This four-spoke AMG Steering Wheel was offered as a rare option by AMG during the mid-merger days in the 90's when AMG was an independent company modifying Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It’s finished in Black Leather and the face is engraved with the "AMG" script. The center airbag is removable and also has horn functions. The back of the wheel features finger grips along the rim. According to the seller, the wheel should fit the W126, W201, R107, and W124. This rare AMG steering wheel is located in Thailand and the seller is willing to ship worldwide at the buyer's expense.
This AMG steering wheel can fit various Mercedes-Benz models. The seller states the wheel will fit the W126, W201, R107, and W124 models. The leather is reported to be all original with the "AMG" script shown on the airbag.
Photos of the back of the steering wheel are provided showing the hub with an OEM part number. Finger grips are designed into the back of the outer rim.
This original AMG steering wheel was made exclusively for AMG and is now offered in original condition. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and the seller is willing to accommodate worldwide shipping needs.
The MB Market Insights
Classic AMG modified vehicles have become highly collectible. By that same trend, so have the parts which are becoming more rare by the day, as if they weren't already difficult to find. This AMG steering wheel is one of the must have parts to set any Benz apart from the crowd. While driving down the road, these cars can be easily spotted with aggressive AMG body kits and wheels, possibly blasting your favorite 80's hit with the windows down. On the interior, there were less obvious options aside from Recaro seats, extended wood, and of course, a proper AMG steering wheel. This is a very unique piece from the AMG parts catalog during the 90's, when AMG was in the process of merging with Mercedes-Benz. The "AMG" script across the center airbag serves as a modest reminder that you're not driving just any Benz. There's something special about an original condition example like this that has been extremely well preserved. No matter what old school Mercedes muscle car you've got, this steering wheel can spice up the interior in all the right ways.
Are you sure this is 380mm diameter? I've never seen a steering wheel of this vintage smaller than 390mm (which is what I believe this wheel is).
I believe this style wheel with the lower spokes close together was not introduced until late 1991. AFAIK, it would not be period correct on any 1980's AMG.
@BD450SLHello! The diameter is 380mm, and this is an original AMG steering wheel, it has the stamps on the centre cap of the steering wheel with AMG and part number. This was mounted on a W201, still in factory condition.
Exact diameter (mm)?
Any AMG or Momo casting numbers on the rear spokes or hub face?
Is the leather original or rewrapped?
Is the center pad original AMG or reproduction?
Has this wheel ever been mounted on a car? If so, which chassis?
@R107FiendI don’t see why it wouldn’t fit. This style wheel was often seen in 190E and 124 models in the early 1990’s that came with Sportline steering wheels. On a R107, it should bolt up but the “period purist” in me would say it’s not the correct wheel.
I don’t believe this has an airbag. That cover pops out and there is metal structure in place of the airbag. Also does not have SRS markings. I regret selling mine! Nice condition!

I really wanted it, but on second thought I would like to get the pre-merger AMG for my C124@BD450SL Hello! I have two 85 SL 500's I'm shopping for -.-This is a Sportline steering wheel with an AMG center pad. Not an actual airbag as listed. Period correct from around 1992 or so.$600 bid placed by @Mshefabay
