This 2007 Mercedes-Benz E350 Sak’s Fifth Avenue KEY TO THE CURE was purchased new through Mercedes-Benz of Massapequa, New York in September 2006. As 1 of 1,000 total units produced, this example has only 2 owners and shows dealer service records since new. The current owner purchased the car Certified Pre-Owned through Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown in 2010 with just over 34k miles on the odometer. As all 1,000 Sak’s Fifth Avenue KEY TO THE CURE examples, this E350 is finished in Sienna Black Metallic (170) paint over Sahara Beige Nappa Leather (825). Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Features include an AMG Styling Package, fog lamps, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, COMAND navigation, Bi-Xenon headlamps with Active Curve illumination, and more. This E350 shows 79k miles and is now offered by the second owner in New York with factory literature, complete service records, three keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title.
The body is finished in Sienna Black Metallic (170) which is unique to all Sak's Fifth Avenue editions. Features include integrated directional fog lamps, bi-xenon headlamps, a heated windshield washer system, a power-operated glass sunroof, and an AMG styling package boasting a sculpted front spoiler, side skirts, rear apron, and dual AMG exhaust outlets. A couple small dings are shown in the gallery below indicated by the owner. The blue-tinted glass remains original and free from chips, cracks, or scratches and features rear defrost.
Staggered AMG 18” wheels measuring 18x8.5" in the front and 18x9.5" in the rear and wear Continental Extreme Contact tires showing 2018 date codes. The tires measure 245/40 up front and 265/35 in the rear.
The cabin is trimmed in Sahara Beige Nappa Leather (825) across the seats, door cards, headrests, and rear armrest. The Sport steering wheel, upper door cards, dashboard, and armrest are shown in Charcoal and accented with Black Birdseye Maple Wood. Amenities include heated front seats with position memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, an electric rear window shade, COMAND infotainment with navigation, Harman-Kardon surround sound, a six-disc CD changer, and power-dropping rear headrests.
The leather and Birdseye Maple Wood multifunction steering wheel frames an aluminum trimmed 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, as well as digital gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 79k miles.
Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 that sends power to the rear wheels through a manually-shiftable seven-speed automatic transmission. Output was rated at 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque when new. Complete service records accompany the car for the next owner and show consistent dealer service. Current services are up to date and the most recent service shows a new ESP module.
This E350 shows 79k miles and is now offered by the second owner owner in New York with factory literature, three keys, complete service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title.
As the third iteration of a KEY TO THE CURE special edition, the 2007 E350 was one of one thousand examples specially appointed to generate $1 million for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund and developed in joint effort with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF). At the time, this edition debuted with the facelifted W211 powered by the M272 3.5-liter V6. Every example featured Sport Package AMG styling and was optioned with Bi-Xenon headlamps, Sport interior options, and exclusive Black Birdseye Maple Trim. It’s not every day one of these special sedans finds its way to market but moreover with these kinds of records and documented history. Originally boasting a 60k+ MSRP these cars weren’t short of options and still offer a true Mercedes-Benz experience more than a decade later.

Which part of NY are you in, the nearest major airport?
Everyone keeps mentioning what COULD happen to the motor and the transmission... the car is 14 years old with 80k miles. ANYTHING could happen to any car. IT isn't a brand new car and even if it was it could still have problems! Keep the positivity up
@Minzerofly IF the conductor plate goes bad in the transmission (and this is not a high risk, I wouldn't worry much about it) you will either need to get one that is refurbished (if the circuitry goes bad, you will see certain codes) for a coupla $100 then program it, or have yours fixed. Swapping it is rather straightforward but you need some special tools (scanner, fluid pump) to pump in new fluid. If the control module goes bad you will need to get a new one ($850) and get it coded to match the car ($400 or so?), or get a used one for maybe $100 and get it coded ($400). Then you will need to go into it with a DAS/Xentry computer and do some coding. In any case I wouldn't worry about it, change the fluid every 40kmi or so and just enjoy the car. Good luck on the sale, car looks beautiful.

