This 2005 Mercedes-Benz E500 4MATIC Wagon is finished in Platinum Blue Metallic (353) over a Beige (835) Nappa leather interior and powered by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission with SpeedShift. Equipment on this example includes a factory Airmatic suspension, upgraded 18” MB wheels, power-adjustable heated seats with dynamic bolster function for driver & passenger, Keyless-Go, Bi-Xenon headlights, memory package, four-zone automatic climate control, through-loading feature, left & right rear door sunblinds, an electric/tilt sunroof, 6 disc CD changer, Harman Kardon stereo, COMAND w/navigation, wood steering wheel, power cargo cover, retractable cargo net/dog barrier, power rear liftgate, and a rear-facing third-row bench seat. Recent service includes all new control arms, new front air shocks, and new tires. This S211 has been upgraded with a full E63 AMG Body Kit with AMG exhaust outlets and shows just 112k miles from new. It is now offered with a clean Carfax report, factory literature, OEM Mercedes-Benz all-weather Hex-Mats, two keys, and a clean Maine title.
The exterior is finished in a rare shade of Platinum Blue Metallic (353) which has been fully ceramic coated. The front and rear bumpers and sideskirts have been upgraded with an E63 AMG kit to offer a more sculpted, aggressive look with side-marker delete on the front garnishes. Features include bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, a glass sunroof, roof side rails, and a rear wiper. No accidents or other damage are listed on the included Carfax report and paint is believed to be entirely original except for the new bumpers/side skirts. The AMG body kit was installed under prior ownership and is reportedly OEM equipment, as per the seller.
Upgraded 19” multi-spoke wheels wear newer Arroyo Grand Sport tires measuring 245/35 up front and 275/30 in the rear with 2020 date codes. The car is equipped with an Adaptive Damping System and a self-leveling Airmatic suspension which can be raised or lowered 2+ inches from inside the cabin. The front air shocks and control arms were replaced under current ownership. The leak-free suspension reportedly does not settle or drop during extended parking periods. The suspension can be further tuned to Sport 1 or Sport 2 settings which lowers the car between .6 and .8 inches while stiffening the suspension and steering for spirited driving.
The interior is trimmed in Beige (835) Nappa leather with burl wood accents on the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and doors. Interior amenities include Keyless-Go, power-adjustable heated seats with memory, Dynamic bolster seats for the driver and front passenger, keyless entry with push-button start, through-loading feature, left & right rear door sunblinds, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 6 disc CD changer, Harmon Kardon stereo system, COMAND w/navigation, heated screen washer system, heated rear glass, automatic/power-operated cargo cover, retractable cargo net/dog barrier, power rear liftgate, and a rear-facing third-row bench seat and four-zone automatic climate control. The seller notes that the dynamic seats are not currently functioning due to a bad bladder pump. OEM all weather mats are installed and included with the sale.
The multi-function steering wheel fronts factory instrumentation including an analog clock, a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and digital gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The dashboard houses the climate controls, an infotainment screen, a 6-disc CD changer, a pop-out storage cubby, and a lockable glovebox. The digital odometer shows approximately 112k miles since new.
The cargo area includes the through-loading feature and can be accessed via a power tailgate and contains a fold-down rear-facing bench seat with cupholders, automatic/power-operated cargo cover, retractable cargo net/pet barrier, rear stowage tank behind the second-row seats and hideaway rear-facing third row seats with cupholder and headrest.
The 5.0-liter M113 V8 is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission with SpeedShift as well as 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The M113 V8 was rated at 302 hp and 339 ft-lbs of torque when new. The car features a custom exhaust system with high performance mufflers as well as AMG OEM quad-exhaust outlets in the rear. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
The Carfax report indicates no accidents or damage, shows linear mileage updates and almost 20 dealer service visits. This S211 is now offered for sale in Portland, Maine with a clean Carfax report, factory literature, OEM Mercedes-Benz all-weather Hex-Mats, two keys, and a clean Maine title.

