This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC is finished in Astral Silver (735) over Blue Leather and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 mated with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 17” monoblock-style wheels, automatic climate control, a power operated sliding sunroof, heat-insulated glass with a heated rear window, cruise control, central locking and power windows. An aftermarket bluetooth Continental head unit sits in place of the factory Becker radio. Recent maintenance included a full respray, new rear window and frame, full tune-up, new alternator, accessory belts and a new fuel pump. This 450SLC is now offered for sale by the selling dealer in Miami, Florida with a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Astral Silver (735) and features chrome trim along the beltline, window trim and bumpers. The car received a full respray in its original color with documentation provided in the photo gallery. Exterior features include front fog lights, an automatic antenna, a power operated sliding sunroof, heat-insulating glass and a heated rear window.
Aftermarket 17” monoblock-style wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires measuring 225/45 front and 245/40 rear. The wheels wear a silver finish with a polished lip and feature a Mercedes-Benz star mounted in the center. The wheels are in good condition with no signs of curb rash or damage.
The cabin is finished in Blue Leather which can be found on the seats, dashboard, door panels and center armrest with wood trim lining the center console and dashboard. Interior equipment includes automatic climate control with air conditioning, power windows, central locking, cruise control, an aftermarket Continental bluetooth head unit and aftermarket Pioneer speakers. The front seats fold forward to allow access to the second row.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer which sits alongside a 7k-rpm tachometer and an analog clock with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six digit odometer currently shows 461 miles and true mileage is unknown.
This C107 is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 which is factory rated at 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Recent maintenance included a set of new spark plugs, an engine oil and oil filter change, a new alternator and new accessory belts. Additional maintenance items include a new fuel pump, a new fuel distributor and a new rear window with a new seal and frame.
Service documentation has been provided by the dealer and can be found in the photo gallery below. This 1979 450SLC is now offered for sale in Miami, Florida with a clean Florida title.
Thanks to a longer wheelbase and fixed roof, the C107 SLC was able to offer the same experience as the R107 SL in a fixed-roof package that provided seating for 4. Luxury features for the time period such as automatic climate control, power windows and cruise control, give this SLC a phenomenal classic Mercedes-Benz luxury experience paired with stunning coupe styling. With production ending in 1981, the SLC was produced in far smaller numbers than its soft-top counterpart making it much more rare and difficult to find. This example presents really well with its recently refinished Astral Silver paint and Blue Leather interior. These C107 SLC coupes are still somewhat under the radar and offer great value for money for a Mercedes enthusiast looking for their next classic.
