This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Nautical Blue Metallic over Blue leather and power is provided by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential. Features include a replacement black soft top, a removable hardtop, fog lights, a Becker cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. The car was purchased by its current owner in 2012 and has reportedly stayed in Texas since new. Extensive servicing since 2021 included a reseal of the transmission, new Bilstein shocks, an oil service and replacement of the timing chain, radiator, thermostat, fan clutch, engine mounts, valve-cover gaskets, crankshaft and rear-main seals, and fuel tank and pump as well as the tie-rod assemblies and the brake master cylinder, pads, and rotors. Now showing 66k miles, this R107 is now offered on dealer consignment with a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
The car is finished in Nautical Blue Metallic (929) and underwent a full body repaint in its factory color in 2018. A paint-matched removable hardtop will accompany the car along with a black soft top. Both the hardtop seals and soft top were replaced within the last 2 years. Additional exterior features include fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. The seller reports blemished paint on the rear license-plate cove.
Factory chrome 15″ eight-hole alloy wheels are mounted with 205/65 Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires with older date codes. The car was factory-equipped with power steering, fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Bilstein shocks have been fitted, and the drag link and tie-rod assemblies are said to have been replaced since 2021 along with the braking system’s master cylinder, right-rear caliper, and pads and rotors. A scrape on the right-front rim is visible in the gallery.
The interior is upholstered in Blue leather (272) and shows matching blue carpets, door cards, and dashboard. Interior appointments include a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. The seller reports the door latches were recently replaced and a blemish on the passenger seat cushion, along with a tear and worn upholstery on the driver’s seat outer bolster is visible. Original burl wood trim accents the center console with cracks shown around the window switches.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just over 66k miles.
The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential, and underbody photos are viewable in the gallery. Within the last two years, the following servicing items have been performed:

@mayart All the most recent work was done in 2021.
@mayart You are correct. They did not register the car for whatever reason. Occasionally this happens with older cars. I personally did not register both of my W123's last few years either. We have the receipts for the work done on the car since it was all done by our classic repair facility right here in downtown Dallas. Look at the last few pictures of the hard top and you can see the other cars in the background. I am confident that you can drive this R107 to California. Just note that the date codes on these tires are 2012. I would suggest getting some new ones.
@seller Why is there no entry on the Carfax since 2012. Didn't the owner register the car during the last 14 years? It maybe too late to post some of the recent service records, but can you tell us what dates those repairs mentioned above were completed? By the way, is the car in a good condition so it can be driven back to southern California?
Thanks @MBHOLIC!!

I had the chance to see this car in person last week - it is even better than the photographs! What's not to like? Striking color combination, low mileage , rust-free Texas car, thoroughly maintained by Mercedes specialist. Frankly, I am surprised the bidding is still only at this level for such a car. If I was in the market for a 560SL, I would pounce on the opportunity. Good luck to next owner!

@mdrei The AC works just fine and is the R134 system. Use the "message seller button" at the top of the page so we can figure out a time to see the car locally.
Does the AC work or been converted? And is this available to see in person? Thank You.

@Daw8071 All four Michelins on the car right now. Date codes are seen in the pics as 2012. The continentals you see from the under carriage pics where taken off as we were sourcing the correct chrome wheels. The previous owner had W140 wheels.