@kenbrowe Chicago,. that's my home town and probably one of the few locations with just as many potholes as CT and New York (where I work and commute now). I really appreciate all these details, and learning about the potential complications of the large and staggered tire/wheel sizes (which is exactly what I wondered about). By coincidence, i recently bought a 2005 Platinum Blue E500 Wagon, which is what inspired my questions. In any event, I thank you again, and I hope that we both enjoy our new steeds.
@Spider_Veloce - thanks for the note and sorry for the delay. The wheels and tires ride well and have plenty of grip. To my knowledge they are actually 19inch wheels, although they show more like 18 inches. The staggered setup does not bring in any additional vibration or issues on turn-in so far. What model are you thinking about re-creating on? Some things to note after a month or so: - 19" and sport tires do, of course, ride worse than some alternatives. This is mostly soaked up by the air suspension but these multi-spokes feel particularly fragile on some of our Chicago roads (you'll feel the bumps, in this case especially up front). I'll be switching to 17-18" and likely non-staggered in the winter to offset this. - This vehicle does have wheel spacers that bump the setup out ever so slightly so that it fits flush with the body kit. This is a subtle touch but if you're re-creating the approach and have a body kit, just keep that in mind. The S211 E55 body kit is not quite as aggressive and I'm not sure if it would be needed there, for example, but in this case it's the E63 kit which is slightly wider. - Be prepared: the multi-spokes attract brake dust and are naturally a bit more effort to clean. Your standard tire-brush at a DIY bay / touch free carwash will generally not do the trick and you need to order a detail or do it by hand yourself to get the shine. Hope this helps, cheers!
@kenbrowe posting this note a month after auction end. This car is absolutely beautiful and those upgraded wheels and tires look phenomenal. I'm curious how the wheels and tires are working out in daily driving. Also wanted to double check whether the wheels are 18 inch or 19 inch (since both sizes are mentioned in the description). They look so good, that I'm tempted to replicate them. Thanks for any feedback, if you have the time. Hope you are enjoying it.
Thanks, intense back and forth but couldn't be more happy about the car. I grew up in a 1989 300TE, which was also my first car that lasted ~250K miles until the transmission failed. At that point we decided to trade out, still regret that as it would have been great to have in the garage today. Since then I've been in an SLK230, 190E 2.6, and in Germany we had a clean C200 Elegance and later on an A35 AMG hatch that was custom spec'd and picked up from the factory. All that to say, if you're an MB enthusiast, you pick up your own preferences over time, and this particular car really resonates with us. Now that we are stateside again, this will be our dedicated family car which we plan to keep for as long as possible. To each their own on modifying vs. find the right car, I personally think this is an amazing example and we look forward to caring for it for many years to come.
Swear to God, I feel like I know this guy. Is that you @esahmed75? Dig your new persona.
Congrats to the winner looks like an awesome car that's fun to drive. @NEluxury great representation of classic Mercedes wagon let me know when I can buy that e63 off of you.
@Stmzilla okay so 9k for 350 +3k for styling +5k new engine + whatever exhaust is and you were saying it was worth how much? All you were doing was hurting the seller.
@Stmzilla when you open your service shop please let us know
@ryankey , we are talking an engine buddy. Can always make the swap.
Steal! I am flat-out kicking myself.
An E350 and E500 are not the same @Stmzilla

There is no other wagon like this one and they'll never make this color again!
$16,000 bid placed by @bge2626
Again, it nice, but not that nice. You can buy these wagons with under 100k miles all day long for under $9k. The body kit OEM is under $3k. Throw on some wheels and an exhaust, and there you have it.
$15,750 bid placed by @blachads
@Stmzilla if you can build me one just like this I'll buy it from you for 20k 🙂
@NEluxary, I dont disagree with you on the body kit and exhaust, but at 112k+ miles, its hard to put up that kind of cash when you know things are bound to be needing work soon.

@Stmzilla have you recently priced an authentic s211 amg body kit recently? Or a custom exhaust? I appreciate your insight but it sounds more like sour grapes than sage advice. Good luck in your endeavors.
Goodluck guys! I really wanted this one, but afraid not willing to spend 15k+ on an 2005 E500 wagon with +112k miles. Can build it cheaper with another wagon. Happy bidding.

