@560SELGot it, thank you!
@560SELAwesome! Thank you for the quick response. Also, I saw a note that the radio may not work in one of the comments. That accurate?
@560SEL Will this car come with a valid California smog certificate completed within 90 days for us California buyers?
How's the condition of the body, i.e. any paint cracks, body work, overspray, dents, etc? Previous paintwork besides bumpers? Any rust on vehicle?
The final day is upon us! Please reach out with any questions & I will reply ASAP. Thank you to all for the interest in our beautiful SL550!
@RDM7533Thank you for the Interest! According to our records, rear pads & sensor were replaced at approximately 76k. I don't see anything regarding front brakes, but neither need replacement for the foreseeable future. With minimal time remaining in this auction, & a shop full of customer cars awaiting repairs, I doubt I'll be able to get any underside photos. Rest assured, our reputation means the world to us especially being a 30 year old Mercedes-Benz repair facility. This vehicle shows no signs of rust & is extremely clean/dry.
Only one day remaining! Please reach out if you have any questions & I will reply ASAP.
@KirillvaThank you for your years of continued support!
@JohnSWwe do see convertible issues from time to time and it's usually the leaking latch hydraulic rams. We replace them with factory parts, but I've heard from many other enthusiasts that there is a company (in Oregon I believe) that actually sells refurbished hydraulic rams at a fraction of the cost & they have had great success with them. Myself, I've personally owned five r230 chassis SL cars and only had to replace a leaking front latch. You hear more "horror stories" from the people who buy the cars that have not been loved over the years unfortunately. My best recommendation is to find a knowledgeable "indy" in your area whom you can have at the ready if anything is needed down the road. I actually see way more new Mercedes models pass through the shop needing tremendous amounts of repairs, versus the older Mercedes models. If you do end up with the winning bid, we do not have any additional fees. What you bid is what you pay. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
@JohnSWThank you so much for the very kind words of praise! All of our team strives for complete customer satisfaction & treats each vehicle as if it were their own. Plus it helps when all of our team is extremely detail oriented. This car has not required many variotop repairs. We did fluid servicing on the system, replaced the pair of trunk support struts, & did a trunk latch replacement. We went to electronic records in 2016 & we may have something in the hard files from a year or two earlier. Other than that it may have had some roof repairs at the MB dealership. I've operated the top multiple times over the past month when I've taken the vehicle out, & it operates quiet / smoothly.
@Bencolemthe pulsation damper, tandem hydraulic pump, suspension filters, both accumulators have been replaced by us. Previous work done by Mercedes Benz we do not have records of.
@bzcat They were low speed impacts & more cosmetic than anything. If you didn't review the carfax it would be hard to tell any repairs were ever done.
@scscarboroughthank you for the Interest!
Hello fellow MB lovers! I want to welcome you all to my auction on our stunning metallic red sl550. This car is just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. True pride of ownership with open checkbook for any required repairs. Car has been stored in our climate controlled office/showroom, & will do so til auction end. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out on here & I'll get back to you ASAP. Happy bidding!
Here we are, last day on our auction! For all diesel lovers, do not miss out on this one. Extremely clean & fully maintained with great history. Any last minute questions I'll be around all day! Happy bidding!
@classicmbThank you for the question. The oil cooler was replaced in 2013 at Mercedes Benz of Escondido & again in 2017 preventatively as we were doing repairs in the general vicinity. Rear main seal was replaced at Mercedes Benz of Escondido in 2013 at approximately 68k miles.
As we have 3 days left remaining on this auction for our beautiful e320 CDI, I wanted to reach out to perspective bidders. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. If you're in the San Diego area and would like to see it in person, that can also be arranged. Happy bidding!
@jettskimanNo expense was spared on this car. The 2nd owners were an older retired couple. The car drives absolutely like new 👍
@Eagle11I live right there haha!
@Eagle11Small world! Don't meet too many people from here. The car came into our MB workshop with a low boost code. Upon further diagnostics the turbo was not holding/creating enough boost. Per Mercedes-Benz Technical Service Bulletins, both exhaust manifolds also need to be replaced which adds quite a bit of labor. This repair was over $7k parts & labor. The new owner will be getting a FULLY maintained & extremely clean W211 diesel. Definite pride of ownership!
@gdesena719Thank you so much for the kind words! That testimony is the exact same way this car makes me feel. Solid, performance, safety, class, all tied into one. I'll truly be sad to see her go....
With a little over 3 hours remaining, I'll be available for calls or messages today. Happy bidding to all & good luck!
@YoungclassicamgThank you so much!
This is an absolutely beautiful & rare spec cls55. I've known the seller for quite some time now and I can attest to how well the car has been gone through, as we are both Mercedes gearheads. Bid with confidence!
With 1 day remaining on auction, I'll be available via phone as well to answer any questions. Just send a message with your contact info & I'll reach out. I've had a few emails asking if the car is road trip ready. That is a big YES! Fly in, enjoy San Diego for a bit in your head turning e55, then have a memorable cruise home in sheer comfort & speed. Remember, this is one of the best & most reliable chassis's that mercedes & AMG has produced. The only problem I foresee is you bypassing your home to continue your driving passion in a car that was produced to feast on the autobahn!
Evening everyone! With 2 days remaining on my beautiful e55, I wanted to chime in and see if there was any additional questions I can help answer? Please don't hesitate to reach out!
Hahahaha that must definitely be a Mercedes quirk of that era automobile! As for mechanical condition, the old saying goes, "drives better than she looks"! Buttery smooth shifts, very smooth idle, no funny smells from leaks, very torquey response, precise brakes, & a phenomenal highway cruiser especially with the maintenance we just completed.
@vitaliinycThank you! She's definitely beautiful in person. The front paintwork has some very minor chips in the front from use, but nothing major, we're very ocd. On the hood near the top vent is a scuff that was professionally touched up and colorsanded which you'd only notice if I pointed it out. The only thing that does not work to my knowledge is the driver front seat electronic headrest adjustment.
I want to personally welcome, & thank everyone for taking the time to view our beautiful 1999 Mercedes E55 AMG. This w210 definitely shows pride of ownership history throughout its young 22 years. Please do not hesitate to reach out to myself with any questions. The car can also be seen in El Cajon, CA as its being stored in a climate controlled facility till auction end.
