This 2014 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG was sold new by Mercedes-Benz of Beverly Hills, California to the original owner in October of 2013. It remained with the original owner in Southern California until May 2021 with regular dealer service and preventative maintenance. The current owner recently purchased the car with 41k miles on the odometer from a Carmax retailer in Southern California at which point the seller purchased a transferable 5-year, 100k mile extended warranty. Finished in Black (040) over Black/Anthracite (531) Exclusive Leather, this Coupe is one of a handful examples produced for the 2014 model year. Power comes from a 6.0-liter biTurbo V12 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Features on this rare example include Distronic Plus, Parktronic, Driver Assistance, Multi-Contour front seats, Night View Assist Plus, Split View COMAND, and Bi-xenon headlamps. Recent service includes a plug service, new rotors and pads, engine mounts, a new cabin air filter, and new tires. This example is now being offered by the seller complete with the CarMax MaxCare warranty, maintenance history, two original keys, a recent Carfax report, and a clean Kentucky title. 

The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features AMG styling cues including sculpted bumpers and side skirts along with a quad-tipped AMG exhaust. The facelifted models benefitted from LED daytime running lamps on the revised lower front fascia and LED taillights in the rear along with Adaptive High Beam Assist, Attention Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping, PRE-SAFE Braking, and Direct Steer. In June 2016, a minor accident is reported on the Carfax. According to Carfax, minor damage is usually cosmetic, including dents or scratches to the vehicle body. All body panels remain original with no signs of previous paint work. Reportedly, less than 20 2014 CL65’s were produced for the North American market. 

Staggered AMG 20” wheels measuring 20x8.5" in the front and 20x9.5" in the rear are shown with no signs of bends or curb rash. New Ventus V12 Evo 2 tires are mounted and show 2017 date codes; they were installed by CarMax at the time of purchase. Tucked behind the wheels are AMG-branded, silver multi-piston brake calipers and cross-drilled discs measuring 15.4″ up front and 14.4″ in the rear.

In the cabin, the seats, doors, dashboard, and center console are adorned in Black hand-stitched Nappa leather with seats and doors showing diamond-stitched centers. The original Black carpet floor mats are included and show CL65 AMG embossing. The cabin features carbon fiber trim finishing the center console, door cards, and armrest. The A-pillars and headliner are trimmed in Anthracite alcantara. Interior features include dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated multi-contour seats, adjustable ambient lighting, and an IWC Schaffhausen timepiece in the dashboard. 

The Black leather-trimmed steering wheel features multi-function controls for the COMAND infotainment systems and frames an electronic gauge cluster. The cluster features a 220-mph digital speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital speedometer display can be programmed to show various infotainment functions and readouts. The odometer currently reads just under 42k miles. 

The twin-turbocharged and intercooled 6.0-liter V12 was factory-rated at 621 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 738 lb-ft of torque between 2,300 to 4,300 rpm. Earlier model CL65's were rated at 604 horsepower and the power increase for the later model is a result of larger turbocharger piping, reprogrammed electronics, a new revised alternator, new piston rings, modified oil pump, a larger cooling-air intake, and upgraded coating on the catalytic converters; all of which were worked up by the wizards at AMG. Along with a reduction in fuel consumption via regenerative braking for battery management of both the on-board electrical system and generator. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 722.6 five-speed AMG Speedshift transmission. The engine is covered by an AMG-exclusive carbon fiber airbox showing the signature of the single-engine maker emblazoned on a plaque at the center of the airbox. Recent service includes a plug service, new rotors and pads, engine mounts, and a new cabin air filter. The transmission was replaced under warranty at Mercedes-Benz Encino, California.

This AMG coupe is protected by a transferrable five-year, 100,000-mile “bumper-to-bumper” warranty underwritten by Carmax protecting the vehicle through the earlier of either October 2026 or 100,000 miles. This warranty covers all components and systems on the entire vehicle except for consumables and interior trim wear & tear. A $150 deductible applies to the warranty when serviced at a Mercedes-Benz dealer or other dealer/independent mechanic, or a $100 deductible applies when the car is dropped for service at a Carmax location and subsequently transferred to Mercedes-Benz for repair.
