This 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid was first sold in California and was registered in Hawaii prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2022. Finished in Diamond White Metallic (799) over Cashmere leather (214), power comes from a 3.5-liter V6 linked with an electric motor fed by a 0.9-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack and a seven-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes Parktronic, a rearview camera, heated and ventilated Drive-Dynamic multi-contour front seats, Night View Assist, a panoramic glass roof, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps with curve illumination, an electric rear roller blind, and Keyless-Go. This S400 Hybrid has just over 37k miles and is offered in Wisconsin with a clean Carfax report and a clean Wisconsin title.
The car is finished in Diamond White Metallic (799) and features a panoramic glass roof, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps with curve illumination, rear parking sensors, and dual exhaust outlets. The front bumper features integrated LED daytime running lights along with chrome accents around the lower bumpers and skirts. The seller notes one spot on the rear bumper that has been touched up with thorough documentation in the gallery.
Factory multi-spoke 19″ wheels are mounted with Falken Ziex ZE950 and Continental ExtremeContact tires measuring 255/40 front and 275/40 rear. The car features both a start-stop system along with regenerative braking.
The interior is upholstered with Cashmere leather across the seats, armrest, and doorcards along with a two-tone Cashmere and Savanna dash. Burl walnut trim extends across the dash onto the doors and center console. Amenities include heated and ventilated Drive-Dynamic multi-contour front seats with memory, Night View Assist, dual-zone automatic climate control, an overhead console DVD player, a rearview camera, Parktronic, electric rear window blinds, and a COMAND infotainment system with navigation.
A leather-wrapped and wood-trimmed multifunction steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates just over 37k miles, approximately 1,300 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The 3.5-liter V6 is paired with a synchronous electric motor fed by a 0.9-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack and produced a combined output of 295 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque when new. An inspection and recent oil & filter service was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and displays longterm ownership and registration in Hawaii. Now located in Wisconsin, this S400 Hybrid comes with a clean Carfax report and a clean Wisconsin title.
The W221 S-Class was built to be as comfortable as possible while maintaining the quietest, smoothest, and most isolated ride yet. The idea of rapid comfort and unparalleled luxury has been the winning recipe for the S-Class as long as it’s existed but Mercedes seemed to find all the right notions with the W221. Whether it’s a cold morning in bumper to bumper traffic or long road trips up and down the interstates, the W221 S-Class seems to make every experience ideal. This particular spec will also provide its owner with a few more miles in addition to smiles per gallon. The hybrid is able to seamlessly use both regenerative (using the electric motor) and conventional (using the friction brakes) braking to keep the onboard battery charged. The assistance of the electric motor still offers plenty of torque paired with the M272 engine as they both work together to extend time between fill ups. With a clean history and very low mileage, this highly-optioned W221 will make the perfect transporter for those wanting effeciency, value, and S-Class luxury.

@Vlad600sel. No VMI unfortunately. We believe the battery is original but put tech did a deep dive in the car and it appears to be in good condition. There are pictures of the battery reports in the listing. Thank you!
No vmi on these ? Original battery? What is the life span on it ?
Just so everyone is aware, we can put a bumper to bumper warranty that will cover the HYBRID system for $3,100.00 for 2 yr 24k miles. Please let me know if there are any other questions!

@bad_idea_dante. Actually it can be converted to strictly gas engine, however it does involve a bit to make that happen. A few people on the forums have done so.
@Armenian - Yeah you caught me hahaha! I can't help myself sometimes. Thank you for taking the time to explain that for me. It definitely helped. I just really love the M272(when it isn't affected by the lower quality metal balance shaft) and was hoping for a loophole.

Is apple car play supported on this car?

@Bad_Idea_Dante I see where you get your name, LOL. NO you cant take the Lithium battery out and just use the gas engine. If the lithium battery power drops to I think 15% it will not start. If one of the many Lithium cells go bad it will drag down the rest of them eventually. There are 3 or four components that check and charge the cells and keep everything balanced because if it starts overheating the charging will stop at a certain temperature it will disconnect totally from electrical system. You need the dealer to recharge it if the voltage drops off past a certain point and it needs to be charged with a powerful charger but within a very specific voltage range. So nice try but No, engine only won't work. It's about $15k to have it replaced and Mercedes change everything. Seller states that the Hybrid lithium battery checks out. I believe him but you don't know when it will go. hope for the best.

As a guy who loves the combustion engine, I wonder if this car can be used without the battery/hybrid setup? Is it possible, that when the battery does fail, that you can remove it and use the car as just a good old M272 V6 with no issue? Or will the car's computer/ecu not allow for this? If it is possible to drive as a pure ICE, I'm all in on this beautiful sled.
Looks like a great car, very pleasing to the eye but after looking up the hybrid battery and the related relays, if for any reason any one of those components fail it will domino effect and every one of them have to be changed. Unfortunately without a factory warranty I am apprehensive on bidding. GLWA!
@jradcliffe. 2 keys come with the car. It also comes with books and manuals!
$7,250 bid placed by @JMKCAR
How many MB keys come with the car? Do you have all of the original owners manuals with the car?
@jradcliffe. A retired certified MB tech is the one who inspected the battery health. He is also Hybrid certified. The battery health is good as shown from the scan tool in the photos that were added. Mercedes does not offer such a service that you are requesting, and if they did it would be no different than what our tech did. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
are you prepared to have a Certified Mechanic from an active Mercedes-Benz dealer perform the test, post the results, and issue a letter stating the current condition and the estimated useful life remaining? I'll be happy to bid once the results are posted....
Screenshots from the scan tool showing battery health have been added.
@jradcliffe. @turn3. Our tech did look at it. He found the battery is operating within peak range and that all 3 parts of the battery are inline. In other words, all the cells are good! I will attach screen shots from the scan tool.
I checked local Atlanta and found total cost to replace battery pack $15k parts $1k labor. Told to expect battery to last 10-12 years. What has your mechanic reported in Wisconsin?
