This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC is finished in Black (040) over Grey Leather (278), and power is provided by a 5.5-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The car was modified by Coach Builders Limited of Florida to feature a fully electric folding soft top. Additional equipment includes automatic climate control, heated front seats with power adjustment and memory, an integrated Bell Atlantic phone, cruise control and an adjustable power steering column. The Carfax report shows an A/C overhaul performed in 2006 and no accidents or damage since new. This coach-built 560SEC is now offered for sale by the selling dealer with one key, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) with contrasting grey lower body cladding. Chrome trim is found along the beltline as well as both front and rear bumpers. Exterior equipment includes headlight wiper/washers, front fog lamps and electrically adjustable side mirrors. The car was modified by Coach Builders Limited of Florida to feature a fully electric folding soft top. The conversion is believed to have been done in the late 80's. The soft top is noted to be in good condition with no rips, a clear back window, and fits tightly with no issues. The build also features a reinforced substructure for chassis rigidity.
Silver-finished 15” Gullideckel wheels wear Michelin Pilot Exalto tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners showing 2006 date codes. The 560SEC features four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes along with a self-leveling rear suspension system. A spare tire and factory jack are included under the trunk floor.
The cabin is trimmed in Grey Leather (278) and features Burl Walnut wood trim which can be found on the center console, dashboard and door panels. A hairline crack is visible around the window switches. The front seats are heated and power adjustable with two-position memory. Interior features include automatic climate control, cruise control, a power telescoping steering column and an aftermarket Dual Audio head unit with bluetooth. An integrated Bell Atlantic phone is located in the center console. The full wool headliner of the soft top can be retracted electrically from inside the cabin. The seller notes wear on the driver seat and center arm rest as pictured in the gallery.
The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer currently reads just under 101k miles. The antilock and bulb out warning lights are illuminated on the cluster and a digital outside temperature indicator is mounted in the center.
This 560SEC is powered by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 which is factory rated at 238 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. There are no service records with the car, although the Carfax report does show an A/C overhaul in 2006.
The Carfax report shows first entry in 1993 with linear mileage updates and no accidents or damage reports. This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC Cabriolet is now offered with one key, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.

@Tom69 this auction ended. You can send me a direct message where it says message seller with your phone number and I will send you the information you want
Could we get a few more pictures of the underside of the vehicle? I assume that reinforcements have been added there for the convertible. Furthermore, it would be interesting to see what the condition is like from underneath. thank you

@Contactkg all four windows go down all the way

Does the right rear window go all the way down? In the photos it appears not to while all other windows are down, including left rear.

@Jnasty Serviced the top mechanism and verified functionality, changed the engine oil, checked the cooling system, refinished the wheels...
@germancars -can you detail what - exactly - you have performed for service on the car post your purchase? I am not accusing you of driving on 19 year old oil. You said "carfax details service" and no service at all is detailed post 2016. So I am asking you to fill in the 19 year gap, or at least what's been done under your ownership.
@Jnasty We own a very large MB collection and have a full staff of personnel taking care of it in our facility. Of course I am not driving the car on old oil and belts. Maybe other people would. Refer to the provided videos and photographs and observe the quality of the car. If you are still skeptical and interested in bidding, you are more than welcome to PPI at your own cost with a qualified MB technician.
@germancars - you wrote "The service history and odometer are very detailed in the Carfax history". The Carfax shows ONE major service in 2006, that was 19 years ago, zero services records since. And it was driven 28 miles in 9 years following. No records on recomissioning? You did nothing when you bought it? You are driving on 19 year old oil and belts?

@jefree54 @herlofs We have 4 Cabriolet SEC, two SGS, a Straman and this one. All tops sit like that folded. this car was not intended from factory to be Cabriolet. The cover is just missing and there is nothing wrong with the top mechanism.
the top dies t seem to go all the way down, why is that? and is that why you can’t fit a tonneau cover over it?
The convertible top seem like sitting really high , does it goes down further ,and is there a cover the for the top hen its down .cn you submit a video of the convertible top operation
MB should've offered a topless version of the SEC. This is killer!

@300GWRO Hi JN, This car drives amazingly, glides on the road and offers you that signature Benz S Class feel, which shows the meticulous maintenance throughout its history. The service history and odometer are very detailed in the Carfax history. The light bulb warning was a blown bulb replaced and the ABS light needs to be addressed.

Hi.....any idea of this cars history at all: owners, records (build), service records (routine oil changes, brakes, ABS, suspension, top hydraulics , tranny, perishables and so forth). Have you looked into why those 2 dash lights mentioned are illuminated?.....especially the "Anti-lock". Car available for inspection locally to your shop? Thank you, JN