One day left and I've had a lot of similar questions about this wagon. I'll give my history and condition report in this comment in hopes that it helps bidders get an accurate representation of what they are bidding on. I bought this car a year ago from MaxMotive out of the Miami area. Theyre a high end classic car dealer. The cars exterior was built by a tech at a luxury euro shop down there. I can't say enough good things about the exterior of this car... the color, the body kit, the wheels, the tint... its nearly perfect 9.5/10. It's been fully ceramic coated prior to my ownership. As shown in the pics the side mirror gaskets need to be replaced but this is a simple and cheap job. This has to be one of the best looking wagons on earth and if I hadn't bought an e63 amg wagon (thru mbmarket) at the exact same time that I bought this I would likely never sell it. I've driven this one about 4k miles while only driving the e63 amg 400 miles. I've enjoyed the fact that this is a much more usable and reliable and affordable wagon that honestly looks better than the real deal e63. The interior is in good condition. There is some wear in the driver's area and a cracked piece of plastic by the rear passenger door sill (easily replaced from any e500 of the era) A few people asked about the carpets and if they were dirty. I had to agree that they weren't deep cleaned any time recently so I shampooed them last night and they look much much better. Ill post pictures tonight after work. For me personally I like that the interior is standard e class mercedes. It adds to the drivability to not have to fret over the small details like I do in my e63 wagon. The interior is clean with no smells. The dash and radio and doors are all very good with no dry cracks or anything like that. Overall I rate the interior a 7.5 out of 10. Running condition is very good. There are no leaks. The 5.0 v8 is strong and ready and gives that classic Mercedes road feel. Brakes are responsive and smooth with no shaking. The transmission shifts just as it should and can be manually shifted for sportier driving. The airmatic suspension works just as it should and is adjustable. Steering is tight. I don't think it needs anything to be better. It's operating just as designed. The exhaust sounds better than my e63. Whoever built it did a premium job. The tires are arroyo brand because at the time I put them on that was the only brand that had the 2 sizes needed available. I think they're great tires though - quiet, smooth, with good grip and high wear ratings. No complaints. I've had this car serviced by mercedes specialists. The front control arms are big money but they are fresh and should last many many years. Brake and coolant services have been done. Currently the car is in ready condition. This engine and transmission is famous for reliability and it has the Car Wizard's stamp of approval. I'm selling because I can't keep everything and after a year of indecision I have decided to keep the e63 wagon because well, it's an e63 amg and while not as beautiful as this wagon it's an engineering legend. Whoever buys this wagon is getting a true beauty that's ready for cruising and car shows. It turns heads everywhere. I've personally spent 5% of my life staring at it since I got it. The car is in southern Maine. I can store it while shipping is being arranged and I have some shipping connections who use enclosed transport. I would definitely recommend enclosed transport. Please bud with confidence if this is the type of mercedes you a re looking for. There is not another one like it!

Anyone have an idea on what it will cost to replace the rubber boots/gaskets between the front doors and the mirrors? Looks like both need replacing asap.

Beautifully spec’d wagon.. and super cheap. I personally own two E500 4-Matic Sport wagons, one with now over 200k still rolling strong & the other some may know about ;) GLWS and happy bidding!!
@Spider_Veloce yes I can get those pics. This car has Bluetooth and the receiver is located in the center console underneath the removable cup holders.
Hello @NEluxury Beautiful car. Could you also add a picture of the interior of the storage compartment next to the drivers seat. (Curious whether this car has the Mercedes Bluetooth phone adaptor). Also, could you add pictures of the COMAND screen when it is displaying the different functions in action (Radio, CD, Navigation, etc.)? Many Thanks,
***update I mentioned in the walk-around that the brake and cooling systems have the remainder of a 36k mile warranty. This is not correct. Unfortunately the warranty is NOT transferable. I am sorry for the incorrect information. I was under the impression that these warranties would transfer to the new owner. The service record is included in the pictures.
Extremely detailed listing and tastefully modded wagon! This would turn a lot of heads at Cars and Coffee. Slap some Michelin Pilot Sports on this car and it's perfection ;-)

Dang, i just picked one of these up and did the same thing with the front bumper. Couldn't find the side skirts or rear bumper for the S211 though, rare find on this wagon. Great color too. Wish i had waiting 3 weeks for this to come up.
