This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was originally delivered to the first owner in New Jersey in November 1985 and and shows ownership history in Connecticut, Florida and North Carolina. Finished in Signal Red (568) over Anthracite Leather (271), power is provided by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a removable paint-matched original hardtop, air conditioning with automatic climate control, a black soft top, and original black floor mats. The selling dealer is listing this example on consignment with an odometer showing only 23k original miles. This example is now offered in North Carolina with decades of service records, a fresh inspection, factory literature, an original tool kit, original spare with instruction tags, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title.
The body is finished in Signal Red (568) and features original body panels accented by a hand-painted black and grey pinstripe. Exterior features include a black soft top, chrome mirror caps, North American-spec headlamps and bumpers, and front fog lamps. The original paint-matched hardtop is included and features original glass with rear defrost. The exterior appears free of any blemishes or major chips as noted in the gallery below. Matching vin stamps can be seen in the gallery as well.
This 560SL wears original silver-painted 15x7” Gullideckel wheels wrapped in Yokohama Avid Touring-S tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners and wearing 2020-21 date codes. The wheels are free from any rash, blemishes or bends and feature original painted center caps.
The cabin is upholstered in Anthracite Leather (271) across the seats, door cards, armrest, head rests, and shift knob. The dashboard shows no cracks and the Burl wood trim has not been refinished. The cabin also shows original black carpets. Interior features include converted R134 factory air conditioning with automatic climate control, and an upgraded CD head unit in place of the original Becker.
The digital odometer shows 23k original miles. Instrumentation includes VDO gauges featuring a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, oil pressure, fuel economy, and an analog clock. The gauges are trimmed with chrome rings and feature electronic warning lights along the base of the cluster.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.3 automatic four-speed transmission. Thorough photos of the engine bay and engine mechanicals are viewable below.
While the R107 continues to solidify its legendary status among a lineage of SL's, examples like this 560SL stand out in our eyes for not only the original condition of the body and paint, but truly immaculate underbody and mechanicals that tells us the car has been taken care of over multiple owners and several decades. For this 560SL, it evokes images of the late 80’s and all the film-featured R107’s from the era in a stunning Signal Red over Anthracite leather interior. Bidders should feel confident in this purchase and seller. The winner owes it to themselves to watch Beverly Hills Cop as soon as this SL is delivered and a long, top-down drive would also be advised.

@British1 No paint ever as I understand it. There’s no discoloration in normal light anywhere. The maintenance records and the car fax confirm no damage ever, so no paint. This is a virgin body.
Seller have you ran a paint meter over the car or can you see any evidence of painting. In the left hand rear side shot it looks a slightly different shade - maybe the lighting , could you let me know please?

I’ve been a fan of 107’s for years and have owned 5. This one is exceptionally nice and that red/black combo is stunning. Have never seen it until today. Wish I was in the market

@Helmsmotorsports I agree that the colors are stunning. I’ve been told by experts that red with oatmeal / tan was fairly common, but red with BLACK is pretty rare. 😎
@Croosin_Wrld As far as I am aware the air conditioning is factory fitted. Doubt it could be aftermarket!
Such a classic color combo on the 107.
@seller when was the AC conversion done?

@Horsepwr4me I just went out to the car and checked the heated seats work just fine, and the a/c blows cold almost right away through the center vents. This car is in such good “almost as new” shape it’s hard to believe it’s been driven 23,000 miles!

Do the heated seats work as they should? Does cold air blow through the center vents?
