG V8-powered wagon offered in the US market, the E500 4Matic provided a supreme level of luxury and performance along with the reliability of the M113/722.6 pairing. While offering an additional level of comfort and adjustability, the Airmatic suspension is known as one potential weak point of these cars. This example has had its Airmatic suspension replaced with Strutmasters coilovers ensuring its reliability for years to come. It's also worth noting the lengthy list of options on this wagon which make this the ideal spec. With just two owners and extensive service history, this E500 wagon is the perfect opportunity to pick up an exceptionally well-maintained daily driver.

No undercarriage pictures = big roll of the dice. The seller’s reluctance to provide even phone pictures of the underside for a car that has clearly lived in the Rust Belt is concerning.
I’m glad this blew past my budget. This way I don’t have to sweat it out. Good luck to all.

@DjFinley72 of course
Are you in a position to work with the winning bidder if they decide to drive from out of state to pick up the car?

@Barkford Runs and drives flawless. all documentation i have has been presented, if it’s not in the maintenance record file or on carfax i would recommend to check a 3rd party to inspect the vehicle if you are out of state and i will accommodate as best i can as it is 1 day left on the auction thanks.
Hello. I read thru most of your receipt photos but wasnt sure if the differential fluids have ever been changed out? Also, any binding vibration or noise on tight turns?

Does this car have the Sensortronic Brake system? Thank you
@Fastandfurious Third -party inspections are always encouraged for out of state buyers as you can see from the pictures it’s in excellent condition.
@seller you would really help this auction - and help your wallet with higher bids - if you were to post actual pictures of the underside of the car - ideally from a lift, but if you can't do that, maybe jack the car up 6 inches to give you better clearance. I would be bidding on this car (as I have to assume others would) if we could see underside pictures to determine condition after living in Illinois. Thanks.

@KingKitty I certainly empathize with your sentiment, but I converted by 07’ S550 and never looked back. Any disparity in the “ride” was overshadowed by the fact I never had to deal with the suspension again.
@cm3esquire People who buy these cars then gut the various systems on them should be strung up, period. Neither AirMatic nor ABC, both of which I’ve had or currently own cars with, are easily diagnosed and repaired with the proper tools or competent service provider. Many of the issues on AirMatic systems are typically minor ones and not expensive repairs. Ignorance fuels the approach of replacing the systems as a whole. It compromises the driving experience and changes the car’s performance in negative ways. It makes me sad to see a well designed system gutted by some “well meaning” owner or mechanic because they’re too lazy or incompetent to properly troubleshoot the issue and repair it. I rank those folks right up with the W123/W126 hood stack crowd. There is no such thing as a cheap Mercedes.
The rarity of this wagon is absurd.
Regarding pictures to the undercarge it’s in excellent condition and third party inspections are encouraged for out of state buyers. thanks
Nice.
The conversion kit makes complete sense. I had a 2004 and I loved the car, and hated the car. The airmatic suspension was a complete disaster, with all of its electronic gremlins - which is why I ultimately dumped the car. Had they had the conversion kit at the time I would have kept the car. It is in essence an S Class wagon.
Agree on the undercarriage photos if it matters. Coilovers? Nope, game over, move on, there's nothing to see here...
Really need undercarriage pictures on a 17 year old Illinois car.
