@mbfan2024 Agreed, it hurts them too because they could have made 4.5% on $17k on this auction. Plus they need to update their emails, they are atrocious, I got the "you've been outbid" email and there was NO hyperlink in the email to click to raise my bid. It's never smart to make a potential customer/buyer do EXTRA work to spend money. Imagine email marketing from Apple introducting a new iphone but no hyperlink to buy it, LOL, ridiculous.
IMO, it would be prudent for MB Market to encourage sellers to be better with this stuff, as it's obviously good for everyone. I bought the S500 earlier this year because the seller was amazing; photos were perfect & videos gave me supreme confidence.
@mbfan2024 Seller in Oklahoma must have sold it for $9k or likely less with a reserve this low so it's just sad the guy in OK didn't know he could have gone on here or another auction site and sold it for 15-17k all day long if he was good with a camera and interacted. He left probably $10k on the table. More than enough ignorance to go around on this one. HOPEFULLY the buyer gets a solid deal and it'll be one of the best deals of the year if that's the case.
Yes if buyer changes his mind and doesn't want it, just go on B-a-T, and actually RESPOND to people, and make a few videos, including some closeups (which this auction mysteriously didn't have) and prove to people that things like the ROOF work, and try to check your email for personal messages and you'll probably flip it for several K. Dealers (most) are so dumb, they think that it helps the car that they are selling it. HA. If this was a private seller I would have rolled the dice but to me, Dealers needs to work HARDER because I trust them WAY LESS.
This was a ridiculous deal; I was interested as well; videos do go a long way to adding confidence.
A LOT of money left on the table here by the seller. My budget was THOUSANDS higher but the lack of interaction by seller, lack of his reply to my recent comments, not replying to my private message, no walk around video, no cold start video, no roof operation video means seller left $5K on the table, my max was $17K. Looks like a good car that was 'likely' taken good care of in OKlahoma, sucks that sometimes flaky dealers get these cars vs the good communicative dealers. This seller would have been ROASTED on the B-a-T site.

@hansom in a previous auction of a SLK you said there was a simple fix for the door leather glue coming loose and letting the leather panel look flappy. The passenger door panel on this car is doing that, but in the previous auction you didn't mention the fix, could you share that here as that's something I'd like to address if I am the winning bidder.
Same question for photos 38, 46, 57 and 77 and as they all seem to have white scratches. I'm trying to see how deep and how much of the clear coat is affected. Can you please upload a closer photo and any context on the marks. @hansom
Photo 77 has scratch in the middle left section. In your photo it appears as a white line or dot. Can you please take a closer photo so I can ascertain the depth and size of it. In photo 69, in the middle section of the 'gap' that borders the left and right side of the rear window there appears to be some fabric or something that is pinched or visible on both sides. Can you let me know what that is? @hansom
Additional photos have been added to the gallery (apologies for the delay).
@mikelaca Not sure why the pictures are still not showing up, I’ll try to contact support again. All the suspension is stock, there are no aftermarket parts on the car. Thank you!
@Hansom Thanks for reply. Can you see if photos are uploaded, I don't see them yet. Also, can you confirm if the suspensions, shocks, struts, etc. are OEM and not after-market brand? Trying to see what if any aftermarket drivetrain parts have been installed.
@mikelaca Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've taken the missing pictures, and you should be able to see them soon as they are being uploaded. As for the seats, they are full leather, which I believe is less common than those with Alcantara inserts. The car does have an AUX, located in the glove box and has satellite radio. All of this will be shown in the pictures. Thank you!

These R171 SLK 55's are under the radar... Such a great little package with plenty of power. GLWTS
Can you please upload a photo showing both keys? Do you have the user manual that goes with this car? Typically in these cars the upper shoulder area of the seats was an alcantara fabric but in this car it looks like the seats are 100% leather but the photos are not close enough to be sure. Can you comment and take a closer up photo of the left and right wings of the seats please? @Hansom
Can you please upload photos of the inside of the glove box as well as the inside of the armrest storage area as well as the inside of the rear wall mounted vertical glove box that is adjacent to the armrest and below the rear center speakers? The Infotainment system says AUX on one of the buttons, can you take a photo of the auxiliary input? Can you confirm the car has satellite radio by taking a photo of the infotainment screen showing the standard Sirius XM screen you get (even if you are not a subscriber)? @Hansom
