This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL is finished in Astral Silver (735) over Blue leather (262) and power comes from a 3.0-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. In Summer 2020, the car received a brake service including a new master cylinder, rear brake lines, and a brake fluid flush while the rotors and pads were replaced in Spring 2020. Amenities include “tempomat” cruise control, an electronically adjustable steering column, electricly adjustable front seats with memory, and courtesy/reading lamps for the front and rear. The odometer currently reads 84,300 miles with less than 1k added by the seller over the past year and a half. This W126 sedan is now offered by the present owner with factory literature, a tool kit, three keys, original blue floormats, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title.

The exterior of this long-wheelbase flagship sedan is finished in Astral Silver (735) with contrasting dark gray lower cladding, and the finish and paint condition is shown up close in the gallery below. Exterior equipment includes chrome-accented bumpers, headlamp wipers, and a power-operated sunroof. The seller believes the front passenger fender has been repainted and the front passenger door shows some minor scrapes. The rear glass remains free of delamination in both lower corners and the chrome trim in good condition.

The original Mercedes 15-hole 15” wheels are coated in factory silver finish with some visible wear marks. Accelera Eco Plus tires measuring 205/65 are mounted on all four corners. A factory full-sized spare is mounted in the trunk along with the OEM tool kit. In Summer 2020, the car received a brake service including a new master cylinder, rear brake lines, and a brake fluid flush. Notably, the rotors and pads were replaced in Spring 2020. Creaking can be heard at low speed from the front passenger corner and is believed to need new ball joints.

The interior is trimmed in Blue leather (262) and features matching carpets and door panels. The factory blue dash is devoid of cracks or other blemishes. Amenities include “tempomat” cruise control, electronically adjustable steering column, automatic antenna, memory seats for both driver and passenger and courtesy/reading lamps for the front and rear. Zebrano wood trim accents the center console, dash, and doors of the cabin and around the shifter bezel and window switches show cracks and warping. The car retains its original Becker Grand Prix cassette head unit and factory Blue floor mats are included with the sale. In the trunk, the factory spare wheel and tire along with toolkit are also included.

The airbag steering wheel frames the factory gauge cluster featuring a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, fuel economy, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows approximately 84,300 miles.

The 3.0-liter M103 inline-six is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Factory-rated output was 177 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. During summer 2020, the car received a driveshaft rebuild, new door lock actuators, and a brake service including a new master cylinder, rear brake lines, and a brake fluid flush, along with an oil and filter change. Currently the blower motor does operate but does not blow cold.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage in addition to linear mileage updates throughout the car’s history. The seller states that the car is completely rust free and photos of the underbody are viewable in the gallery below. Another Sacco-designed masterpiece, the W126 has certainly stood the test of time and continues to standout in a sea of automobiles today. The look is unmistakably classic Mercedes with strong boxy lines and enough road presence that leaders across the globe in the 80’s and 90’s could at least agree that this was the vehicle of choice for such stature. Today, these cars still turn heads and remain highly sought after due to their incredible build quality and drivability. The 3.0L M103 provided owners with low maintenance costs while the long-wheel-base offered maximum seating comfort for all passengers. Of course we can’t forget to mention the colorful palette of interiors offered at the time which included this Blue leather with matching blue carpets and dash. @JohnnySellz Windows, door locks, power seats, horn etc all work just fine. We’ve not daily driven the car ourselves, but it’s never failed to start or had any issues running.

@dwcars Overall the car is glossy. There is some “cracking” along the edges of the roof and trunk. Nothing more than typical for the age.
