mikelaca bid $9,400

Are you able to photo and upload pics of the recent service work invoices mentioned in the description?
@Forzacarcompany It looks like the windshield wiper and motorized headrest both became inoperable between the prior auction and this auction based on the respective descriptions written. Can you please list anything else that is newly inoperable, changed, more worn or otherwise different than it was from the prior auction?
Wow there's a story here somewhere. 36 miles since last sold on this site 9 months ago. Did the last buyer have a heart attack the day he picked it up?
@mbfan2024 Agreed, it hurts them too because they could have made 4.5% on $17k on this auction. Plus they need to update their emails, they are atrocious, I got the "you've been outbid" email and there was NO hyperlink in the email to click to raise my bid. It's never smart to make a potential customer/buyer do EXTRA work to spend money. Imagine email marketing from Apple introducting a new iphone but no hyperlink to buy it, LOL, ridiculous.
@mbfan2024 Seller in Oklahoma must have sold it for $9k or likely less with a reserve this low so it's just sad the guy in OK didn't know he could have gone on here or another auction site and sold it for 15-17k all day long if he was good with a camera and interacted. He left probably $10k on the table. More than enough ignorance to go around on this one. HOPEFULLY the buyer gets a solid deal and it'll be one of the best deals of the year if that's the case.
Yes if buyer changes his mind and doesn't want it, just go on B-a-T, and actually RESPOND to people, and make a few videos, including some closeups (which this auction mysteriously didn't have) and prove to people that things like the ROOF work, and try to check your email for personal messages and you'll probably flip it for several K. Dealers (most) are so dumb, they think that it helps the car that they are selling it. HA. If this was a private seller I would have rolled the dice but to me, Dealers needs to work HARDER because I trust them WAY LESS.
A LOT of money left on the table here by the seller. My budget was THOUSANDS higher but the lack of interaction by seller, lack of his reply to my recent comments, not replying to my private message, no walk around video, no cold start video, no roof operation video means seller left $5K on the table, my max was $17K. Looks like a good car that was 'likely' taken good care of in OKlahoma, sucks that sometimes flaky dealers get these cars vs the good communicative dealers. This seller would have been ROASTED on the B-a-T site.
@hansom in a previous auction of a SLK you said there was a simple fix for the door leather glue coming loose and letting the leather panel look flappy. The passenger door panel on this car is doing that, but in the previous auction you didn't mention the fix, could you share that here as that's something I'd like to address if I am the winning bidder.
Same question for photos 38, 46, 57 and 77 and as they all seem to have white scratches. I'm trying to see how deep and how much of the clear coat is affected. Can you please upload a closer photo and any context on the marks. @hansom
Photo 77 has scratch in the middle left section. In your photo it appears as a white line or dot. Can you please take a closer photo so I can ascertain the depth and size of it. In photo 69, in the middle section of the 'gap' that borders the left and right side of the rear window there appears to be some fabric or something that is pinched or visible on both sides. Can you let me know what that is? @hansom
@Hansom Thanks for reply. Can you see if photos are uploaded, I don't see them yet. Also, can you confirm if the suspensions, shocks, struts, etc. are OEM and not after-market brand? Trying to see what if any aftermarket drivetrain parts have been installed.
Can you please upload a photo showing both keys? Do you have the user manual that goes with this car? Typically in these cars the upper shoulder area of the seats was an alcantara fabric but in this car it looks like the seats are 100% leather but the photos are not close enough to be sure. Can you comment and take a closer up photo of the left and right wings of the seats please? @Hansom
Can you please upload photos of the inside of the glove box as well as the inside of the armrest storage area as well as the inside of the rear wall mounted vertical glove box that is adjacent to the armrest and below the rear center speakers? The Infotainment system says AUX on one of the buttons, can you take a photo of the auxiliary input? Can you confirm the car has satellite radio by taking a photo of the infotainment screen showing the standard Sirius XM screen you get (even if you are not a subscriber)? @Hansom
Would love to know if this ended up selling with the high bidder. @Amgc63
Can someone remind me, was the headbolt still an issue on this particular year?
For a non V8 S500 with a few sticky buttons, 17K is probably all there is. A same year s600 with 100K miles just sold for 8K.
@amgforme Is this still available after the bat listing?
Have any additions or modifications been made to allow for bluetooth audio streaming or an aux-in connector?
@classicrider will you be putting these on your own car or eventually reselling them?
Does anyone know what you need to do if you take 16 or 17in wheels off a C140 and put these on to have the speedometer and odomoter stay accurate? Is that an issue? I know never cars you can select the tire size on the computer nav screen, but what did people do before that was a possibility?
Were you able to confirm if the car has an aux-in audio jack in the arm rest or glove box?
Does anyone know if this car has, or if it is easily possible to add, a 1/8 inch aux in stereo mini jack? To allow the connection of a media device through the ubiquitous headphone style connector
@Static50 How do you compare the acceleration, smoothness through the rev range/torque curve, transmission downshifts, general performance vs the S600 car(s). BTW, what years are your other 600s/65s?
What we know based on the first paragraph is the car was sold at some point after 999 AD and the current owner took possession sometime between Y2K and now lol. You may want to go in and replace your Xs with numbers as it appears you submitted draft text.
Dear Seller, Can you let me know the make/model and other details of what 'modification' was purchased and installed to add CarPlay to the unit. Did it add additional features (such as Android, more advanced Bluetooth, etc) and did it remove any features from the OEM system such as CD, Aux, DVD, SplitScreen, etc?
@munichhero Let us know how this turns out, definitely the best car I've seen on this website in the history of this website. Would love your first impressions of it as well as any initial maintenance and how you are enjoying it.
Wow, the seller is a very lucky guy. To get that price with the questionable maintenance, back of a cocktail napkin 3rd party inspection, taking ages to get back to questions, circumspect answers. And he got less than 10K away from a 2008 CL65 40th Anniversary with a $300k MSRP that sold on here last week, seller should be thrilled. Would love to know from the buyer if he ends up putting $5k or $25k into this car to get it pristine later this year.
Dear Seller, Are you able to upload a VMI document? If not, can you tell us what, if ANY records you have with this car for maintenance? Because I fear without service records or a VMI any bidder would need to budget (reduce their max) by $10K to cover the 4-5 typical items this car would need at this age (regardless of it's low miles).
Yikes. Dealers need to wake up and smell the coffee. The G market has changed, and fast. Every G auction ends in reserve not met with a dealer surprised they can't find a soccer mom spending covid stimulus money on a vehicle like it's 2021. Every week it's RNM on the Gs. Looks like the market is speaking.
Someone call the police, all the badges were stolen, haha. Any chance you have them or know why they were all removed?
