Complete Refurbishment from Mancuso Motorsports

This 1999 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG was originally sold in Illinois and shows documented mileage updates throughout the included clean Carfax report. Acquired by the seller previously through The MB Market earlier this year, the car now resides in Houston, Texas showing just 93k miles, approximately 800 of which have been added by the seller since purchase. This E55 AMG is finished in Black (040) over two-tone Black and Gray Leather (588) and power comes from a 5.4-liter V8 paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Features include multi-contour heated front seats with memory, dual-zone climate control, an electric glass sunroof, Xenon headlamps with washers, and a power rear sunshade. Maintenance earlier this year included replacement of the full front end suspension as well as rear bushings, an oil and filter change, and new tires. In 2020, the car was restored at Mancuso MotorSports of Glenview, Illinois where the car received a full repaint and refinishing of the AMG monoblock wheels. This W210 is now offered by the seller in Houston, TX with a clean Carfax report, two keys, recent maintenance records, and a clean Texas title.

The exterior is finished in Black (040), and is reportedly free from accidents or other damage. The AMG styling includes sculpted front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and a dual-tip AMG exhaust. Under current ownership, LED facelift-style W210 tail lamps were fitted to the rear of the car. The OEM facelift AMG tail lamps will also be included in the sale. While at Mancuso Motorsports, the car received a complete repaint in factory Black (040) paint.

Original staggered 18” AMG Monoblock wheels with machined lips were refinished in 2020 during restoration at Mancuso Motorsports and wear Sumitomo HTR Z5 tires that measure 245/40 up front and 275/35 in the rear with 2019 date codes.

The cabin is trimmed in two-tone Black and Gray leather (588) upholstery with birdseye maple wood veneer on the dashboard, center console, and door cards. The front multi-contour seats feature power adjustment and heat with memory, as well as an electrically adjustable steering column and rear view mirrors. Additional features include a power sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, an electric rear sunshade, and a Bose premium sound system with a trunk-mounted CD changer. The headliner is original and shows some sagging over the rear seats.

The two-tone leather wrapped AMG steering wheel frames 160-mph speedometer featuring a digital odometer showing 93k miles. Additional readings include a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog engine temperature and fuel gauge, along with a digital clock and outside temperature gauge. There are no warning lights on the dash and all pixels are in working order.

The 5.4-liter AMG-tuned M113 V8 produced 349 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. An oil change was performed in March 2019, and additional recent work includes all new full front end suspension components as well as rear bushings, and an oil and filter change with the previous owner.

We always enjoy when previously sold cars come back to The MB Market and our opinion of this one hasn’t changed since the last time we saw it. These W210 E55 AMG’s are continuing to trend upwards both in popularity and value. The 1999 models are certainly rarer than the 2000-2002 model years and seem to carry just a little more pre-merger leftovers by way of design and styling. If you've spent any time hunting for a W210 E55, you probably have realized that clean examples are very few and far between. These cars were so reliable and robust that most have been used as drivers while the weekend car stayed tucked away on the other side of the garage. We've seen them with well over 300k miles which is a testatment to how good life can be with a naturally aspirated M113 paired to a 722.6 transmission, still without the overly complicated technological advancements that have bogged down later models. We’re confident the next owner will appreciate the car as much as the seller has and continue to maintain it at the highest standards.
