Hello All and welcome to my 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC Background: The vehicle was bought used in 1992 by my uncle. He and his wife adored the vehicle and took really good car of it. They serviced it regularly and have all the records dating back to 1992. They always garaged and covered it. After his wife passed he tucked it away for two years, and offered it to me. Never wrecked, and body was never worked on. My Service Records: Upon taking possession of the vehicle, it was in great shape. I drove it around in Los Angeles heat and traffic just fine. I wanted to make the car near perfect, so I went and did all the fluid flush and filter changes. Then had the headliner reupholstered in real Mercedes-Benz vinyl. After that, I sent the vehicle to THE Beverly Laurel Automotive. I made sure to go through every single item. They replaced the fuel accumulator, AC compressor seal, antenna grommet, sunroof slide angle, recharge the AC, and AUX fan switch. Notable Items: 1. Beverly Laurel Automotive recommends that the vehicle could use a new set of track rod bushings, lower ball joints, subframe mounts, and resealing of the power steering gearbox. Though all these items are in great working and functioning order, the recommendation comes due to age. The vehicle has no leaks. 2. The tires are dated in 2015, though they ride and handle just fine. Damages/Items not working: 1. Driver door - clear coat is wearing/pealing top of the door handle. My guess is this is where they used the place their hands to shut the door. 2. Driver seat back side - has wear on the leather 3. Passenger side door has a long scratch that has been touched up by previous owner. 4. Rocks chips on the front of the car. Good Luck to everyone!
Car is selling... Reserve is off!!!
@smhgatorgreat question. The SRS light was on when I sent the vehicle to Beverly Laurel Automotive. They informed me that the SRS Module (behind the ashtray) needed to be replaced. I was able to source an operating mint condition part. Beverly Laurel Automotive replaced it free of charge, hence why it is not shown on the receipt. The part was purchased cash from a local reliable source and a receipt was not created. Happy New Year!
Beautiful!!! Truly an amazing car. Does the rear wing function properly? Your photos show it in the up position only. Thank you
@Davidsbenz560 Thanks for your question The vehicle is equipped with the SLS hydraulic suspension. There was no air suspension on this model. The vehicle was inspected meticulously and worked on by the one and only Beverly Laurel Automotive in Hollywood, CA. They are THE specialists for W126. I have 30+ classic Mercedes in my collection and they are the only one I trust. Vehicle was inspected top to bottom, including looking for suspension, timing, and fuel issues. Attached in the photo galley is their invoice of the work they did. The suspension is in great condition. The interior is an absolute 10 out of 10. Everything on the car works and is in place. The mechanics reported to me that the timing chains and guides were in good condition. Same for all components of the fuel, electrical, and suspension systems. Good Luck Everyone!
Hello all. This is my 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL. I purchased this about a year ago and started slowly making it perfect. Everything works, everything is there, no mechanical or electrical issues. The car wears its original paint, I will upload paint meter readings very soon. I'm an avid collector of W126, W124, & W123. I absolutely love these timeless and classy pieces. Feel free to ask questions. Good Luck Everyone!
Pre-Merger AMG - Check Classy Champagne - Check Low original Miles - Check Original AMG stamps - Check Seller is a reputable Benz Head and AMG fan - Check Properly curated - Check Everything else should be secondary =)
Is the steering wheel airbag functional? More detailed pictures would be helpful, especially of the under body. Thank you.
I'm wondering if I saw this correctly... The driver side rear 1/2 window exterior chrome trim seems to be misaligned compared to the driver door.
