@Amrk83 Congratulations for the win! It’s bittersweet for me, I’m glad she find new home, but the same time I feel sad to see a 10+ friend go. Thanks everyone for supporting my action! And thanks MB market!
@Yale1975 I’m living in Queens, the car is garage at Syosset,NY, the closest major airport will be JFK airport.
@mbmikema@mikeysal12 Thanks for the support!
@Rich_Benzerthank you! And very detailed informations on service and maintenance the 722.9 7G!
Hi all the bidders, as I mentioned on the previous comment, I’m going to list things I changed in last 2 years: 1-New ESP module from Mercedes (it came on after not driving the car for period of time) 2-New fuel tank (covered by extended warranty from MB). 3-New rim (one rim got crack on it, so I replaced it ). 4-New driver’s side taillight. (It was chipped a tiny little corner). 5-New headlight switch(old one is fading, so I bought new one from dealer for over $240). 6-Mercedes Crankcase Breather kit to fix old gasket leaking. 7-oil cooler gasket replaced. 8-New coolant from Mercedes dealer. 9-new drive belt and all the pully, tensioner. 10-replaced Camshaft Adjuster Magnet due to old gasket leaking. 11-brake light switch under the brake pedal. 12-New battery from Mercedes dealer. 13-everything regarding for the weather strip changed, I’m talking about weather strip for all 4 windows, front windshield weather strip and rain gutter, sunroof trim, two new rear quarter windows(dealer doesn’t offer weather strips for rear quarter windows, so I need to buy the whole windows), rain gutter trim pieces for the trunk area. All the parts above doesn’t needs to be fix, but I feel it’s good to refresh them. About the paint job for this car, the whole car is in good condition for the a life as commuting car, nothing crazy, but definitely not perfect. I repaint the front and back bumper last year, because of all the small scratch from the street parking. Refresh 3 rims at rim repair shop(the other 1 I brought new because the old one cracked). Overall it’s in very presentable condition. I also bought brand new genuine Mercedes wiper set, will install when delivery her to new owner.
@mbmikema I do really hope they are numbered by Mercedes, but they didn’t. And that AMG badge is not genuine Mercedes part, I was young and stupid, I brought it on EBay as “genuine” AMG badge back in 2010. I was trying to remove it when I was doing the details, my detailer refuse to remove it, because he think this badge looks good and he wants to purchase my car…. I’ll post another comment about the paint condition. I do have YouTube link that I gave to MB market, I don’t know why but they didn’t post that. I’m posting it here, hope MB market won’t delete it. Before anyone watch this video, please note: this video was shot in last year when my car replacing fuel tank at dealership, all the issue on the video are all addressed, new wheel, new cam ventilation components, new fuel tank. I’ll posting another comment to show everything I replaced in the course of the last 2 years. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/RnHCUVit_DE Thank you!
@TomBuddTX Yeah, being my only habit, I spent all my spare time and money on my cars…
@Yale1975 you are welcome. Let me know if you need any additional informations.
To all the bidders: I would like to have an opportunity to let you know my story with this car, that: 1- I was plan to keep this car forever, so I spend probably what this car will sold for in the past 3 years, to maintenance this car to perfect condition( I can show you pictures and recipes). So if I was planning to sale it at beginning, I probably would not spent a dime. 2- Go to my local Mercedes Dealer parts department, tell them my name, they will let you know that I always go there to by genuine Mercedes parts for my cars. 3- the reason I try to sell my E350, is because I don’t have space(usual BS), I rarely drive it(you can see from mileage), and the most important is, my kids are little, and they starts to trying to mess with my cars, which will ended up bad.. one time they try to draw a picture on my car with stone. 4- I don’t care the final price. All the trouble I had to put it here, that’s all because I want to find a good home for her, someone have MB knowledge and knows what he got. 5- my family drive this car very gently, she is still riding on the original suspension, and still solid and responsive. 6- She is good, humble commuting car for my family, not garage queen. I’ll be 100% honest answering any questions about this car, to give you perfect image of what you will getting.
@TomBuddTX The mighty OM642! I have 2 OM642 Mercedes(GL350 and Sprinter), they are such a great engine, beside the Bluetec part… which Mercedes just gives me 2 years unlimited mileage extended warranty, after the group lawsuit. If you have early model without bluetec, that will be great! You will only need to remember to replace that small gasket deep done in the V. And they won’t have problem with balance shafts. Somebody put estimated quote in the early comments, you can check below. And yes, if it dose failed, you will need new engine.
@Yale1975 I did 2 transmission service recommended by the Mercedes Benz service advisor, during last 10 years, when I was doing regular maintenance. Did the conductor plate changed by dealer? I don’t think so. How much is the conductor plate? Around $200 dollar, and you can rebuild the valve body with conductor plate online with lifetime warranty, for $500-$700. You can do some research online for 722.9 transmission, plenty of informations. As my previous comments below, the problem is really depending on your driving style. In my 10+ Mercedes Benz 722.9 7G-tronic cars, only my early model 2005 SLK55 AMG, have had some rough shifts(not even a failure), and the whole transmission was replaced by dealer back in 2008. Other cars of mine never fails on the road.
@Jayz thanks, but I do respect The MB market platform, and will continue to finish this action.
@Billwillyes, Mercedes always promotes their vehicle with good cause, that sometime… unknown to the public
BTW, to all the viewer who not familiar with this edition, it got Black paint with Red/Pink metallic, it will be shine fabulous red lights under the sun. New York’s recent weather wasn’t great, so I didn’t capture it.
@Rich_Benzer Thank for the comment,you lay out a clear and correct budget for balance shaft failure. But I disagreed it will defiantly go off as a "ticking bomb". As a proud owner of four M272 engine, I have 2007 ML350 168k, 2006 CLK350 1250k, 2007 E350 79K, 2008 CLK350 CONVERTIBLE 98K, none of them suffers balance shaft failure. Will they run till 200k? I would not know, but this problem really depending on your driving style and maintenance habits. I also have M156 AMG, by expert, they are also ticking bomb due to the head bolt issue. My M156 didn't suffer this problem, BUT I will definitely change my M156's head bolt one day, its just part of life owning classic MB. Welcome to check and see my car in person!
@LWB250 Thanks for LWB250 for this sincerely comment, I wish I have friend like you when I purchasing my next classic MB . Yes, my E350 did not have balance shaft changed. I know this problem for M272 quite some time, and I am fully aware of the consequence, if it do failed. So when I did recall on Airbag and brand new Fuel tank, I asked dealer if they can do anything under warranty. They checked my car 2 times, and didn't came back anything negative, so they will not replacing it. I guess everybody here all know how lousy MB dealer are those days, so I didn't take any chances, I did inspection myself following procedures on youtube, removed camshaft position sensor and there are no movement for the stamp, it's dead center,or stretch on timing chain.
