This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was originally delivered to the first owner in New Jersey where it has remained since new. Finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) over Palomino Leather (274), power is provided by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a removable paint-matched original hardtop, a original brown soft top, air conditioning with automatic climate control, a Becker radio, and original floor mats. Service within the last year totals over $11k and includes a complete fuel system refurbishment, brake fluid flush, new spark plugs, an oil service and more. The seller is listing this example on consignment for the current owner and the odometer shows only 18k miles. This example is now offered in New Jersey with a recent service, clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title.
The body is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) and features a hand-painted pinstripe on each side. Exterior features include an original brown soft top, chrome mirror caps, North American-spec headlamps and bumpers, and front fog lamps. The original paint-matched hardtop is included and features original glass with rear defrost. The seller notes minor paint imperfections as pictured in the gallery with minor clearcoat hazing on the lower right rear quarter panel. The plastic O-rings on top of the windshield have been recently replaced and the seller notes the rubber weather stripping around the hardtop is worn. Matching vin stamps can be seen in the gallery as well.
This 560SL wears original silver-painted 15x7” Gullideckel wheels wrapped in General Altimax tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners and show 2022 date codes. Up close photos of each wheel is provided in the gallery and all are free from any bends and feature original painted center caps.
The cabin is upholstered in Palomino Leather (274) across the seats, door cards, armrest, and head rests. The Burl wood trim remains all original and has not been refinished. Matching Palomino floor mats line the footwells. Interior features include air conditioning with automatic climate control, an electrically adjustable passenger side mirror, sun visors with working vanity mirrors, a dash mounted temperature gauge, and original Beck head unit.
Instrumentation includes VDO gauges featuring a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, oil pressure, fuel economy, and an analog clock. The seller notes the SRS light is intermittent and the 6-digit odometer currently reports just over 18k miles.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.3 automatic four-speed transmission. Thorough photos of the engine bay and underbody are viewable in the gallery. A notable amount of maintenance has been performed over the last year totalling over $11k with receipts included. The seller notes the AC compressor to be leaking. Service within the last year is outlined below:

The 3 new pics of the brown top are not included in the return of all the pics. I need these for my wife's viewing so she gets the complete accurate understanding of the car. We are looking at another one right now with similar exterior color combo, but I prefer this one, if the price is right. Thanks, Richard
MB Market got the pictures in the Gallery back, Paul
Something has happened. I can't see all the pics I saw the other day. Please let me know what I have to do to see all the pics you have included in your listing. I can only see the pics included in the initial comment section explaining the car. Thanks, Richard

Rlanning, I am unable to get a picture to you at this time. Can assure you it is an original brown factory soft top in excellent cond. as are all three windows. I will try to get pics to you this week. Paul
please take more pics of the top so the brown shows its color. It looks very black right now. Thanks, Richard
Additional photos have been added to the gallery.
The paint measures 3-3.5, It all looks, and feels, to be original with no tape edges or overspray. Also all vin # tags are on all panels. No obvious frame damage or repairs.
Dean, The soft top is original and in excellent condition as are the windows. I don't think it was used much at all . the seals on the outside areas of the storage compartment that normally show wear are excellent. Thanks, Paul Kieffer
@Seller Any chance we could get some paint meter readings?

Nice R107. Is the soft-top original OEM? You can tell by looking at all 3 rear windows and they should be stamped with a Mercedes-Benz polyglass symbol on each window. Top looks great, and if original even more so. You will best serve this auction with a few videos of the car running and driving. When selling a car like this 60-100 photos seldom gets the job done. Dont be afraid to add a lot more photos highlighting the vehicle's condition. I may be interested in going after this one, but would need to see it in person. I will send you a DM to see if that is possible. Best of luck !!! Dean

@oneslyone I want to answer on here but not sure how to upload. I will find out tomorrow. Meantime, the main part of the hood insulation is new I'll take a picture of it.,the rear area below the w/washer nozzles is not there, I'm not sure if it is available. The full picture of the engine compartment shows alot, the one of the engine oil dipstidck and P/S belts was taken to show the the date of 3/87 on the belt. What other pictures of engine compartment would you like? Paul
