This 1979 450SLC is finished in Gray Metallic over Blue Leather and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Equipment includes power windows, automatic climate control, a power sliding sunroof, central locking, an automatic antenna and an aftermarket head unit. The odometer now shows 148k miles and this 450SLC is now offered for sale by the current owner in Stow, Ohio with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The 14” Bundt wheels come finished in silver and wear Hankook Kinergy tires measuring 205/70 on all four corners with date codes reading 2019. The wheels show some signs of curb rash and small scratches. Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes are standard equipment for the C107.
The cabin is trimmed in Blue Leather with a matching blue dashboard, carpets and a gray headliner with Burl Walnut wood trim lining the center console and dashboard. Interior amenities include manually-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, central locking, power windows and an aftermarket Jensen head unit with CD player. The seller reports that the HVAC servo was previously removed resulting in heat only blowing through the front defrosters and a digital conversion unit is in the car but not fully installed. The passenger-side power windows are fully functional while the front driver-side regulator is going out and the rear can only be moved by hand.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. This six-digit odometer current shows 148k miles from new.
This coupe is powered by a 4.5-liter M117 V8 engine which is rated for 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports an exhaust leak from the catalytic converter and that the steering coupler is in need of a rebuild. The car is reported as running and driving. Underbody photos provided by the seller show various signs of rust.
This 450SLC is now offered by the current owner in Stow, Ohio with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
A walk around and driving video has been provided below.
Thanks to a longer wheelbase and fixed roof, the C107 SLC was able to offer the same experience as the R107 SL in a fixed-roof package that provided seating for four. Luxury features for the time period such as automatic climate control and power windows give this SLC a phenomenal classic Mercedes-Benz luxury experience paired with stunning coupe styling. With production ending in 1981, the SLC was produced in far smaller numbers than its soft-top counterpart making it much more rare and difficult to find. This example may have its flaws, but in the right hands has the potential to become a great driver. Reported as running and driving with a clean exterior, this example can be driven throughout its repairs providing an excellent Mercedes classic experience from day one.

@Sancem unfortunately Carfax is not available for cars older than 1981.
Carfax?
A walk around and driving video has been added to the listing.
@SellCLE you're right, I don't see the videos either. I'll make sure they get posted.
@Jthomasson Is the video uploaded? I don't see it on the listing. Thanks!
@Jackson we are not the original owner. Tires need replaced - if you win the auction and want us to install new tires, we’ll do the installation free of charge. Just have the tires shipped to us and we’ll take care of the rest.
Are you the original owner? How old are the tires?
@Walter578 yes it rides great on the highway, however the steering coupler does need rebuilt or replaced. The steering is loose, as you can see in the video.
How does it run .. still freeway worthy ?
