The MB Market Insights
When introduced in 2000, the ML55 AMG was the world’s fastest production SUV making it a pioneer in one of the largest and most popular automotive segmentations today. While fast SUVs are commonplace on dealership lots today, the idea was somewhat foriegn at the turn of the century so Mercedes produced the ML55 in limited quantities. The naturally aspirated AMG-tuned M113 has proven to be a robust and reliable engine and was also used in the W202 C43 and W210 E55. Just over 4k units were produced in total for the US market with only 1,105 in 2001. This ML55 remains completely stock and was sent to us by the owner for pictures and videos for the sale. The truck is now being stored just outside of Roanoke, VA in a climate controlled facility with a battery tender. If you’ve spent any time searching for ML55s, you’ve probably realized that most have cracked bumpers and poorly worn leather on both front seats. Oftentimes, the headlights will be heavily oxidized and yellowed along with clear coat failure on each of the fender arches. We’re happy to say this ML55 suffers from none of the typical wear items seen on these trucks and appears to have been well-cared for throughout its life. With such limited production numbers, these trucks are getting harder to find and we expect values to continue to trend upwards.
