This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Midnight Blue (904) over Grey Leather (278) and power is provided by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The car shows registration history in Maryland from new until 2004 when the car relocated to Pennsylvania where it's remained ever since. Features include a dark blue soft top, a removable hardtop, fog lights, a Becker cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. In preparation for the sale, the car received a fresh oil and filter change, state inspection, and tire rotation. Now showing 53k miles, this R107 is now offered by the seller with service history since 2005, original tool roll & jack, full-size spare, one master key, one valet key, first aid kit, the original window sticker, spare sheepskin seat covers, cloth hardtop cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Midnight Blue (904) and features a paint-matched removable hardtop along with a dark blue soft top. A fitted cloth cover for the hardtop is included in the sale. Additional exterior features include fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. The Carfax report is clear from any accident history and the paint is believed to be all original. Extensive photos are provided in the gallery showing the details of the car.
Factory 15″ gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with 205/65 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus tires. The car was factory-equipped with power steering, fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The original tool roll, jack, and full-size factory spare are located under the trunk floor.
The interior is upholstered in Grey Leather (278) and shows matching carpets and door cards with a black upper dashboard and steering wheel. Interior appointments include a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/cassette stereo, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. Original burl wood trim accents the center console which shows some hairline cracks. The dash is clean with no cracks and the leather seats remain soft and supple without any major creasing or wear. Fitted sheepskin covers for the front seats were previously fitted and are included in the sale.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows just over 53k miles.
The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential. An oil and filter change was recently performed in preparation for the sale along with a state inspection and tire rotation. A history of documented service history since 2005 accompanies the car and shows a major service in August 2016 when the car had 48k miles which included new head gaskets, valve seals, oil pan gaskets, transmission seal, transmission fluid & filter, new brake master cylinder, brake fluid flush, power steering pump seals, motor mounts, chain guides, O2 sensor, shifter bushings, vacuum hoses, washer pump, intake seals, injector seals, throttle switch, AC tension pulley, spark plugs, breather hose, fuel filter and both valve cover gaskets. Since that time, the car has received annual state inspections and other minor servicing including a new battery, left tie rod assembly, AC recharge, and regular oil changes. The work since 2005 has been performed by independent Mercedes-Benz specialist shop Bross Automotive according to the seller.
The seller has provided driving footage and a cold start of the car below.

Thanks for the bid Wolfgang! I’ll try to answer your questions as best I can. To the best of my knowledge all major components are original to the car. None have been replaced, including the soft top or any top seals, during my mother-in-laws ownership since 2004. The car was purchased from a specialty dealer and no service history was provided at that time. I researched the tires (Michelin MXV4 Energy Plus} and as far as I can determine they are V rated (max 149 mph). The paint appears original with no signs of repair that can be detected (eg. color mismatch, overspray, wrenched painted bolts, odd panel gaps,, etc.) The soft top is, as it appears, in excellent condition and the seals are intact and are original to current ownership. The AC was converted to R134a before it was purchased in 2004. A label on the cowl under the hood includes that info. Bross Automotive went over the car thoroughly June 2024 and everything he identified was addressed including AC recharge for the first time since purchase in 2004. It was working and cold, but he identified below spec pressure so charged it to spec. All vents work. I have done my best to photo and point out identified scratches and dents in the photos with black arrows. The seat leather is as it appears in the photos. The leather looks and feels new. The description was the MB Market writers not mine. Hope that helps.
A cold start video has been added to the listing.

@Jhostetter Seller always the same questions: - are the engine, transmission, rear axle assembly, and frame of the car and all other features original and therefore “matching numbers”? - what are the DOTs of the new tires? with this tires of class "R" you are aloud only to drive with 170 km/h (about 103 mls/h). That maybe enough for the US but not for Germany. We need a class "VR". so I must change the new tires again - unfortunately! - first paint? What did you hear about it from the seller of the car when you bought it in 2004? - is the softtop the original one? - how old are the seals of the softtop? - how is the condition of the softtop and the seals? - was the AC recharge already done with R134a?? - does the A/C blow only cool or ice cold? - Are all the vents working? - does there exist a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) you c an post? - What about other scratches, dents, cracks, and other problems that have not been described? - what does it mean the leather of the seats are: "without any major creasing or wear"? would you pls post some close pics of it! - Have all the problems from June 24, 2024 mentioned in your list been fixed? Thx Wolfgang

Thank you for looking at the listing of this really striking 560 SL.! This is, in my opinion, the most attractive color combination for this car that was made. This was a styling era for the SL that has really retained an ever appealing aesthetic, and this example is in exceptional condition. This car has been kept fully sorted and everything operates as it should. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to chat about it If you would like to arrange to see it in person or even take it out for a test drive. please let me know. I am confident you won’t be disappointed.
