@zachmac I think BS came with different wheels. The only Mercedes cars I know that had ET60 from that era were R-Class and ML-Class but they had different wheels. Other Mercedes cars normally had ET in between high 20s and low 40s. But I'm not sure I know about 100% of Mercedes wheels.
Haven't seen W220 19" AMG wheels with ET60. I've only seen ET44 and ET46.
I met with the seller today and I saw this car. Very nice example of CLS55, very clean car inside and outside, lots of love and funds spent on this car! It looks great in person!

Very nice wheels! Mercedes indeed produced pretty interesting and unique wheels for their fast coupes like these Alphards and also Turbines for SLR. If my SL R230 didn't have its 2-piece 19" AMG wheels, I'd definitely get wheels like these Alphards.

Normally I prefer going to car shows because they have more cars but it depends. I'd like to visit a Mercedes car meet, but not sure if there are any around me. Never heard about it...
@Drkkrkn On demo days they pick few cars from their museum, do a lecture about them or about some events or races where they raced and then they start them and do few laps on their improvised raced track and then they park them, open hoods, trunks, doors so everyone can have a close look. This week on 28th there will be another demo day where they bring 55' 300SL. Next week will be dedicated to making of Ford GT. There will be some nice vintage Ford GT cars there. On June 4th there will be "Birth of the Ford GT" event. I'll be there on June 4th, not sure about this saturday.
@Drkkrkn Thanks! I just scrolled down - I see you have a nice collection of Benzes there. I have few Benzes too, but not as much as you do. And Aldan is about 45-50 mins from where I live in Delaware. I'll be in Simeone museum which near PHL airport on June 4 - on that day they will be doing another demo day there. I highly recommend visiting that place. I you ever go there on demo days it would be nice to have a quick chat about Benzes and cars in general.
Any W140/C140 actually made in 1999 or they all made in 1998? Car looks nice. I guess paint gauge could provide more light but it's too late. I have 97 (actually made in 96) S600 with the same interior color as this one and I'd like to have a center armrest from later models like this one.

Saving original parts is pretty wise! I didn't do it before with my previous car and now after learning that lesson I'm trying to save all original parts as well. So It's great this beauty comes with all that original stuff. Tomorrow it should be hot in here! 😉

Interesting auction... Early M113K G55. No underbody pics, no close-up pics of all typical "problematic" areas (like @BrownWater wrote), no copies of service records (just mentioned), interior pics are small end pretty dark. So many potential questions. I'm curious how it ends...

Fellas, I did a quick virtual overview about this car: https://youtu.be/TyDUFJ2T6J0 In short, this is a very unique CLS55 with some RENNtech parts that they no longer make. You could buy their M113K package and other performance upgrades, but exhaust, CF exterior stuff and interior upgrades are no longer available on RENNtech website. Building a CLS55 to match this one will definitely cost a lot and this car is already built and maybe you only need to add just few more things or leave it like this. I have CLS55 with RENNtech components but this car looks better. So you should seriosly considering getting this car. I wish I lived close so I could see it in person and probably make another video. If you buy it and move it close to DC or Philly or South New Jersey please let me know.
@Youngclassicamg Thanks! I just put on my headphones and watched your first video once again starting at 7:16 when you actually started driving it. It's hard to say if I hear a hum noise or it's just a loud exhaust or a mic or an overall noise. When I picked my CLS55 it was equipped with RENNtech headers and Meisterschaft catback exhaust. That Meisterschaft exhaust literally gave me a headache and I couldn't drive my car for more than like 20 mins, so I purchased a used stock CLS55 catback and put it on the car. Drone/hum noise was gone immediately. Idk if RENNtech is better. I have RENNtech catback on my other car and it sounds very close like to the stock exhaust meaning no drone at all. Anyway, I'm not complaining at all here.
Is there any exhaust drone noise especially when you cruise at normal cruise RPM i.e. 1700-2000?

This car is a beast!!!! I have CLS55 with some RENNtech goodies but this car has much more RENNtech goodies and much less miles than my CLS55. @CarNerdThank you! It would be great to have M279 with individual coils. It's indeed interesting Mercedes updated its engine in 2012 for SL and G cars but kept good old M275 here. It's not big deal though. Both engines are great!
I'm curious if this CL comes with M275 or M279? I doubt it has M279 but maybe someone knows better than me.
@Armenian83K is low miles? :) I guess this is a driver's AMG car, not a garage queen. Since wheels were replaced by a previous owner I think we'll never know the story about original wheels.