Hi all the bidders, as I mentioned on the previous comment, I’m going to list things I changed in last 2 years: 1-New ESP module from Mercedes (it came on after not driving the car for period of time) 2-New fuel tank (covered by extended warranty from MB). 3-New rim (one rim got crack on it, so I replaced it ). 4-New driver’s side taillight. (It was chipped a tiny little corner). 5-New headlight switch(old one is fading, so I bought new one from dealer for over $240). 6-Mercedes Crankcase Breather kit to fix old gasket leaking. 7-oil cooler gasket replaced. 8-New coolant from Mercedes dealer. 9-new drive belt and all the pully, tensioner. 10-replaced Camshaft Adjuster Magnet due to old gasket leaking. 11-brake light switch under the brake pedal. 12-New battery from Mercedes dealer. 13-everything regarding for the weather strip changed, I’m talking about weather strip for all 4 windows, front windshield weather strip and rain gutter, sunroof trim, two new rear quarter windows(dealer doesn’t offer weather strips for rear quarter windows, so I need to buy the whole windows), rain gutter trim pieces for the trunk area. All the parts above doesn’t needs to be fix, but I feel it’s good to refresh them. About the paint job for this car, the whole car is in good condition for the a life as commuting car, nothing crazy, but definitely not perfect. I repaint the front and back bumper last year, because of all the small scratch from the street parking. Refresh 3 rims at rim repair shop(the other 1 I brought new because the old one cracked). Overall it’s in very presentable condition. I also bought brand new genuine Mercedes wiper set, will install when delivery her to new owner.
@mbmikema I do really hope they are numbered by Mercedes, but they didn’t. And that AMG badge is not genuine Mercedes part, I was young and stupid, I brought it on EBay as “genuine” AMG badge back in 2010. I was trying to remove it when I was doing the details, my detailer refuse to remove it, because he think this badge looks good and he wants to purchase my car…. I’ll post another comment about the paint condition. I do have YouTube link that I gave to MB market, I don’t know why but they didn’t post that. I’m posting it here, hope MB market won’t delete it. Before anyone watch this video, please note: this video was shot in last year when my car replacing fuel tank at dealership, all the issue on the video are all addressed, new wheel, new cam ventilation components, new fuel tank. I’ll posting another comment to show everything I replaced in the course of the last 2 years. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/RnHCUVit_DE Thank you!
Is it possible to get some more under carriage shots? With it being in NY rust is a concern for me. How is the paint on the car? Swirls/ scratches? Is there any history of any body work whatsoever being done (paint work or any replaced panels)? Also is the AMG badging factory on this car? And lastly are these cars numbered at all? Is it #x/1000? Thank you and beautiful car!

@TomBuddTX Yeah, being my only habit, I spent all my spare time and money on my cars…
@Minzerofly That is great info. Looks like you treat your cars like I treat mine...Cheers!
@Yale1975 you are welcome. Let me know if you need any additional informations.

