This 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 wagon is a one-owner example finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) over Parchment (265) leather. Power is provided by a 3.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. This example has been in California since new and features include power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, a roof rack, and third-row seating. Significant documented service includes replacement of the head gasket (2017), transmission rebuild (2021), and a new wiring harness (2020). This S124 now shows 108k miles and is offered in California with factory literature, a binder of service records since 1998, a stamped service booklet showing service visits from 1996-2008, original OEM cassette stereo head unit, workshop manual, indoor car/dust cover, a collection of MBCA “The Star” magazines, OEM touch-up paint, a Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) and features darker lower body cladding. Exterior equipment includes body-colored side mirrors, a roof rack, sunroof with tilt function, and a rear window wiper. An exterior detail was performed by the selling dealer. A collision repair invoice regarding the 2011 accident shows that the driver’s side front corner was repaired after a minor/moderate impact. No airbags were deployed and the headlamp, bumper cover, apron, and the front driver’s fender, were repainted following the incident.
OEM Mercedes 16″ alloy wheels from a W210 E420 are fitted and feature wheel locks with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires that show date codes from 2017 and measure 205/55/16 all around.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Parchment (265) leather with matching door panels and carpeting while Zebrano wood trim accents the doors, dashboard, and center console. OEM Mercedes-Benz all-weather "HexMats" are installed and included with the sale. Equipment includes power-adjustable front seats with memory settings for the driver, automatic climate control, a leather steering wheel & shift knob, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. The original Cassette stereo was replaced with an upgraded OEM “CD Radio Special” unit from Mercedes-Benz. The original cassette unit is included with the sale in addition to the installed, upgraded unit and its original box.
The airbag steering wheel is wrapped in leather and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows under 109k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The cargo area features a rear-facing bench seat that folds flat into the floor as well as an OEM cargo cover and cargo net dividing the second row from the rear comparment.
The 3.2-liter M104 inline-six produced 217 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque when new and power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. This example has had all of the major S124 services that are usually required: In 2021, the transmission was rebuilt by Peter Schmidt of Burlingame, CA at which time the drive plate was renewed and the rear main seal and cover were replaced. The head gasket was replaced by the dealer (Von Housen) in April 2017, and the wiring harness was replaced in March 2020. A binder of service records dating back to 1998 also accompanies the car and details additional services and regular maintenance.
The sale includes two keys, factory literature, a stamped service booklet, a binder of service records since 1998, additional OEM cassette stereo, workshop manual, a collection of MBCA “The Star” magazines, OEM touch-up paint, a Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The Carfax report shows one-owner since new exclusively in California, and linear mileage updates through its most recent entry in September 2021.
