This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300CE was reportedly purchased new through Mercedes-Benz of Atlanta by the original owner. The current owner purchased the coupe from RBM (Mercedes-Benz) Atlanta in 1992 and have kept service records since. Finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) over Palomino Leather (274), power is provided by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent service includes a complete fluid flush and service records are included dating back to 1992 with the current owner. Features include automatic climate control, power front seats, a power sunroof, and a power antenna. The selling dealer is offering this 300CE on consignment and will be facilitating the purchase. This C124 currently shows 108,922 miles on the odometer and is offered by the selling dealer with a folder of complete maintenance records, manufacturer's literature, two original keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
Finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) with contrasting Beige lower body cladding, this coupe shows regular wear including light scratches on the rear left of the decklid. Features include a power sliding sunroof with tilt function, headlight washers with automatic wipers, and a pillarless window design. The front right fender and insert below the right headlamp show rock chips and can be seen in the gallery below.
This example retains the original silver-painted Gullideckel wheels measuring 15x7 on all four corners. The wheels are wrapped in Michelin X-Tour A/S tires measuring 195/65 all around. The front left wheel shows light curb rash about an inch long. A full-size spare and the original tool kit are located beneath the trunk floor.
The cabin is trimmed in Palomino Leather (274) across the seats, door cards, armrest, and center console. Additionally, black leather trims the upper dashboard, steering wheel, and shift knob. The dashboard is free from cracks along with the door cards and rear headrests. The retractable seat belt arms for the front seats are both operational and function as intended. Also controlled from the cabin are the rear headrests, power antenna, four power windows, and the automatic climate control. The center console is trimmed in original Zebrano wood and shows some light cracking and fading near the shifter surround and window switches. Interior features include the original Becker head unit (with security code) which is still operational and functions as intended. Original brown Mercedes-Benz carpet floor mats are included and shown in the gallery.
The analog odometer shows 108,922 original miles. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6,400-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure along with an analog clock and digital external temperature gauge.
The 3.0-liter M103 inline-six was rated at 185 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque when new, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission. While a recent service includes a complete fluid flush, service records are included dating back to 1992 with the current owner.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage along with 33 service history records and registration exclusive to Georgia. This 1988 300CE is offered by the selling dealer with a folder of complete maintenance records, manufacturer's literature, two original keys, and a clean Georgia title.
Videos from the seller show a walk around, interior tour, and start up with various functions.
We've said it before; There’s something unmistakably striking about the pillarless 124 chassis coupe. Despite having been out of production for nearly 30 years, the pillarless design by legendary designer Bruno Sacco still turns heads more heads than the gobs of electric-powered plastic ovals leaving the factory today. The proportions on this manageable, daily-drivable 6-cylinder coupe make it just the right size for everyday enjoyment or occasional off-map outings. The Smoke Silver paint promotes a sharp and sophisticated attitude, and a Palomino cabin is rarely seen. Both prior owners of have kept thorough records, documenting their affinity for this car and keeping it in top condition. This timeless classic is primed to find a new home with a driver who will appreciate it for another 30 years to come and continue the heritage and provenance this coupe carries.

Oops.. brake work
What engine, suspension and break work has been done as normal maintenance over the years? Timing chain replacement? Tire age?
@APSloan1 Good catch- you're right. We've requested the change.
I believe the wood dash is Zebrano wood not burl walnut as stated. The S class 560 got the burl I believe.
Thank you! Usually they do, but not always. Much appreciated.
@Jim_Rosenthal They will go with the car, thanks.

@Axle Records are in the gallery now. Original purchase agreement and promissory note are included- even a copy of the check written to buy the car. More than $12,500 in repairs over the years are documented with the most recent being a new radiator in January of '22. Bid with confidence and ping us with any questions!

All, welcome to our 300CE auction. As the listing points out, this has been a two owner example with current ownership dating back to 1992. @Axle we'll be uploading service records today and we'll reach out once those are up. It's by no means a show car but a true testament to how well these cars were built for decades of daily duty. It's a fantastic survivor and ready for the next 30-year home.
Is there anyway to view the service records?
