The reserve has been reduced to help her find a new home ! Good luck to all in the final moments !
We are about an hour from the close of the auction! To any bidders that may have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer in time! Good luck to all! Hope she finds a good home!
@KingKittyIt does need TLC to make all the options/features that came factory with the car to work 100% in agreement to that. It takes someone that knows these cars well to make that happen also. However, it is a great entry point for one that wants to enter W140 ownership, with the reserve that is considerably lower in comparison to recent sales of W140s to reflect the repairs that would need to go into it. Not a show room car by any means, and never advertised to be one. Calling it a project car is harsh, but is relative to the person calling it a project-car, depending on how far deep they want to dive into repairs and options they want to address, everyone has different wants/needs. If it does not meet reserve id likely address the rear suspension/accumulator concern you mentioned and keep it as a weekend cruiser, though lord knows I don't need to add another weekend cruiser to the stable. It presents very well, has a straight body, clean interior, ice cold a/c, no accidents, no rust, drives great, has a solid drive-train with a recent pass on the strict California smog check.
@KingKitty The lumbar support for both sides do not seem to inflate or make any noise when switched anywhere between 1 to 5. As far as the rear suspension feel, I would say that is accurate, either a bottoming out or a drop off type feeling over bumps is the best way to describe it.
@KingKitty Thank you for the questions! Ill be more than happy to answer them about the S500. I will copy paste your questions below for clarity. It is my goal to be fully transparent with the condition and items listed as I have been, no surprises. For local bidders; all are welcomed to message me to see the vehicle in person if interested. Other than this being an obvious flip, it's spent a lot of time in the Texas sun to have caused the clear coat to fail on the plastic parts (bumpers/door cladding). -Yes, I purchased it with no intention of keeping it. I have been enjoying the car for two months, it drives and presents well for a 1997 year model S500. The bumpers and door cladding do have clear coat concerns, they are clearly photographed and presented in the photos. Along with the that I have attached photos pin pointing various scratches and or dings around the car. Any chance the original wheels are still around? And how has the "worn out rear suspension" been identified, that is, what exactly has made it apparent that the rear suspension is worn out? -The original wheels are not available, as the previous owner had aftermarket wheels, I had them removed and installed the current wheels you see pictured from a 2002 S55 AMG. As for the rear suspension, mainly when going over severe dips/bumps the suspension feels it has more drop off/motion than it should, I do not feel anything on smooth surfaces with no bumps or going in and out of steep driveways. But I do mention this to potential bidders for full transparency. Does the lumbar support work on both front seats? -I have not tested the lumbar function, I will test it tonight when I get to the car and post back with updates!
@jestratton390You're welcome! Repair documentation for the head bolts was not provided to me and does not show in the VMI nor the CARFAX so I would assume it has not been performed at this time. Though I have not felt any drivability issues in my brief ownership of this E63.
@jestratton390Hello, excellent questions as we near close of the auction. I have copied your questions and answered them for clarity. Thank you! 1) Can you describe the rear collision noted and any repairs as a result? - The rear collision noted on the CARFAX was with the previous owner but I did ask about it and it was only cosmetic, upon my inspection and photos attached it holds true as I do not see any structural damage. However, I did have the front and rear bumpers refinished for scuffs prior to the auction. 2) It looks as if there is some damage to the L rear suspension in pic 142 and maybe some corrosion to the R rear in pic 143. Do you know anything about those issues? - It appears the lower left rear control arm cover underneath has some damage to it - possibly road debris or something - I don't know more info about it, the corrosion appears to be on the right side not sure what caused it possibly outside influence as I do not see any types of leaks from the vehicle nearby that area. 3) Does any tech component NOT work (any portion of the front seat tech to include cooling/heating, rear camera, radio/bluetooth, etc)?-All components work as they are designed to, all seat options, audio, rear camera, and blind roller for the rear. 4) What was the transmission service at 100,634? -This was also done with the previous owner and to my understanding is the transmission fluid exchange service that is recommended and offered at the Mercedes-Benz dealer. 5) My 211 and my wife's 212 both have mid and rear underbody plastic skid plates but they appear to be missing on this car - the skid plates were removed to show the the underbody and have been installed since, it is comprised of plastic covers (2 were removed for the photos).
@Ddeninno404There is a reserve set on this auction. If you have any specific questions on the E63 please don't hesitate to ask! I'll be more then happy to answer them all. Happy bidding!
@AsbymanThank you!
@NoodlesExcellent question, I purchased the vehicle from the second owner who was experiencing a financial hardship at the time and needed to liquidate his assets. I love the car and have enjoyed every minute of driving it possible too much, but I have no use for the monstrous power of the E63 AMG for myself as I know I'll surely get into trouble. I am open to welcome to local bidders/interested parties to come view the vehicle, it is located in the 91214 Zip code. Feel free to send me a message and we can make arrangements.
Beautifully spec’d. These are already in the infancy stages of being collectible.
@mcm1997to be honest I’m not sure if it has that feature. It does not sound familiar to me.
@allenmanyes it is in the Los Angeles area currently 91214 zip code. I did not have the transmission serviced though I have the VMI I submitted to mb market. Services that were performed were valve cover gaskets, rear shocks, differential bushings along with the axle seals. Mobil 1 synthetic oil change was done last week for the new owner.
@UKCHAPThank you! AH I learn something new everyday! I always thought it was the 2002 cutoff because the sedan for 2003 was the new body I did not realize the wagon went the extra year. I just had no use for the 4matic in the wagon, the harshest conditions this wagon saw was drizzle in January LOL
@DapperWgnThank you! Yes it took us a while to find a final model year in our desired white color choice with the non 4-matic RWD option. Something about an older Mercedes-Benz wagon with that bulletproof V6 that just runs forever.