@Minzerofly thanks for the background data.
To all the bidders: I would like to have an opportunity to let you know my story with this car, that: 1- I was plan to keep this car forever, so I spend probably what this car will sold for in the past 3 years, to maintenance this car to perfect condition( I can show you pictures and recipes). So if I was planning to sale it at beginning, I probably would not spent a dime. 2- Go to my local Mercedes Dealer parts department, tell them my name, they will let you know that I always go there to by genuine Mercedes parts for my cars. 3- the reason I try to sell my E350, is because I don’t have space(usual BS), I rarely drive it(you can see from mileage), and the most important is, my kids are little, and they starts to trying to mess with my cars, which will ended up bad.. one time they try to draw a picture on my car with stone. 4- I don’t care the final price. All the trouble I had to put it here, that’s all because I want to find a good home for her, someone have MB knowledge and knows what he got. 5- my family drive this car very gently, she is still riding on the original suspension, and still solid and responsive. 6- She is good, humble commuting car for my family, not garage queen. I’ll be 100% honest answering any questions about this car, to give you perfect image of what you will getting.
@TomBuddTX The mighty OM642! I have 2 OM642 Mercedes(GL350 and Sprinter), they are such a great engine, beside the Bluetec part… which Mercedes just gives me 2 years unlimited mileage extended warranty, after the group lawsuit. If you have early model without bluetec, that will be great! You will only need to remember to replace that small gasket deep done in the V. And they won’t have problem with balance shafts. Somebody put estimated quote in the early comments, you can check below. And yes, if it dose failed, you will need new engine.
@Yale1975 I did 2 transmission service recommended by the Mercedes Benz service advisor, during last 10 years, when I was doing regular maintenance. Did the conductor plate changed by dealer? I don’t think so. How much is the conductor plate? Around $200 dollar, and you can rebuild the valve body with conductor plate online with lifetime warranty, for $500-$700. You can do some research online for 722.9 transmission, plenty of informations. As my previous comments below, the problem is really depending on your driving style. In my 10+ Mercedes Benz 722.9 7G-tronic cars, only my early model 2005 SLK55 AMG, have had some rough shifts(not even a failure), and the whole transmission was replaced by dealer back in 2008. Other cars of mine never fails on the road.
@Jayz thanks, but I do respect The MB market platform, and will continue to finish this action.
@Billwill yes, Mercedes always promotes their vehicle with good cause, that sometime… unknown to the public
I had a '07 E Diesel..would this have had the similar Balance Shaft issue? I drove to about 200,000 miles with no problems... maybe this is a Gas Engine issue? Can someone clarify? And estimated cost to resolve? Does it lead to Engine failure if not resolved? Thx for solid input.

Hi. This model is notorious for transmission conductor plate problem. It will put the car in a limp mode. The problem goes away if replaced with a newer conductor plate, but it can get expensive. MB should have made this a recall item but ignored it. Do you know if the conductor plate has been changed?

@Rich_Benzer Thank for the comment, you lay out a clear and correct budget for balance shaft failure. But I disagreed it will defiantly go off as a "ticking bomb". As a proud owner of four M272 engine, I have 2007 ML350 168k, 2006 CLK350 1250k, 2007 E350 79K, 2008 CLK350 CONVERTIBLE 98K, none of them suffers balance shaft failure. Will they run till 200k? I would not know, but this problem really depending on your driving style and maintenance habits. I also have M156 AMG, by expert, they are also ticking bomb due to the head bolt issue. My M156 didn't suffer this problem, BUT I will definitely change my M156's head bolt one day, its just part of life owning classic MB. Welcome to check and see my car in person!
@LWB250 Thanks for LWB250 for this sincerely comment, I wish I have friend like you when I purchasing my next classic MB . Yes, my E350 did not have balance shaft changed. I know this problem for M272 quite some time, and I am fully aware of the consequence, if it do failed. So when I did recall on Airbag and brand new Fuel tank, I asked dealer if they can do anything under warranty. They checked my car 2 times, and didn't came back anything negative, so they will not replacing it. I guess everybody here all know how lousy MB dealer are those days, so I didn't take any chances, I did inspection myself following procedures on youtube, removed camshaft position sensor and there are no movement for the stamp, it's dead center,or stretch on timing chain.
As mentioned below it is unfortunate that this beautiful car is a ticking bomb as the engine is prone to suffer a failed balance shaft and cam issues. MB won’t stand behind the engine so you’re on your own. Engine-out procedure, figure on $10k or so to fix it at a dealer, less by an Indy that knows what to do, or DIY, or find a newer engine to replace it when it fails. That would be be maybe $3-5k depending…. You can find nice 350 cars with failed engines all day for next to nothing, unfortunately. So maybe buy this one after inspection, drive it (or not) if it’s OK now, and enjoy knowing that one day you’ll get some stutters and a CEL and cam codes and that will be that.
Any potential buyer better check the VMI or records to see if the balance shaft issues that plagued the M272 have been addressed. If not, they need to set some serious coin aside to anticipate the repairs, as they will be needed. This car is affected as the engine serial number is below the cutoff for the improved changes to the engines.
