Toni1951, I just went thru restoration file.Unless we all want to review pages and pages of just under $50,000 in receipts that give detailed work accomplished that particular week-i.e. attached exhaust system,wire fuel pump,sand underside of hood,and on and on it goes.There is too much for this presentation.
Thank you for your comment. Ironically we left the Madison Smith badge on the trunklid because that was the selling Mercedes Benz franchise in Nashville at the time. Dont know about you but I like provenance and proof of it, this badge is part of the history. Toni11950 wanted see some records. I will go thru the 2" file and post a few but this car is so well documented, it is foolish to try and post even a third of what is here. The questions and statements give me insight that we have not have relayed the integrity and history of this car properly. The car has always lived in Nashville, serviced here and refurbished here with documents and books since DAY 1. This is not a car that has been beat around ,traveled here ,lived there, cut here ,bondo there! This is the "REAL" deal that one would be challenged to criticize the integrity, drivability ,and history. If you have been looking for a great example of one of these iconic Mercedes Benz classic-STEP UP AND BID!
Good morning, Toni1951-There has been no floor board,fender,quarter,trunk floor replace ment on this car.EVERY panel still has the factory spot wields,factory under coating,factory wield seams.Historical docs have no indication of cutting and wielding.In addition,the vehicle itself shows as an original sheet metal car.
This car is definitely NOT a color change.The listing is posted incorrect.
Jim, I agree and had we been on our game the reserve would have been lifted and car sold. Car is available and we will sell for the $180,top bid. Jeff Frazier
@thegerman The A/C is working!
Mark EVERYTHING WORKS ON THIS CAR!! This is a tough car to convey how really unique,fresh,and crisp the car is without one being present for the tactile experience.Items such as wiper and turn signal stalks still have the tight feel of a new car.Seats still are up as if it were 1983.The entire car has solid,fresh feel that has been maintained thru the years. In regards to an earlier comment on a possible oil leak,we had it reviewed and it is no more than seepage that a 15 minute replacement of a gasket will rectify if one were so inclined.In regards to steering,this is no more than an alignment which we will have done before transfer of ownership
Jim I am not aware if compensator core is in parts that came with car I will contact my shop and see if it is there Stabdby
Restoration shop was Hellenistic Foreign Car Repair in Pompano Beach Fl Receipts are in file
You are absolutely correct.Kudos to the staff of MB Marketplace.Most online venues take weeks to get your submission live.This and another we’re live within hours after submission,caught me flat footed . I regards to steering wheel placement,steering is tight with no play,possibly a steering wheel alignment is in order. In regards to a possible leak,this car was so well looked after I would suggest if there was a need it would have been addressed. I will have the car put on lift before end of auction,get a report and post an answer
My apologies to all interested parties with questions .I am on holiday during the duration of this posting.I will answer all questions but may be slow in my responses Thank tou
